Chapter 1388: Kylin
Chapter 1388: Kylin
Ling Feng: "..."
He thought to himself that this was a bit of a joke. No matter how smart that monster is, could it really communicate with humans like this?
But to his surprise, just as Fei’er finished speaking, a loud buzzing sound came from the cave!
Soon after, a pair of blood-red eyes suddenly appeared at the mouth of the cave!
"Wow, impressive!"
Ling Feng was surprised as a small figure emerged from the cave.
A tiny creature, about the size of a house cat, looking very cute and harmless.
Ling Feng stared, while Fei’er gently said, "Don’t be afraid. We have no ill intentions, we just want to take a look."
The creature indeed looked quite strange, not a species known on Earth. At the cave entrance, its eyes were full of vigilance, clearly not convinced by Fei’er’s words.
"I know you might be hungry, so we brought some food. Do you want to try it?" Fei’er continued softly.
Ling Feng watched, suddenly feeling she had the potential to be a kidnapper, as if enticing a child away!
Then he whispered, "Are you sure this is the Kylin?"
Fei’er didn’t answer, just gave him a glare.
Ling Feng knew he shouldn’t have spoken, so he quickly remained silent.
Afterward, Fei’er took some White Jiao meat from her Space Bracelet and slowly placed it on the ground.
The creature sniffed, seemingly discovering its deliciousness, and its eyes began to gleam while it swallowed.
"Don’t be afraid, it’s edible. Have a taste!" Fei’er continued to gently coax.
Hesitating for a moment, unable to resist the temptation of food, the creature lowered its head to smell, then opened its mouth and took a bite!
Once it started eating, it couldn’t stop, ignoring Ling Feng and Fei’er as it devoured the food.
"Don’t rush, there’s plenty more, take your time!" Fei’er laughed.
She and Ling Feng watched, and once the creature finished eating, Fei’er immediately took out another piece.
Ling Feng found it peculiar. This fellow had eaten over a dozen pounds of meat, yet its belly didn’t bulge at all. It was truly strange!
After a while, the creature stopped.
"Finally full!"
Ling Feng breathed a sigh of relief, looked at Fei’er: "What next?"
"Don’t worry about it."
Fei’er said, looking at the small black creature, "Full? Can I touch you?"
"...."
The little thing naturally couldn’t reply, only looked at her with big eyes.
Feeling nothing amiss, Fei’er reached out her hand, gently moving it forward.
The creature was suddenly a bit wary but didn’t move away or evade.
Seeing this, Fei’er petted its head, laughing, "So soft!"
And the creature seemed to enjoy it, even narrowing its eyes!
Ling Feng saw this and thought it was promising, seemed like they could tame this creature!
But unexpectedly, Fei’er communicated with the creature mentally, suddenly lifted her head and said, "Uncle, it agreed to come with me, but we must first help it accomplish something!"
"Oh? What is it?" Ling Feng asked.
"It said to follow it into the mountains!"
Fei’er pointed to the distant mountain.
Ling Feng was somewhat puzzled but still nodded: "Alright, let’s go!"
"Okay!"
Fei’er nodded, stood up.
The creature suddenly burst into a golden light, then rapidly expanded into a large, human-sized creature.
After that, it turned its head and ran towards the mountains!
Ling Feng quickly grabbed Fei’er’s hand, and they hurriedly followed.
"Are you sure it’s a Kylin?"
Heading towards the mountains, Ling Feng asked.
"Yes, it’s a Stage One Fire Qilin!" Fei’er said.
"This thing has stages, huh?"
Ling Feng said, then asked, "With all that black fur, it’s a Fire Qilin?"
"Yes, it hasn’t evolved yet. Only when it evolves to Stage Three will it change color, then it will have a full coat of crimson fur!" Fei’er said.
"I figured, seems like in ancient legends, Kylins don’t look like this!"
Ling Feng nodded, smiling.
Under the night sky, the two followed the Qilin quickly into the mountains, which wasn’t exactly a primitive forest, but the area was still quite large.
The deep mountains were seldom visited by people, naturally, there were no roads, so Ling Feng simply held Fei’er’s waist, weaving through the mountains and rocks.
Soon, the Qilin entered a grove, and within Ling Feng’s Divine Sense, he saw the end of the grove was a cliff, with a drop of dozens of meters high, below was a dark canyon.
By now, the Qilin had stopped by the cliff, Ling Feng and Fei’er arrived shortly and stopped too.
Fei’er stepped forward, petted the Qilin’s dark fur, then turned to Ling Feng and said, "Uncle, it says there’s a cave below, where it needs something and hopes we can retrieve it!"
"Alright!"
Ling Feng stepped to the edge of the cliff, leaned forward to take a look.
His Divine Sense saw a black cave entrance, with a misty black fog at the entrance blocking its entry!
Seeing this, Ling Feng furrowed his brow: "What’s going on here?"
But having come this far, turning back was certainly out of the question!
So he said to Fei’er: "You wait up here, I’ll go down and check it out!"
"No, I’m coming with you!"
Fei’er pouted, directly wrapped her arms around his arm, "Can’t let you go on an adventure alone!"
"What danger could there be? Don’t worry!" Ling Feng laughed.
"No way!"
Fei’er was determined, holding onto his arm tightly.
Seeing this, Ling Feng had no choice but to nod: "Alright, then come down with me, but you must hold onto my waist tightly, don’t let go!"
"I know, don’t worry!"
Fei’er smiled slightly, hugged Ling Feng’s waist with both arms, looking content.
Helpless, Ling Feng drew the God Slayer Saber and then jumped down!
Near the cave, he suddenly wielded the saber, striking horizontally to embed the blade into the rock wall!
His body paused, taking advantage of the momentary buffer, Ling Feng withdrew the blade, jumped onto the cave’s rocky entrance.
Once settled, Fei’er let go, then looked at the mist: "What is this?"
"I’m not sure, maybe it’s a Teleportation Array!"
Ling Feng said, reaching to hold her small hand, "Let’s go over and see!"
With that, the two stepped forward, entering the mist.
In the blink of an eye, they found themselves in a sunlit valley!
"My gosh, is this another time-space fragment?" Fei’er asked with wide eyes.
