Chapter 1233 Waiting for the Opportunity
Chapter 1233 Waiting for the Opportunity
Seeing the scene in the valley, Ling Feng was at a loss for words.
Looking down at Little Yu in his arms, he couldn’t help but say, "What’s going on? Those people don’t seem to be in a hurry at all!"
"They’re making careful preparations before going. After all, the Giant Dragon is still extremely difficult for them to deal with!" Little Yu said.
Ling Feng thought that was true, so he asked, "What should we do then? Keep waiting?"
"Let’s just wait. There’s no hurry!" Little Yu said.
"Alright."
Seeing her say that, Ling Feng also didn’t say anything more.
Anyway, with the cute little girl in his arms, it felt pretty good, and he didn’t mind waiting being boring.
Watching the people below set up tents and then start cooking with an alcohol stove, Ling Feng finally asked Little Yu, "Are you hungry?"
"I can go days without eating. Did seeing them eat make you feel hungry?" Little Yu asked.
"I’m fine; I’m just worried you might be hungry!" Ling Feng laughed.
Little Yu looked up at him: "Really?"
Before Ling Feng could speak, she continued to ask, "If I were hungry, what would you do?"
Ling Feng chuckled, "Of course, I’d make you something to eat!"
"Alright then, make something for me!" Little Yu nodded.
"Okay."
Ling Feng didn’t know why she suddenly changed her mind, so he said, "It’s too cramped here. Let’s go to the hill behind us. Anyway, those people are all within my Divine Sense range, and I can detect any movement."
"Hmm."
Little Yu nodded, letting him lead her out of the crevice and returning to the other side of the mountain.
Here the snow was thick, and Ling Feng pulled out the God Slayer sword, made a few cuts, and dug out a big hole in the sloped snow.
Little Yu watched with interest, not knowing what he was up to.
It wasn’t until a moment later that she understood, Ling Feng was just creating a snow cave to shelter them from the wind!
"I never thought you could do this!" Little Yu laughed.
"I learned it just now. The snow here is solid enough to make such a snow cave."
Ling Feng said, feeling the space inside the cave was adequate, then gestured to her, "Come in. I’ll make food for you!"
"Sure!"
Little Yu stepped into the snow cave, and Ling Feng laid out a waterproof cloth and mat on the ground, making it quite comfortable to sit.
Then he took out some wood and placed it at the entrance.
Since this was a snow cave, starting a fire inside was clearly not an option; if the temperature got too high, the snow overhead would melt, potentially burying them inside.
But even at the entrance, lighting the fire caused a surge of warmth to flow into the cave.
Feeling this warmth, Little Yu sighed contentedly, "This is so nice!"
"Seems you’re afraid of the cold!" Ling Feng turned back with a smile.
Little Yu stuck out her tongue, "Not cold anymore!"
Seeing her like this, Ling Feng almost couldn’t help but laugh.
But realizing that business was important, he quickly turned back and earnestly began preparing the barbecue.
Half an hour passed, and the aroma of meat filled the air.
Little Yu was already a bit impatient, crouching by the fire and nearly drooling.
And the more she acted like that, the stronger Ling Feng’s sense of accomplishment grew.
Soon, he handed the sizzling, juicy barbecue to Little Yu, who eagerly accepted it and began devouring it.
Ling Feng watched her eat with a smile, finding her incredibly cute.
"Why aren’t you eating?"
Little Yu asked, chewing on the meat, speaking indistinctly.
"Watching you eat is enough. That’s what they call ’a feast for the eyes’!" Ling Feng laughed.
Any other girl would have understood he was flirting, but Little Yu showed no reaction, merely nodded and continued eating.
While watching her eat meat, Ling Feng’s Divine Sense was still locked onto the people in the neighboring valley. Most of the group had finished eating and were resting in their tents, except for three individuals who had left the camp and headed into the mountains.
Watching them for a while, Ling Feng saw the three reach the valley’s end, where one of them took out something dark, using it like a metal detector to scout around.
Finding it interesting, Ling Feng said to Little Yu, "Those people still don’t know the Giant Dragon’s exact location; they’re detecting now!"
"Hmm, no rush. Once they open up the snow, we can swoop in and seize the advantage!" Little Yu said nonchalantly.
Ling Feng nodded, handing her another skewer of meat, "No problem."
With Divine Sense locked, the person holding the disc leaped, making several marks on the snow to form a basketball court-sized circular area.
Afterward, he returned to the camp with the other two.
With dusk approaching, seeing those people retreat into their tents, Ling Feng felt somewhat speechless.
It seemed they didn’t intend to take action tonight; they went straight to sleep!
Perplexed, he looked back at Little Yu, "Why aren’t they in a hurry? Is there a difference between day and night?"
"Maybe they’re too tired from the journey and want to recover before proceeding?" Little Yu guessed.
"Alright."
Ling Feng nodded and took out his satellite phone.
The ringtone sounded for over forty seconds before Zhang He answered drowsily, "Hello?"
"Sleeping?" Ling Feng asked, surprised.
"Of course, it’s midnight. Why wouldn’t I be sleeping?"
Zhang He visibly checked the time before asking irritably.
"What time is it there?" Ling Feng asked.
"Half past twelve at night!" Zhang He said, not in a good mood.
"Oh, then no wonder. It’s just sunset here."
Ling Feng chuckled, showing little remorse. As the director, he must possess this composure; no matter how soundly asleep, he must get up to take a call if something happens!
After laughing it off, he asked, "How did Gerard settle in?"
"All’s good; Ling Yao and the others returned smoothly. If there was a problem, wouldn’t I have called you?" Zhang He said.
"Mm, any movement from The Holy See?" Ling Feng continued.
"Not yet, almost twenty-four hours have passed, and they seem to be blocking the news!" Zhang He said.
Ling Feng chuckled, "Let them block it then. I’ve wounded them twice, and the third stab is coming soon; only they know how painful it is!"
"What’s the situation on your side now?" Zhang He asked.
Ling Feng described the scene there and then said, "Looks like we’ll wait until dawn to take action!"
"Mm, good luck then. We’ll throw you a victory party when you return!" Zhang He said.
After ending the call, Ling Feng turned back to see Little Yu staring at him, prompting him to ask in puzzlement, "What’s up?"
"Uh, the barbecue is gone, but I still want more!" Little Yu said.
Ling Feng looked down to find the seven or eight skewers he roasted had been completely devoured by her!
Unable to resist laughing, he said, "Wow, your appetite is catching up with Yang Guang’s now!"
