Chapter 1054: Scars
Chapter 1054: Scars
By now, Duan Feihong had also finished questioning Ni Hong.
Her eyes were red; although she didn’t cry, her emotions were very heightened, her shoulders trembling non-stop.
Seeing her like this, Ling Feng stepped forward to comfort her: "Alright, I know you are very disappointed, but fortunately, this woman hasn’t made a grave mistake. Don’t be angry anymore."
Duan Feihong didn’t speak, biting her lip and staring at Ni Hong, who clearly felt guilty and thus kept her head down, not daring to look at her.
The helicopter landed on the lawn outside, and soon a group from the Security Agency burst into the villa.
To Ling Feng’s surprise, Han Wancheng himself had come.
Dressed in a military uniform, he entered with an extremely imposing presence, scanning the room with a gaze that finally fixed on Cis as he asked in a deep voice, "Is this the old man?"
"Yes, he’s an Elder of the Beast Clan, just now he was in the shape of a cat, nearly discovered me!" Ling Feng said.
Hearing this, Han Wancheng gave Cis a surprised look, then turned to the people behind him and said, "Take him away first, we’ll interrogate him when we get back!"
After speaking, he turned to look at the two women in the house. Seeing this, Ling Feng quickly said, "That one called Ni Hong is Cis’s puppet, and she also committed the act of attempting to murder her husband."
Han Wancheng nodded slightly, not saying a word, but gave a meaningful look to the people beside him.
Immediately, Ni Hong was led away by several soldiers and taken onto the helicopter.
"Are you coming with me to the headquarters?" Han Wancheng asked.
"No need, just inform me when there’s any movement on Director Han’s end." Ling Feng said.
"Knew you wouldn’t go back!"
Han Wancheng glared at him, clearly implying something.
But he didn’t continue, and instead said, "I’ll be leaving first!"
Ling Feng smiled: "Director Han, take care!"
Watching him board the plane and leave, Ling Feng turned to Duan Feihong, "Alright, let’s go too!"
"Hmm."
Duan Feihong’s mood was still down, she nodded slightly, then followed Ling Feng out of the villa.
As they drove back to the city, she seemed to remember something and asked, "The Director Han just now, he seemed like a General?"
"Yes!"
Ling Feng knew he couldn’t hide it, so he said, "He’s the head of the Security Headquarters, and I am a Detective at the local branch."
"Oh..."
Duan Feihong prolonged her voice, her face showing a dawning realization.
Then she laughed and said, "So Mr. Ling came to Capital City for the Security Agency’s affairs."
"Yes, that’s why it involves some secrets, I couldn’t tell you too many details." Ling Feng said.
"I understand!"
Duan Feihong nodded: "When I was young, my dream was also to become a soldier, but due to physical constraints, I couldn’t join the army, I’ve always felt regret about it!"
"Physical constraints?"
Ling Feng was taken aback for a moment, then asked, "I didn’t notice anything wrong with your health!"
"You can’t see it."
Duan Feihong’s face turned red, her gaze fixed on the road ahead: "I have scars on my body."
"Oh."
Ling Feng understood; Huaxia’s conscription standards are very strict. Having scars or tattoos on the body typically results in rejection.
After hesitating for a moment, he couldn’t help but ask, "Where are they, if I may ask?"
"Uh..."
Duan Feihong’s face turned even redder; seeing this, Ling Feng hurriedly said, "Never mind if it’s not comfortable for you!"
"Hmm." Duan Feihong nodded.
Ling Feng thought to himself, although she didn’t say, he had a rough idea of where they might be; no doubt they were in a sensitive part of her body.
Thinking of this, Ling Feng continued, "Actually, I do have a way to help you get rid of the scar."
The swiftly moving car suddenly shook, and then Duan Feihong quickly slowed down: "Really?"
"Don’t get so excited, it’s true. You just need to get some herbs and concoct an ointment, and apply it regularly."
"That’s great. I’ve sought many famous doctors for this scar since I was young, but none could deal with it. If Mr. Ling can help, I’ll owe you a huge favor!" Duan Feihong said.
"Don’t say that, I’m just happy to help!" Ling Feng responded with a laugh.
Duan Feihong was still very excited and then asked: "Is it hard to find the herbs?"
"Not hard to find. If we pass by a herbal shop later, we can just buy some," Ling Feng said.
"Okay!"
Duan Feihong nodded and while driving, her gaze began to drift towards the shops on the roadside.
Seeing her like this, Ling Feng quickly reminded her: "You should focus on driving, I’ll look out for the pharmacy!"
"Oh, that’s good too!"
Duan Feihong gave an awkward smile and firmly gripped the steering wheel.
A few kilometers ahead, Ling Feng spotted a pharmacy on the roadside, so he suggested they stop.
The two got out of the car and entered the pharmacy.
A medicinal fragrance hit them as they walked in; an old man behind the counter was writing something down. Hearing someone enter, he asked without lifting his head, "What do you need?"
"A few herbs."
Ling Feng approached the counter and listed the herbs he wanted.
The old man was taken aback upon hearing him, then raised his head to look at Ling Feng: "Where did you get this prescription from?"
"It’s my own. What about it?" Ling Feng asked.
"Your own?"
The old man was even more astonished, sizing up Ling Feng with disbelief: "Young man, how old are you to be prescribing your own remedies?"
"Is there a problem?" Ling Feng queried.
"There’s a big problem. Those herbs are all highly toxic, mixing them together could kill someone, you know!" the old man said.
Ling Feng responded nonchalantly, "You’ve misunderstood, this medicine isn’t for ingestion, but for topical application."
"Hmm?"
The old man was taken aback, narrowing his eyes: "For application?"
All those herbs were for oral use; he had never heard of them being used topically!
Therefore, the old man asked with a puzzled face: "What illness are you planning to treat with this?"
"Scars," Ling Feng stated.
"...."
The old man’s expression changed instantly.
After his surprise, he became somewhat excited and quickly came out from behind the counter, bowing to Ling Feng: "I never would have expected your prescription to be so offbeat!"
Ling Feng was a bit speechless, not expecting the old man to be so stirred up, so he said with a smile: "Old man, don’t be so excited. I’m here to pick up herbs. Could you prepare them for me first?"
"Oh, right, right, right, I got too carried away!"
The old man must have felt quite embarrassed, so he quickly returned to the counter and while preparing the medicine, asked: "Young man, what’s your last name?"
"I’m Ling."
"Mr. Ling, I won’t charge you a penny for these herbs. Can you let me see the effects of the treatment when you do it?" the old man inquired.
"Uh, that might not be possible!"
Hearing this, Ling Feng immediately shook his head and added: "The person’s scar is in a sensitive area, it can’t just be shown to anyone!"
"That’s really a pity!"
The old man seemed somewhat disappointed, but then his eyes lit up: "What if we change the person? Just find someone else with a scar, wouldn’t that work?"
