The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1174: Want to Bet Again?

Chapter 1174: Want to Bet Again?

A moment later, Little Dao’s breathing stabilized, and his complexion turned rosy.

Seeing that he was conscious but clearly still a little dazed, Ling Feng chuckled and said, "Don’t think too much about it. You’re fine now, that’s all that matters!"

"Feng... Feng Bro, are those girls you brought here goddesses?" Little Dao asked in amazement.

Ling Feng grinned, "Yes, they’re goddesses!"

The reason he said this was because he’d already treated this kid as one of his own.

After hearing this, Little Dao didn’t act astonished. Instead, he had an expression of sudden realization: "That explains it. Otherwise, with these injuries, I’d be dead before even making it to the hospital!"

"As long as I’m here, you risked your life to save me—how could I let you wind up in trouble?"

Ling Feng chuckled and then said, "Take a seat and rest for now. I’ll check out the situation over there!"

After saying this, he got out of the car and headed to the concealed spot where the gunmen were.

Seeing several men lying on the ground foaming at the mouth, Ling Feng frowned slightly!

All of them had Western faces, dressed in camouflage combat uniforms, equipped with both long guns and short guns. They didn’t look like ordinary shooters but rather well-trained warriors!

Upon witnessing this, Ling Feng scratched his head. Just earlier, he had thought Han Chang sent people to deal with him—but now, looking at the situation, it didn’t seem like Han Chang could find people like this to kill him in such a short time.

While he was still contemplating, Ling Yao walked over and asked, "What’s going on?"

"These men are professionals, rigorously trained. I’m trying to figure out who sent them!" Ling Feng said.

Ling Yao glanced at him, sighed, and said, "Even if they’re trained, you shouldn’t have been caught off guard so easily, right?"

"It was my carelessness—I didn’t deploy my Divine Sense." Ling Feng said ruefully.

"So, what do you plan to do now?" Ling Yao asked.

"I’ll find someone to gather some intel, see if I can trace who was behind this." Ling Feng replied.

"Alright, go ahead and investigate. I’ll leave with Little Yu and the others now!"

Ling Yao said this and turned to leave, but Ling Feng quickly called out, "Since you’re here, why not stick around for a bit? I also promised to buy Little Yu some alcohol."

"Alright, we’ll go with Ling Long, and you handle your own matters!"

Ling Yao said before turning away.

The girls took the car and left, as Ghost Master and his men arrived at the scene.

Seeing the situation, Ghost Master frowned immediately.

He then said to Ling Feng, "Things like this haven’t happened on Ao Island in over twenty years!"

"Are you referring to the appearance of professional soldiers?" Ling Feng asked.

Ghost Master nodded, "Exactly. There are rules here. Disagreements among gangs can lead to fights or shootings. But hiring outsiders to assassinate others—that breaks the rules!"

"So you’re saying this wasn’t Han Chang’s doing?" Ling Feng asked.

"It wouldn’t be him, unless he’s gone completely mad!" Ghost Master said gravely.

Ling Feng nodded, "Alright then, I’ll try other ways to figure out where these people came from."

After saying this, he stepped forward to take photos of the men. When he turned around, he saw Ghost Master’s men digging pits by the roadside to bury the bodies. Ling Feng quickly said, "No need to bury them—I have a way to handle this!"

Once everyone had confiscated the weapons from the dead men, Ling Feng pulled out a few fire-attribute Five Elements Fruits and threw them onto the bodies!

With a *whoosh*, flames shot up over two meters into the air, and the scorching heat made everyone nearby take a few steps back.

A moment later, the bodies were burned down to a pile of black ash, which the wind soon scattered.

It was then that Little Dao slowly walked over: "Feng Bro, you saved my life, so from now on, you’re my master!"

Though his injuries had healed, his stamina was still drained and he needed another two days of rest to fully recover.

Hearing this, Ling Feng merely smiled and said, "Don’t say things like that. We’re brothers. If not for you, I might’ve been shot. Let’s not talk about owing lives anymore, or we’ll never stop bickering about it!"

"Got it, I understand!"

Little Dao nodded firmly.

Seeing this, Ghost Master chuckled, "Since that’s the case, Dao Boy, you should just stay by Mr. Ling’s side from now on!"

"Huh?"

Little Dao froze for a second and then said in alarm, "Ghost Master, are... are you abandoning me?"

"Why would I? I’m just trying to fulfill your desire to repay him!" Ghost Master laughed.

"It might not be very appropriate for him to stay with me—I think Dao Go should remain on Ao Island. He seems to be tied to this place and reluctant to leave!" Ling Feng said with a smile.

This one sentence hit Little Dao right in the heart, and he scratched his head awkwardly: "Thank you, Feng Bro!"

Before parting ways, Ghost Master said to Ling Feng, "Be extra vigilant once you return—don’t let yourself get ambushed again!"

"Don’t worry, sir. It was my negligence earlier. It won’t happen again!" Ling Feng smiled.

Little Dao then left in Ghost Master’s car, while Ling Feng switched to another vehicle and was driven back to the hotel.

By this time, the sky had reached dusk, and the sun was just setting over the horizon.

Ling Feng stepped into the hotel lobby, intending to head upstairs, but was suddenly approached by a middle-aged man carrying a briefcase: "Are you Mr. Ling?"

"Yes, that’s me. And you are?"

Ling Feng looked at the man, feeling that he seemed somewhat familiar, though he couldn’t recall where they had met before.

The middle-aged man smiled slightly, "My name is Han Guang. I’m Mr. Han’s steward. During last night’s gambling match, I was in the audience nearby."

"Oh, what’s your business with me?"

Ling Feng’s heart stirred. After just having an incident, Han Chang’s people had come looking for him—what was this about?

Han Guang chuckled, "It’s like this: After Mr. Han lost a sizable sum to you last night, he was very upset and couldn’t sleep all night long. He feels it’s the biggest setback of his life and is unwilling to accept it, so he wants to gamble with you again!"

"Oh, really?"

Ling Feng’s eyebrows rose as he thought to himself, "This Han guy really hasn’t lost enough, has he?"

"Indeed!"

Han Guang nodded, "But no need to rush, Mr. Ling. The new gambling match isn’t tonight. Mr. Han wants to discuss the terms of the match and the amount of funds required on both sides first. Once everything is clear, then proceed."

"Where is he? How do I talk to him?" Ling Feng asked.

"Mr. Han isn’t on Ao Island. He left for the Mainland early this morning and will be back tomorrow. In the meantime, it’s up to me to discuss the details with you. Actually, it’s not much of a discussion, as I’ve already drafted the rules of the match. As long as you review them and have no issues, just sign and agree," Han Guang said.

"Alright, let me take a look."

Ling Feng wasn’t sure if the other party was up to something shady, but he nodded anyway.

Han Guang took out a document from his briefcase and handed it to Ling Feng, saying, "My contact information is on there. Feel free to reach out whenever you’re ready."
