Chapter 1031 Captured
Chapter 1031 Captured
In the five cardinal directions – east, south, west, north, and center – an Elder presided over each.
These individuals were the leading figures locally, outwardly either rich businessmen or esteemed gentlemen and celebrities, but their true identities were the Elders of the five directions of the Dragon Soul.
Second only to Ling Feng, the Commander, they were in charge of the Dragon Soul members in their respective directions. Their job was simple: manage and oversee them.
When it came to issuing orders and rallying the members, only the Commander had that authority.
The first to introduce himself was Fei Dacheng, forty-five years old, at the stage of Hua Energy, the wealthiest person in the neighboring province, with companies rooted in various industries and a personal wealth well over a hundred billion.
There’s no need to go into detail about the other four Elders. Anyway, every time Ling Feng heard it, he was shocked anew. Once they had introduced themselves, he was utterly baffled.
Despite being mentally prepared, Ling Feng was still astounded by the true scale of the Dragon Soul he learned about.
The combined capital of these five Elders could easily destroy a mid-to-small-sized country using economic means.
What’s more, combined, their influence in Huaxia was formidable enough. Ling Feng even felt a hint of fear – how could the Security Bureau allow such an organization to exist?
"Mr. Ling, we’re pressed for time; stop thinking about it, and let’s start capturing the demon right away!" Fei Dacheng said.
"Alright, I am still not familiar with your abilities and don’t have a plan yet. Does anyone have any ideas?" Ling Feng asked.
"Yes, Mr. Ling, please go to the vantage point and wait there," came the reply.
Fei Dacheng nodded and turned to the other four Elders, "Get ready to move out!"
"Okay!"
The group nodded, then all together left the Reception Hall.
The five Elders brought nearly a hundred followers; as the crowd dispersed, Ling Feng also made his way to the library.
Once he reached the highest point, the more than a hundred people had already disappeared into various corners of the school, no longer visible.
Ling Feng was somewhat speechless and thought, why did they ask me to come up here if I can’t see anything?
Could it be that they know I possess Divine Sense?
As he was contemplating this, suddenly a quarrel broke out behind him.
Behind the observation deck was a large study room where many students liked to sit by the window; they could enjoy the view outside when tired from studying.
So this place was always in high demand.
And presently, the quarrel was between a couple of students.
Normally, speaking out loud in the study room was not allowed because it would disturb the other students studying.
But for some reason today, these two students started arguing loudly in front of dozens of others.
Ling Feng’s attention was drawn, and he turned to look.
The girl was pressing aggressively, pointing at the boy and loudly berating him with words like scum, heartbreaker, and complaining about how she had misjudged him.
The boy stood his ground, firmly denying the accusations and even biting back, beginning to list the girl’s faults.
The studying students could no longer focus on their books and instead became onlookers, watching the drama unfold.
Whether by coincidence or not, there were no librarians present in the study room, so the quarrel between the two students grew louder with nobody intervening.
The students found it entertaining, but Ling Feng was visibly irritated, thinking to himself that he has important matters to attend to, so could they stop their annoying bickering?
With a frown, he stepped into the study room and shouted, "Noise is prohibited in public places. Stop the noise!"
"Who are you? Get out of here!"
"Yeah, what does this have to do with you? Mind your own business!"
The hostility of that man and woman was all directed at Ling Feng.
"You call yourselves university students with not even a shred of public morality? Truly a disgrace to that title. You have ten seconds to disappear from here!" Ling Feng exclaimed.
The situation was fine until he said that. Promptly, the male student stepped forward, raised his fist, and said, "Wanna meddle in others’ business, huh? Looking for a beating, are you?"
As soon as he finished speaking and swung his fist to strike, Ling Feng tilted his head to avoid the blow and then swiftly pressed on the man’s acupoint.
The male student was immediately immobilized, standing frozen on the spot, which left the female student utterly bewildered.
Shortly thereafter, she let out a shriek and turned to run!
"Don’t bother running. Just wait here!"
Ling Feng sneered coldly, and in a flash, he appeared behind her and lightly touched her as well.
The two of them were frozen in distinct poses: one with a clenched fist ready to punch, the other turning her head to flee. They both maintained the last action they took, looking like some sort of performance art.
As the students watched in stunned silence, Ling Feng turned and left the study room, heading over to the observation deck.
At that moment, a stream of red smoke suddenly rose from the woods in the northwest corner of the school!
Following the appearance of this smoke, sharp sounds echoed from other corners nearby.
Moments later, a swath of green smoke arose in the southwest corner.
Ling Feng looked on somewhat baffled, uncertain of the meaning behind the smoke. Could it be some kind of signal?
It seemed unlikely. With today’s advanced technology, a simple walkie-talkie could do the job. Was there really a need for such a signaling method?
If it wasn’t a signal, then what was it?
As he was pondering, he suddenly noticed that a plume of black smoke rose from within the woods!
This black smoke was all too familiar to him; it was exactly what that person emitted while fleeing before!
Ling Feng realized that the hunt had begun!
Standing on higher ground, he peered down, occasionally spotting a fleeting figure darting between the trees, quickly disappearing from sight.
After activating his Divine Sense, Ling Feng was astonished to discover that over a hundred people had formed a vast net. They contracted and expanded rhythmically, aligning perfectly with some signal - the coordination was impeccable!
Even the two furthest points had individuals whose actions were identical.
With a hundred-man net in play, the black smoke was trapped in the center, and then the people began to close in, encircling it tightly!
"Got it!"
With a glint in his eyes, Ling Feng knew they were finally about to catch that cunning individual!
As expected, a few minutes later, his phone rang. Fei Dacheng reported, "Mr. Ling, the mission is accomplished!"
"Good, wait for me at the Reception Hall!"
Ling Feng nodded and turned to leave, heading down the stairs.
Just as he reached the elevator, he remembered the two individuals he had immobilized with acupoint pressure in the study room. So, he turned back.
Upon entering the room, he saw both were still there, with surrounding students looking on worriedly, unsure of what had transpired.
Approaching, Ling Feng released the two’s acupoints and said coldly, "Remember this—this world is not just about you. Learn to respect the feelings of others. Being completely self-centered will eventually bring you great trouble!"
The man and woman said nothing, didn’t even dare to, and even avoided making eye contact with Ling Feng.
After being frozen in place for over ten minutes, they felt utterly exhausted. Now, they just wanted to sit and rest properly.
