The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1396: Catherine

Chapter 1396: Catherine

Ling Feng smiled and looked at Shen Liang: "Impressive!"

"I never really wanted to be a bad person, I was just forced..." Shen Liang said awkwardly.

"Whether you were forced or not, that’s not for me to determine. You were working for Catherine and developed He Wei as a subordinate. That’s already a crime!" Ling Feng said calmly.

"I know, I know..."

Sweat dripped from Shen Liang’s forehead as he realized that no matter his contributions, he couldn’t escape the law’s punishment.

Ling Feng had obtained the evidence but didn’t rush to find Lin Xue. Instead, he looked at Shen Liang and asked: "Catherine lives in such a place, how can we find her?"

"Well..."

Shen Liang hesitated for a moment: "She always finds me first. I don’t have her address or contact information."

"I see."

Ling Feng thought for a moment. "In that case, I’ll have to stick by your side 24/7 until she shows up!"

Shen Liang: "...."

He certainly didn’t want that. Ling Feng’s presence was overwhelming, making being with him very uncomfortable.

But there was nothing he could do. He was like a prisoner now, and his objections wouldn’t be effective!

So the two sat opposite each other, staring silently.

No one knew how much time passed before the ringing of Ling Feng’s phone broke the silence as the sky gradually darkened.

Seeing it was Lin Xue, Ling Feng answered: "No need to wait for me for dinner; I probably won’t be coming back tonight."

"I’m not calling about dinner, I’m asking about the progress. How are things now?" Lin Xue asked.

"I’ve already captured Shen Liang and obtained the evidence, but a new situation has emerged..."

Ling Feng explained the situation, and Lin Xue paused in silence: "Just waiting like this isn’t a solution, right? Does Shen Liang really know nothing about Catherine?"

"Probably not. I haven’t verified," Ling Feng replied.

"Then you should give it a try. I feel like he knows something," Lin Xue suggested.

"Alright, I’ll try!"

Ling Feng didn’t hang up the phone. He just put it to the side and then reached out to grab Shen Liang’s wrist.

"What are you doing?"

Shen Liang was startled, looking nervous.

"Don’t be afraid, I’m not interested in men!"

Ling Feng said, then asked: "What does Catherine do in the Demon Capital?"

"I already said, I don’t know she..."

Ling Feng waved his hand: "No need to say, I already know!"

In Shen Liang’s mind, flashed the image of a blonde woman with fair skin and blue eyes like a pool of water. Her delicate appearance was on par with, if not better than, Joanna’s!

Further information revealed that Shen Liang not only knew Catherine’s profession but also her address. The reason he wouldn’t speak up was that he had already fallen for her and wanted to protect her!

If he delayed long enough, Catherine would surely realize and leave by herself, leaving the security bureau with no options.

As for Shen Liang, the evidence was enough to show he was coerced, and even if Catherine escaped, it wouldn’t worsen his penalties.

Understanding this, Ling Feng chuckled: "Never thought you’d be a romantic!"

"What are you talking about?"

Shen Liang stared wide-eyed in panic.

"Trying to play games with me?"

Ling Feng chuckled: "It’s a shame, I initially thought you had no problems, but now you’re intentionally hiding crucial information. This confession of yours is going to be voided!"

Ling Feng finished talking, tapped Shen Liang’s acupuncture point, stood up, and picked up his phone: "This kid really hid something, I’ve found Catherine’s location!"

"Alright, I’ll drive over immediately, let’s meet there!" Lin Xue said.

"No need, I’ll find her myself, stay home with Uncle Lin!"

Ling Feng chuckled and said, "You don’t think I can’t handle a foreign woman, do you?"

"Alright then, remember to call me once you’ve caught her, so I won’t worry," Lin Xue said.

"Definitely!"

Ling Feng nodded, hung up the call, and stepped out the door.

Coming downstairs, he didn’t bother to call a taxi. Instead, he walked, crossing two streets and reaching the entrance of a high-end residential area.

The street here was quiet, and the buildings were classical, evidently a historic residential area, not affordable for just anyone.

Ling Feng didn’t enter through the front gate. He stood outside the over-two-meter-high wall, and seeing no one around, with a tap of his foot, he was in the air!

He then silently landed in the landscape woods.

The sun hadn’t set yet, with the last sliver of sunset glow illuminating the high-rise buildings in the community. Ling Feng started scanning with his Divine Sense.

Soon, in a room on the third floor, he saw Catherine’s figure.

The woman was wearing a red suit, seemingly having just returned from work.

Ling Feng already knew she worked as a model, but that was clearly just a facade, so he wasn’t concerned.

Seeing her dressed like that, with her long, shapely legs, Ling Feng couldn’t help but think: "Even among foreigners, there are beautiful women!"

With that thought, he quickly headed towards Catherine’s building.

The woman was hurriedly packing her things in her room.

Watching her pack clothes into a suitcase while burning documents in the kitchen under the range hood, Ling Feng knew she was preparing to flee!

Unsure of her connection with Shen Liang, it was clear she had sensed the impending danger.

Ling Feng felt a little relieved, thinking how fortunate it was that Lin Xue reminded him. Had they waited foolishly in the apartment with Shen Liang, this woman would have slipped away!

Reaching the building, Ling Feng saw the entrance required a key card. He didn’t bother with such formalities, instead using his strength to yank it open with a bang.

Ascending the stairs, Ling Feng stood at Catherine’s door and knocked.

Inside, Catherine stiffened, slowing her movements, stopping everything.

"Don’t pretend no one’s here. I know you’re packing. Open up!" Ling Feng shouted.

The woman inside paused, then reached into the suitcase, pulling out a small silver pistol!

Ling Feng sighed and couldn’t resist reminding her: "Hey, you shouldn’t be an ordinary person, right? Using such means to deal with me, don’t you think you’re underestimating me?"

Catherine’s already large eyes widened further at his words, leaving her dumbfounded.

Not wanting to waste more time, Ling Feng twisted the doorknob, breaking the lock, and pushed the door open.
