Chapter 1144: The Prime Culprit

Everyone in the intelligence center momentarily dropped what they were working on and focused on analyzing the street surveillance footage.

According to the killer’s confession, the time and place of the incident were clear, but unfortunately, there were no cameras at the location.

However, Gu Li still ordered his people to retrieve the surrounding surveillance footage and analyze every person captured on video.

Ling Feng wasn’t idle either. His eyes were fixed on the massive screen in front of him, divided into more than twenty smaller screens, all showing street scenes.

As the images flickered rapidly, Ling Feng’s brow suddenly furrowed. He immediately pointed at one of the screens and said, "Rewind that one!"

Gu Li instantly instructed the others to rewind the footage while asking, "Boss, what did you notice?"

"Hmm, I just saw a shadow flash by. Looks familiar!" Ling Feng nodded.

The footage quickly rewound and was zoomed in. The person’s face filled the screens covering the entire wall.

Ling Feng narrowed his eyes!

Seeing this, Mo Jiaolan immediately asked, "Who is that?"

"A person I just met not long ago!"

Ling Feng let out a cold chuckle and turned to Gu Li, saying, "Track this person’s movements immediately!"

As the unequivocal leader here, his words sent everyone into action. They copied the person’s appearance onto their computers and started running checks.

In just moments, someone exclaimed, "Found him! He’s at Jin Tai Hotel!"

"Has he checked out yet?" Ling Feng asked.

"Not yet. He checked in yesterday and hasn’t checked out since!"

"Good!"

Ling Feng clenched his teeth and sneered before saying to Mo Jiaolan, "I’ll go find him. I’ll explain everything later!"

This time, Mo Jiaolan didn’t suggest going with him and merely said flatly, "Alright, we’ll wait for you here!"

Ling Feng shot a glance at Gu Li, who immediately followed him as they went downstairs together.

Once in the car, Gu Li, while driving, asked, "Boss, who is this guy?"

"The Li Family from Huaxia. Ever heard of them?" Ling Feng asked.

Gu Li stiffened momentarily before nodding. "I’ve heard about them. Seems they have some power in southern Huaxia. A relatively large family!"

Li Wen and Li Wu were twin brothers whose faces were remarkably similar. The grainy image earlier hadn’t allowed Ling Feng to discern exactly who it was.

But judging by the expression on the man’s face, it bore some resemblance to the ever-expressionless Li Wu, which made Ling Feng confident it was him!

On their way to Jin Tai Hotel, Ling Feng shared his encounter with Mu Lingling in Tang Family Village and her interactions with the Li Family.

After listening, Gu Li chuckled. "A family of martial artists clinging to ancient grudges—they’re pitifully shortsighted. It’s no wonder they’re fading into obscurity. No one even talks about them in the martial world anymore!"

As they spoke, they arrived at the hotel. Inside the lobby, Gu Li struck up a conversation with the receptionist, effortlessly extracting Li Wu’s room number while chatting congenially.

The two then headed upstairs and stopped at the room door.

Ling Feng had already locked onto the room through his Divine Sense. Inside, there were two people: one was Li Wu, and the other was an unfamiliar face. Judging by the latter’s appearance and skin tone, he was from Mianluo Country!

Without hesitation, Ling Feng brought his leg up and smashed the door into pieces. Hands clasped behind his back and expression stony, he stepped into the room.

Li Wu was visibly startled to see Ling Feng, quickly narrowing his eyes.

Noticing Li Wu’s reaction, Ling Feng smirked coldly. "What’s the matter? Didn’t expect me to show up, huh?"

"I really didn’t."

Li Wu nodded and then asked, "How did you find me here?"

"Finding someone is much easier than you think."

Ling Feng let out another cold laugh, turned to the man from Mianluo Country, and asked sternly, "Who is this? Your local contact?"

"That’s correct!"

Li Wu answered calmly.

While Li Wu remained poised, his contact was clearly terrified. The man stood up in fright and cautiously stepped back two paces.

Ling Feng smirked at the sight. "Speak! Who are you, and how did you know the water delivery worker was supplying my branch office?"

"I..."

The man hesitated and turned to glance at Li Wu.

"Speak! Neither of us will survive today anyway. If you spill it now, at least you can die with some dignity!" Li Wu said solemnly.

This caught Ling Feng off guard, and he gave Li Wu a curious glance but chose not to comment.

The man from Mianluo Country stammered, trembling, "I work near your company’s building. I noticed that water delivery guy..."

"So that’s it!"

Ling Feng sneered. His figure blurred as he instantly appeared in front of the man!

The man was startled and didn’t even have time to react before losing consciousness.

Ling Feng then looked at Li Wu. "You’re right. He cooperated, so I gave him a painless death."

"What do you want me to say now?" Li Wu asked.

"I don’t need you to speak. I’ll find out everything I want to know myself!"

Ling Feng said as he swiftly struck!

Although Li Wu had resigned himself to death, deep down, he wasn’t ready to give in. He instantly tried to block Ling Feng’s attack!

But the difference in their skills was significant. A sickening crack sounded as Ling Feng broke Li Wu’s arm!

Li Wu attempted to bite his tongue to commit suicide, but Ling Feng was faster, immobilizing him by sealing his pressure points!

With a cold voice, Ling Feng interrogated, "Who sent you?"

"What is Li Kun’s role?"

"I see!"

Within just a few questions, Ling Feng had pieced together everything he needed to know!

Pulling Li Wu’s phone from his pocket, Ling Feng unlocked it using his face and located Li Kun’s contact information.

Li Wu stood motionless, unsure of Ling Feng’s intentions.

Even Gu Li looked confused, staring at Ling Feng with puzzled eyes.

Ling Feng initiated a video call. When the call connected, he pointed the camera at Li Wu’s face.

Li Kun glanced at the screen and asked casually, "Is everything done?"

Li Wu: "..."

"Why aren’t you speaking? Did something happen in Guo City?" Li Kun pressed, sensing something was off.

Li Wu: "..."

Just as Li Kun realized something was wrong, Ling Feng shifted the camera to himself. Glaring at him, he said, "You’re Li Yan’s father, right?"

"You... Who are you?"

Li Kun froze, then widened his eyes in shock.

"The name’s Ling Feng!"

"It’s you!"
