Chapter 1025: Deadlock
Chapter 1025: Deadlock
"Come with me to the Reception Hall, and you’ll naturally understand my good intentions!"
After Ling Feng spoke, he dashed out like a whirlwind. The people around him only caught a blur before their eyes; his voice was still echoing, but he had become invisible.
The students looked at each other in confusion, and even the female doctor was at a loss, feeling as if she had just experienced a hallucination.
At this moment, Ling Feng had already rushed downstairs, his speed unabated as he hurried back to the guest room at the Reception Hall.
Zhou Yi and the others were waiting for him. Seeing Ling Feng return with Chen Yan, all the girls were stunned!
"What’s going on? Why didn’t you treat her there and instead brought her back?" Zhou Yi asked.
"Her physique is undergoing a change; she needs to cool down immediately, or else her brain will get fried!"
Ling Feng said, carrying Chen Yan into the bathroom and placing her directly in the bathtub without undressing her.
The others, upon hearing this, almost all rushed in. Xun Qianqian, dumbfounded, asked: "Is this the same as what happened to you before?"
"Pretty much. Although I still don’t know the reason, the symptoms are nearly identical to what I experienced before!"
Ling Feng said as he turned on the Water Dragon tap.
Chen Yan was burning up at the moment, her complexion so red it looked like it was about to bleed, signaling the severity of the situation to everyone. They all started helping frantically.
Seeing this, Ling Feng stepped out of the bathroom. After all, she was a girl, and it was completely inappropriate for him to stand guard there.
After going to the living room, he asked Zhou Yi, "What did Director Chen say when you called him?"
"He said we could evacuate, just take the egg back for research. But now that something has happened to Chen Yan, I think we should stay a bit longer," Zhou Yi said.
Ling Feng nodded: "Let’s wait for her to wake up and see what exactly happened."
"Okay!"
In the following period, Ling Feng sat in the living room while Zhou Yi and the others took turns looking after Chen Yan as time ticked by.
It wasn’t until late at night that the high temperature on Chen Yan’s body began to subside, and her complexion became less red.
But she was still unconscious, in a deep coma.
Several groups of people from the school came to visit, including Chen Yan’s classmates and school leaders.
Once they learned of Ling Feng and the others’ true identities, their concerns were alleviated, and they confidently allowed her to receive treatment here.
Ling Feng also did not know what Chen Yan would look like when she awoke, but one thing was certain: from now on, she would no longer have the identity of an ordinary person.
As for what follows, they would have to wait until she woke up.
And so, time arrived at 3 a.m., with Chen Yan, who was lying in the bathtub and soaked in cold water, finally opening her eyes.
As soon as she moved, Miao Lanlan, who was watching by the side, immediately asked, "How do you feel?"
"I, why am I here?"
Chen Yan turned her head to look around, inquiring in confusion.
"You suddenly fainted, and you had a serious fever, so you were here cooling down. How do you feel now? Is there any discomfort in your body?" Miao Lanlan asked.
"No, I just feel odd." Chen Yan pursed her lips, struggling to get up from the bathtub.
Miao Lanlan quickly stepped forward to assist her out of the bathtub.
At this moment, Chen Yan was soaking wet, with her clothes clinging tightly to her body, revealing her curves without a doubt.
Lucky that Ling Feng wasn’t here, otherwise he probably wouldn’t have been able to take his eyes off this scene.
"Here are some clean clothes prepared for you, you should change first. Then come to the living room afterward."
Miao Lanlan said this and then turned and left the bathroom.
Ling Feng and the others were there because they heard the conversation in the bathroom and knew that Chen Yan had awakened.
Therefore, everyone was waiting to find out firsthand what had happened to her.
After waiting for several minutes, Chen Yan, who had changed her clothes, came out of the bathroom and, seeing that everyone was there, froze for a moment: "You all... you haven’t slept yet?"
"We were waiting for you, come and take a seat!"
Zhou Yi patted the couch next to her.
Chen Yan uttered an ’oh’ and hesitantly sat down next to her, then cautiously asked, "What happened to me?"
"Your body has undergone a transformation. You were an ordinary person before, but now you’re almost like me," Ling Feng said.
"Ah? I’m not an ordinary person anymore?" Chen Yan asked with wide eyes.
Ling Feng nodded, "Yes, can you now tell me what happened when you were in the classroom?"
"When I was in class..."
Chen Yan exhibited a contemplative look, then said, "It was pretty normal, and then suddenly a gust of wind blew in through the window. The wind was so strong that it caused the books in the classroom to fly about, and I was startled for a moment, and after that, I knew nothing."
Ling Feng responded with an ’oh’ and continued to ask, "So you didn’t feel anything unusual while you were unconscious?"
"Nothing."
Chen Yan looked bewildered and shook her head.
Ling Feng had no choice but to stand up and approach her: "Alright, there’s only one method left now. Give me your hand."
"..."
Chen Yan was somewhat nervous, biting her lip, but still stretched out her hand.
Ling Feng grasped her hand and then asked, "What’s your name?"
"Chen Yan."
"How did you gain your current special abilities?"
"I, I don’t know."
After the two questions, Ling Feng didn’t find any unusual information in her mind.
The answer to the first question was correct; when the second question was asked, her mind was just blank.
And after the earlier examination, Ling Feng didn’t find anything abnormal in her body either.
So, Chen Yan was still herself, but there was no answer as to how her constitution changed so suddenly.
The crux of the matter was that gust of wind, but unfortunately, it was now impossible to investigate further.
The situation had reached an impasse, and Ling Feng’s brows were knitted tightly together.
"How about this, Chen Yan, you go to the bedroom and rest first, Qian Qian, Anna, and Lanlan, you three will be responsible for protecting her. I will return to the Nine Heavens with Ling Feng!"
Zhou Yi said this and stood up.
Ling Feng, thinking it over, felt her arrangement was fine, and thus stood up and said to Chen Yan, "Don’t be nervous, what’s happening to you is a good thing. If it turns out there are no problems, you’ll easily become one of our colleagues!"
"Really? That’s great!" Chen Yan said.
Afterward, Ling Feng and Zhou Yi teleported to the Nine Heavens, and together they went to the Sixth Layer to find Ling Yao.
This was Zhou Yi’s idea. Faced with such a thorny issue, human understanding could not comprehend it, so they had no choice but to ask Ling Yao.
Perhaps she would know something about it.
But when Ling Yao heard their story, she simply shook her head: "I’ve never even heard of this kind of situation you’re describing!"
"A gust of wind that can change a person’s constitution is almost impossible!" Long Xiaoyu also said.
"Alright then, let’s take a look at this thing. Does anyone know what it is?"
Ling Feng sighed helplessly, and took out the white egg from his bracelet.
