Chapter 271 - 69: A Great and Unforgettable Fiasco! Trading Blows with Bayern! The Locker Room Detective! You’re Not Neuer
When he got home, a familiar BMW was parked at his doorstep.
Lina Gerk was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and white denim shorts, boldly showing off her astonishingly long and slender legs. She exuded a very sharp and fashionable air.
Hearing footsteps, the blonde beauty standing by the car turned around and saw Wang Shuo.
"Where have you been?"
She hurried over to him. "I’ve been driving back and forth along this road, I looked for you three times. How did I not see you?"
"And your phone? Why didn’t you answer?"
Wang Shuo didn’t answer, simply taking the shoulder bag from his back.
He had put his phone on silent after going into the locker room, then tossed it in his bag and forgot to take it out.
"Don’t you have a key? Why didn’t you go inside and wait?"
As he spoke, Wang Shuo took the key from his bag and walked over to open the door.
They went inside and turned on the lights. Wang Shuo went into the kitchen first and came back out with two bottles of water in his hands.
"Weren’t you going to Milan? I thought you wouldn’t be coming to the game tonight."
Lina Gerk noticed his spirits were low and gave a soft smile.
"I made a special trip back this afternoon."
"Did your work over there go smoothly?"
"It was nothing special, just regular work. The day after tomorrow, I have to go to London."
Wang Shuo realized she was actually quite busy too.
Mainly, her agency had scheduled a very dense workload for her.
As the very first winner chosen by Heidi Krumm’s company in Germany’s Next Topmodel, a vast amount of resources had been invested in her. Naturally, they expected a corresponding return.
But she had always worked very hard.
The two of them were actually quite similar; both were workaholics.
It was because they had both come from small towns and mountain villages.
Perhaps because of this, they had an exceptionally good impression of each other.
Sensing that Wang Shuo wasn’t in high spirits, Lina Gerk carefully avoided talking about football and changed the subject.
"Oh, right. Last time, you told me your hometown is a famous garment city in China. Is that true?"
Wang Shuo followed her lead as expected. "Strictly speaking, it’s our provincial capital. It’s very famous and has a lot of brands."
"Do you have any friends who make high-end clothing? Could you introduce me? I’m looking to contact a contract manufacturer."
"A contract manufacturer?"
"Yeah, I’m planning to launch my own clothing brand."
"For real?"
"Of course. I can’t work for the agency forever. I need to have my own business. Besides, I know so many people in the fashion world now, so it’s only natural to consolidate those resources."
"I have it all planned out. I’ll start with clothes, and if that’s successful, I’ll slowly expand into other categories. I’ve also put a team together, including a very good designer friend of mine. I think her talent is extraordinary."
Wang Shuo was dumbfounded as he listened.
Lina Gerk was only twenty, yet she was already starting her own business.
’Impressive!’
"Are you sure you want to find a contract manufacturer in China?"
"Of course. I’ve looked into it. China has a very clear cost advantage, and the quality is also very good. The prerequisite, of course, is finding a reliable manufacturer."
Wang Shuo nodded. "I can ask around for you, but I don’t know anything about this stuff. You’ll need to arrange for someone to do an on-site inspection."
"That’s a given." Lina Gerk smiled.
Seeing her happy, Wang Shuo’s mood lifted considerably as well.
"How many people are in your studio right now?"
"Including me, three."
"Only three?"
"Yep, we don’t need too many. A designer, a photographer, and me—the boss, product selector, creative director, sales director, marketing director, finance director... oh, and the spokesperson and in-house model."
Hearing her rattle off so many titles for herself in one breath, Wang Shuo couldn’t help but be amused.
"Your company sounds pretty shabby, then."
"What can I do? Don’t be fooled by how glamorous I look when I go out. In reality, I haven’t earned much money these past few years."
After a pause, she sat up straight, her face full of confidence, and said, "But don’t worry, I have a lot of faith in this company. I’m going to use my name for the brand—it’ll be called LeGer."
It was made from the first few letters of her name.
This certainly showed her determination to start a business.
"So, are you going to open a store?"
"No store for now. It’ll mainly be online sales."
"E-commerce?"
"Yes. That requires a much smaller investment."
"Are you planning to set up the office in Berlin? Or Munich?"
"Neither. I’m planning to set it up in Dusseldorf."
Wang Shuo was a little surprised.
From what he knew, Berlin had a fashion week, and Munich was pretty good too. At the very least, places like Frankfurt or Hamburg would be suitable choices.
"Why Dusseldorf?"
Lina Gerk didn’t answer right away. Instead, she just looked at him quietly, and his heart stirred at her gaze.
"Because... that way, I can be closer to you."
As she spoke, her eyes were locked firmly on Wang Shuo.
Not counting the female fan who had hugged him that morning, this was the first time a girl had confessed to him so directly.
He was at a loss, wanting to break their intertwined gaze, but he found he couldn’t look away.
And this seemed to give her immense encouragement.
She slowly leaned in, getting closer and closer, until they were near enough to feel each other’s breath.
But the pause was just a tentative test, born from her own anxious heart.
When she was sure Wang Shuo wasn’t resisting or pulling away, she grew bolder and lunged forward. Cupping his cheeks with both hands, she kissed him forcefully.
She even instinctively sat down right on his lap.
