Chapter 131: Redeeming Unused Vouchers
Chapter 131: Redeeming Unused Vouchers
It was still the same night before I challenged the ninth scenario.
I actually had two unused Unique-Grade Armament Vouchers instead of just one. The other one was from the sixth scenario’s reward, and it had been collecting dust inside my inventory. Not only those vouchers, but there were also two Gimmel-Tier General Lootbox and three Rare-Grade Elixir Vouchers.
Unique-Grade Armament Voucher x2Gimmel-Tier General Lootbox x2Rare-Grade Elixir Vouchers x3Naturally, there was no reason to let them sit around any longer. With a tap of my finger, I selected the Gimmel-Tier General Lootboxes first and used them both. They materialized as iron chests covered with carvings and patterns on their surfaces. I opened the first one, and a radiant light spilled out, gradually condensing into five small, jewel-like blue candies wrapped in paper wrappers. It released a sweet aroma that tingled my nose.
Blue Star Candy
Grade: Rare
Type: Magic Candy
A magic-infused blueberry-flavored candy crafted by an ancient confectioner-magus. Said to be irresistibly delicious.
Increase Magic Power by 20% for 30 minutes and restores 200 MP upon consumption.Warning: Excessive consumption may cause mild addiction due to mana overstimulation.
“Phew, I thought I got a dud, but this is actually pretty decent.” It would’ve been absurd if I ended up with a normal candy, considering my high Luck stat.
Curious, I unwrapped one and popped it into my mouth. The taste exploded across my tongue like a cascade of magic—sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced with the richness of ripe blueberries. A rush of pure mana flooded my body, coursing through my veins and filling every nerve with mana.
“Damn… this is dangerously good,” I muttered, feeling warmth spread through my body as I felt my magic power strengthen. “If anyone in Fantasia is selling this stuff, people would go broke.”
I could only imagine how expensive such a delicacy would be in the higher-ranked districts—if it was even available at all. Something this potent wasn’t just candy; it was practically a luxury-grade mana booster disguised as a treat. Or maybe just a pure drug, considering how it caused mild addiction.
I quickly stored the remaining four candies into my inventory to save them for later and turned my gaze toward the second lootbox. Whatever was inside, it would have to work hard to top that one.
As I opened it, another radiant light burst forth before condensing into a crimson crystal that looked like a living ember trapped within glass. Heat radiated from its core, warming my hand.
Pyro Crystal
Grade: Rare
Type: Crafting Material
A crystallized core infused with concentrated Pyro elemental energy. Simply holding it enhances the wielder’s affinity with the Pyro element, and it can also serve as a key material in crafting fire-elemental magic weapons or staves.
“Well, it’s not a jackpot, but it should be worth some soul coins. Or I can just give it to Tuilë since it might be useful to her,” I mused.
Next up, I redeemed the two Unique-Grade Armament Vouchers. Although I wasn’t particularly in need of anything, there could still be something worth redeeming. After all, every time a voucher was used, the available choices changed completely, offering hundreds of randomized possibilities.
Soon, a translucent menu materialized before me, neatly displaying the list of redeemable equipment. My eyes scanned through it until something caught my attention.
“Huh… this one’s actually interesting.”
Ring of the Void Pulse
Grade: Unique
Type: Magic Ring
A ring imbued with spatial energy from a collapsed star and crafted from a special material.
Durability: 100/100Grants +15 Magic Power and +5 MindApplies [Spatial Adaptation] to the wearerWhile wearing this ring, it will reduce the mana cost of spatial-related magic by 15%.
Can unleash a special spell: {Warp Blink}, which teleports the user up to 10 meters toward their line of sight. Usable once per day.To think there would be an accessory that synergized so well with my Gravity Magic… it must’ve been the work of both Extraordinary Fortune and my unusually high Luck stat. While the ring wasn’t the most powerful unique-grade item out there, its compatibility made it far more valuable than most. Thus, I chose it without hesitation.
You have selected the Ring of the Void Pulsefor the voucher.
As soon as the ring materialized, I slipped it onto my middle finger, and I could feel my magic power instantly getting stronger. Now, with three rings adorning my hands, I probably looked like someone trying too hard to look cool.
Without wasting time on the thought, I looked at the second list and didn’t find anything that was as compatible with me as the Ring of the Void Pulse. However, I spotted one that could be useful, so I chose that one.
You have selected the Bloodflare Pendant for the voucher.
Blood Pendant
Grade: Unique
Type: Accessory
A pendant forged from crystallized scarlet essence extracted from the heart of a slain high-rank troll. It passively stores the wearer’s excess vitality and releases it when death is near, mending wounds in a burst of life energy.
Durability: 110/110Grants +10 Strength and +10 StaminaWhen HP drops below 25%, instantly restores 15% HP. Recharge time: 24 hours. Not bad at all. These two items alone would significantly boost my overall combat capability. My preparations for both the upcoming scenario and the duel against Kaela were coming together nicely. Luck truly was everything.
With that done, I turned my attention to the three Rare-Grade Elixir Vouchers. The most optimal use right now was to redeem elixirs that permanently enhanced my stats by twenty-five points each. However, consuming too many elixirs that strengthened the same attribute could cause diminishing returns over time, as the body developed resistance. For that reason, I would need to diversify my choices.
Since I had already taken an elixir that permanently increased my Magic Power stat previously, I decided to select one elixir each for Strength, Dexterity, and Stamina. Of course, I wouldn’t be consuming them right away—saving them for just before the duel would allow me to maximize the natural stat increases gained through training and combat first.
Once everything was prepared and accounted for, I finally headed to bed, ready for what awaited me the first thing tomorrow morning.
As a tribute to the Goddess of Imagination, Istellia, 100 Soul Coins have been deducted from your balance.

“I apologize, but the ninth scenario can only be attempted with two people at most,” informed the woman standing before us with her usual serene smile, Elysia.
The five of us exchanged glances, murmuring among ourselves.
“Wait, we can’t all go together?” Tuilë asked, frowning.
Elysia shook her head gently. “Unfortunately, no. What I can tell you is that the scenario’s nature revolves around reconnaissance and infiltration. Also, it can only be cleared once.”
“This sounds a lot like the second scenario…” Michelle murmured, looking thoughtful. “Though I suppose it’s not much of a surprise now.”
Reconnaissance… that meant gathering intelligence. Probably something like identifying monster settlements, supply routes, or hidden lairs. This wouldn’t be a large-scale battle like the last two scenarios, and the chances were huge that it would somehow affect the tenth scenario.
Well, it couldn’t be helped.
To begin with, information about the ninth and tenth scenarios was far scarcer compared to the earlier ones. Divine warriors who had managed to clear the ninth were few in number, and most kept their details secret to maintain an advantage and be ahead of others, especially those affiliated with guilds or factions.
As for the tenth… the situation was even more obscure. From what was known, perhaps only Graham and a handful of his men had completed it—and rumors claimed that Graham had been the sole survivor of that run. Beyond that, everyone just knew that the tenth scenario permitted up to ten participants. Everything else remained shrouded in mystery.
Boris grinned and thumbed at himself. “Let me go solo this time. You’ve been hogging the spotlight of going alone, Maxim.”
“No,” I cut in immediately. “I need to level up the most for the upcoming duel. You should go with Michelle, like usual, Boris.”
He thought about it for a moment, then nodded. “Fair enough.”
Michelle looked as though she wanted to object, but after a moment of hesitation, she stayed silent. She must’ve realized that me going solo would be more beneficial for all of us.
Meanwhile, Tuilë turned toward Lucian with a small grin. “I suppose that leaves us. Just like the old days, huh?”
Lucian gave a small shrug. “Fine by me.”
Although their personalities couldn’t be more opposite, it somehow fit perfectly.
Elysia gave a nod. “Very well. I will now open the portals to the ninth scenario. Step forward when ready.”
Soon, three swirling portals emerged before the angelic statue in the alcove.
Boris gave a sharp exhale and smirked. “Let’s get this over with.”
“Be careful, everyone,” Michelle said as the two of them entered their portal together.
“See you later, Maxxy.” Tuilë waved at me with a cheeky grin as she stepped toward the portal. “Don’t forget to use the spear—and tell me what you think after.”
Then she and Lucian entered their portal, disappearing into the swirling light.
Before heading to the Rift of Scenario, Tuilë had handed me the upgraded spear. To say I was surprised by the result would be an understatement.
When I stepped into mine, a blinding light engulfed my vision, and the world around me dissolved into white. A moment later, the brightness faded, and I found myself standing once again in a desolate wasteland, similar to the one from the eighth scenario. Also, it was night here.
Scenario #9 [Shadows Over the Frontier]
A mysterious disturbance has been reported deep within the frontier wastelands. Monster activity has grown increasingly organized, suggesting the presence of an intelligence guiding them. Your task is to conduct reconnaissance by identifying the locations of monster settlements, their leaders, and the source of their coordination.
Mission Type: Reconnaissance
Difficulty: D+
Main Objective: Identify 3 major monster settlements or camps. (0/3)
Time Limit: 2 days
Reward: 6,000 Soul Coins
Penalty for Failure: Death
Extra Conditions:
1. Identify the chain of command among the monsters. (0/1)
Reward: A Random Rare-Grade Skill Book
2. Obtain intelligence on the origin of the coordinating entity. (0/1)
Reward: Daleth-Tier General Lootbox
3. Cause chaos among the monsters’ chain of command. (0/1)
Reward: Epic-Grade Crafting Material Lootbox
The scenario’s objective was actually pretty simple and indeed could easily be completed by two people or even alone. After all, the extra conditions weren’t mandatory; only someone like me would go out of their way to finish them all if possible.
But for some reason, I had a feeling that the tenth scenario would somehow tie into the emergence of what appeared to be a monster army.
“Yeah… I think I’ve got a pretty good idea what the tenth scenario’s going to be about,” I muttered, recalling the events of the seventh and eighth scenarios.
Whatever the case, I'd better finish the ninth scenario as soon as possible and thought about it later. To cause chaos among the monsters… This could be “fun.”
