Chapter 1225: My Purpose is the Same
Chapter 1225: My Purpose is the Same
Pete was somewhat baffled, not knowing how Ling Feng knew something was wrong at Gerard’s place. But given the urgency of the situation, he could discern the importance, so he didn’t ask much and just pressed his ear against the door.
However, the door wasn’t shut and made a slight creak, opening directly!
Ling Feng had locked his Divine Sense inside the room, knowing there was no one by the entrance, so he simply pulled Pete inside.
Voices filled with anger came from within, and Pete quickly played his role as a translator, whispering to Ling Feng, "Gerard is questioning what the other person intends to do."
"The man said he wants Gerard to help him get into the vault, or he’ll kill his family if he refuses!"
"Gerard said it’s impossible, he can’t make this decision alone."
The conversation continued, and although it was in the local language, Ling Feng found one voice somewhat familiar, as if he’d heard it somewhere before, but he wasn’t quite sure.
Hearing Pete’s translation, he thought to himself that this must be their aim. But how did the other party come up with such an idea? Could he also have spatial equipment and thus thought along the same lines?
A fierce argument broke out inside the room, and then Pete’s eyes widened with horror as he turned back, "Boss, that man wants to kill Gerard’s child!"
"Hmm?"
Ling Feng, upon hearing this, thought to himself, how deranged could someone be?
The scene inside the room was within his Divine Sense; indeed, the man’s dagger was pointed at one of the children, making the situation extremely critical.
As he prepared to rush out, an Eastern-faced woman suddenly spoke up: "Kong Sheng, I know it’s you. Stop threatening me and the children!"
"Hmm?"
Ling Feng’s eyes widened; the masked man was actually Kong Sheng?
"How did you recognize me?"
Removing the mask, Kong Sheng revealed his true face and asked in a deep voice.
"I know it’s you. I’ve known you for ten years, and your stance is unmistakable!" the woman said.
"Alright, I figured this might happen!" Kong Sheng’s voice had been intentionally altered before, but now it returned to normal, and Ling Feng instantly remembered.
If it had been that voice earlier, he would have immediately known it was Kong Sheng; that guy’s voice was etched in his mind!
"You didn’t die after all, did you plan this on purpose?" the woman asked.
"That’s not something you need to worry about. What you need to do now is convince Gerard to help me!" Kong Sheng said tersely.
The woman scoffed, "Kong Sheng, you know the rules of The Holy See. Even if he agrees, there’s no way you can enter the vault!"
"I don’t care; solutions are made by people. His task is to find a way to get me in, or else..."
A cold gleam appeared in Kong Sheng’s eyes as he pointed the dagger at a little boy, "I can really kill all your children one by one!"
"Are you insane!"
The girl panicked and stood up, ready to rush forward!
But Kong Sheng instantly kicked out, hitting the woman’s chest and knocking her against the wall. He then sneered, "I’m insane, Su Xia. I’m no longer the Kong Sheng I was. You’d better behave!"
"You..."
Su Xia was obviously injured internally, a trickle of blood at the corner of her mouth. She feebly raised her hand to point at Kong Sheng but couldn’t utter a word.
The three children were terrified, crying and rushing into their mother’s arms, turning the room into chaos.
Meanwhile, Gerard’s face was grim. Bare-handed, he was naturally powerless against Kong Sheng.
His family was threatened, yet he was helpless—this was the most frustrating thing for a man.
Kong Sheng, on the other hand, smiled smugly and said to him, "My patience is limited. You have half a day. If you can’t come up with a plan, prepare to bury your wife and kids!"
At this point, Ling Feng knew he couldn’t hesitate any longer, so he turned to give Pete a look.
Pete understood, nodding slightly.
He was an ordinary man; safeguarding himself was enough. He didn’t need to worry about anything else and left it to Ling Feng.
Immediately, Pete felt a blur before his eyes, and Ling Feng had already vanished.
Then he heard a dull thud from inside the room, followed by chaos!
The children’s screams, the thumping of punches, and Kong Sheng’s furious roars echoed, making Pete’s scalp tingle as he thought, Boss, hopefully, you can beat that guy?
A moment later, there was a crashing sound, like glass shattering, and then the room fell into momentary silence.
Pete stood there stunned, not knowing what had happened.
Then Ling Feng’s voice rang out: "Come in!"
"Phew!"
Pete let out a sigh of relief and rushed into the room.
He found the room in disarray, clearly the result of the fierce battle just now.
Not seeing Kong Sheng, Pete quickly asked, "Where is he?"
"I kicked him off the building. If he didn’t die, he’s heavily injured!" Ling Feng replied.
"That’s good!"
Pete nodded, turning to look at Gerard and his family, then asked, "What now?"
"Whatever needs to be done, just do it!"
Ling Feng smiled and looked at the woman named Su Xia: "Are you from Huaxia too?"
"Sort of... yes..."
Facing these two sudden arrivals, Su Xia was still very tense.
Both had Western faces but spoke fluent Huaxia. She didn’t know what they were up to.
Ling Feng understood from her words that she was an overseas Chinese, so he nodded: "What’s your relationship with Kong Sheng?"
"He was once my student. Who are you?" Su Xia asked.
"It’s best not to ask about our identities. Now that I’ve driven him away, your family is safe. No need to be afraid!" Ling Feng said.
Su Xia nodded, "Thank you both."
Indeed, if it weren’t for Ling Feng’s intervention, her family might not have easily escaped the predicament. Kong Sheng had gone mad and would do anything.
But just after she expressed her thanks, Ling Feng smiled, "If you really want to thank me, then do me a favor!"
"..."
Su Xia was stunned, staring wide-eyed.
Ling Feng smiled, "I also want to ask Mr. Gerard for help, to take me into the vault!"
"This..."
Su Xia was directly confused, looking at Ling Feng in bewilderment, thinking, what’s going on today? Why is everyone targeting my husband?
"Who are you?"
Gerard spoke at this moment, also in Huaxia, but it wasn’t very fluent, barely understandable.
Ling Feng looked at him, "Of course, I can’t tell you my identity. I don’t want to threaten your family’s safety either. Huaxia has a saying: ’It’s impolite not to reciprocate.’ I saved them, hoping you can return the favor and help me!"
