Ah Wei covered his face and stood up: "You deserve to be hit!"
Just now, he had been slapped dizzy by Ling Feng and was only just coming to his senses.
Looking at his swollen cheek, Ling Feng smiled and said, "Here’s a piece of advice for you, don’t go down the criminal path of no return, otherwise the consequences will be troublesome!"
"Who are you trying to scare? You haven’t even bothered asking around. People from our Xiao Beizhuang are respected even in the Capital City!" Ah Wei shouted loudly.
"Oh? Is it famous for being a fraud village?" Ling Feng asked.
He had realized that these people were all in cahoots. He had just disrupted their signal jammer, so he hadn’t experienced their strong-arm tactics, which was a bit regrettable.
Ling Feng’s comment incited a barrage of curses from the crowd immediately.
But as much as they cursed, no one dared to step forward to hit Ling Feng.
Because they had all witnessed how effortlessly this young man had knocked down four men with a flick of his wrist; everybody knew they’d get beaten up if they approached!
Not daring to lay hands, the crowd still wouldn’t disperse and instead surrounded Ling Feng and the bus, making it clear that no one would be allowed to leave without paying!
Ling Feng let out a cold laugh and asked Ah Wei, "Kid, do you know that what you’re doing is already considered illegal?"
"Is that so? I don’t care, we’ve got numbers on our side. Even if you bring the police, they can’t do anything. I don’t believe they would arrest an entire village of people!" Ah Wei said brazenly.
"Oh, you seem very experienced with this!"
Ling Feng smiled, knowing this guy must have done similar things before.
Ah Wei sneered: "You’ve got two options: either each of you pays 600 yuan for the ride, or you can spend the night in the bus!"
"Keep dreaming, I’ve already called for a ride and we’ll be able to leave soon!" Ling Feng said with a smile.
"Haha, if a car can enter Xiao Beizhuang, I’ll take your family name!" Ah Wei boasted arrogantly with an overconfident smile.
Ling Feng shook his head: "Please don’t do that; taking my surname would dishonor my ancestors!"
"You!"
Anger filled Ah Wei’s eyes, but he was at a loss; he didn’t want to be slapped again!
Both sides were in a deadlock. Ling Feng remained motionless and the passengers on the bus looked on, while the villagers formed a circle as if determined not to let them leave!
After a stalemate of several minutes, the sound of car engines revved up. Because the entrance of the village was blocked by trees, the actual vehicles couldn’t be seen yet.
Hearing the noise, Ah Wei immediately shouted to the villagers: "Everyone together, block the car, don’t let them in!"
After his words, a bunch of villagers rushed to the entrance!
But when the approaching car came into view, they were dumbfounded!
Because the vehicle was a military truck!
With its dark green paint and a clearly marked military license plate, all the villagers were stunned.
The vehicle drove up, and everyone parted ways without a word!
Two military jeeps and a military bus slowly pulled over to the side of the road.
Several young soldiers dressed in combat uniforms got out of the vehicles and quickly walked up to Ling Feng, saluting, "Hello, Colonel. We’re here to provide support as ordered!"
"You’ve arrived just in time. Let’s get the tourists off this bus and onto ours!" Ling Feng said with a smile.
"Yes, sir!"
After saluting, the soldiers boarded the bus and started to facilitate the passenger’s transfer to the other vehicle.
Meanwhile, Ah Wei and the villagers were at a complete loss, standing there gaping, not even daring to fart!
Although the soldiers did not carry weapons, their very presence in combat uniforms was intimidating enough!
They dare to hassle tourists and even tangle with local police, but when facing iron-blooded soldiers, nobody dares to poke the bear!
The tourists never expected Ling Feng to have military vehicles come to pick them up, so they all boarded the vehicles in a daze as if stepping on cotton.
After sitting down and regaining their senses, people turned to look at Ling Feng, who was still on the ground, with gratitude in their eyes.
Some young female tourists even cast flirtatious glances at Ling Feng.
Too bad Ling Feng didn’t see it; otherwise, he would have been secretly thrilled.
Chen Yan and the others were the last to get on. Ling Feng said to the soldier, "We won’t take the bus. Can I borrow these two jeeps for a bit? I’ll drive them back to the base later."
"Sure, we can just take the one behind!" the soldier replied.
It was evident that Han Wancheng had briefed them before sending them out.
Ling Feng was thus very satisfied, and his irritation with Wancheng seemed to fade quite a bit.
Afterwards, the military vehicles turned around, and the villagers of Xiao Bei watched as everyone left without anyone stepping forward to stop them.
Before getting into the vehicle, Ling Feng patted Ah Wei on the shoulder: "I won’t ask for the eighty bucks per person from you anymore. Learn your lesson and don’t pull these scams in the future!"
"Spare me, I don’t care who you are. Today’s matter ends here. I admit defeat, but I’m not at a loss—I still made over two thousand today!" Ah Wei said with a cold laugh.
"Oh?"
Ling Feng was startled, not expecting this guy to be such a tough nut to crack.
So he nodded, "Alright, consider yourself impressive."
After saying that, Ling Feng turned, got in the jeep, and drove away from Xiao Bei Village.
Having driven just over a hundred meters, Chen Yan couldn’t help but ask: "That’s it? That guy clearly hasn’t learned his lesson!"
"I never said we’re done with it. We’ll talk later."
Ling Feng smiled, continued driving a kilometer away from Xiao Bei, then stopped on the roadside.
After unfastening his seat belt, he turned to Chen Yan and the others and said, "Wait here for me, I’ll be back in ten minutes!"
"What are you going to do?" the three asked simultaneously.
"You’ll know soon enough!"
Ling Feng chuckled, opened the door, and got out of the car.
"I’m coming with you!"
Chen Yan, anxious, quickly followed him out of the car.
"You can’t come; it’s easier if I go alone, you’ll give us away!" said Ling Feng.
"How’s that possible? My realm might not be as high as yours, but my strength is not an issue!" Chen Yan argued.
Ling Feng looked at her, "I’m not going to deal with them with fanfare. If that was the case, I would’ve done it earlier. Be good and wait."
After finishing his words, he took out the Invisibility Ring, and disappeared right before her eyes!
"Damn!"
Chen Yan’s eyes widened in shock as she watched Ling Feng vanish into thin air, baffled at how he did it.
What amazed her even more was that Ling Feng spoke from right next to her, "See? Now you understand. Wait for me in the car, I will try to be back in ten minutes!"
With that, he turned and left. As his body moved, it caused a ripple in the air, and Chen Yan could see an invisible figure rapidly departing.
"Invisibility! Ling Feng, you’ve really got a trick up your sleeve!" she exclaimed in admiration.
Meanwhile, Yang Guang poked his head out from the car window, looking somewhat anxious, and asked, "Sister Chen Yan, Ling Feng isn’t going off to massacre the village, is he?"
