Chapter 398: Dares To Be Cocky.

After he reversed time, he habitually placed a mark on Slav before moving on. As he left, the young man who was kneeling and begging for mercy watched him leave with a glint in his eyes.

Common sense dictated that he should accept defeat regarding Loki and give up on any thoughts of recovering their escaped slaves, since their escaped slave is now the reincarnation of a rank 5 being. This is what Slav had in mind to do, but things aren’t so simple anymore.

Because of his Innate Metac, the Fortune Seeker Metac, he can feel that it is in his best interest to kill Loki. He doesn’t know why he should do that since Loki didn’t seem to care about him. But the Fortune Seeker Metac has spoken, so it must be done.

Of course, he lacks the power to do that now. So the first thing that the Fortune Seeker encouraged him to do was to tell his father about the nature of his Innate Metac.

Skarg became happy when he heard that Slav had awakened an Innate Metac of the Luck Pathway. He immediately began planning their trip, so they were able to leave the city for the site of the inheritance the next day.

By this time, Loki had found himself in Earthly Battlefield E6-137. But this time, he only refined his body to rank 4 before he asked Amelia to reach out to Lady Red and secure a meeting.

He spent three weeks refining his body and making preparations, so Slav didn’t have enough time to make a move against him, and Lady Red had time to meet him.

Because of this, everything moved along without a hitch. Greg was fired and sent packing from Earthly Battlefield E6-137. Then he was waylaid by Lady Red.

After getting what she wanted, Lady Red decided to meet with Amelia and Loki. So the two of them left the small world by train and took an airship after they got out. The airship didn’t go far before it was visited by the guest.

A short lady with long flowing red hair that reached her feet suddenly appeared beside them on the deck. She had a mark on her forehead that was glowing brightly and difficult to look at.

Amelia immediately bowed and said to the visitor, "It is good to see you again, Lady Red. Thank you for meeting me here."

But Lady Red wasn’t looking at her. She was staring at Loki intensely.

She didn’t appear to be looking at anything specific because her gaze was roaming all over him. So it was more like she was examining him. But whatever she saw through her examination made her frown.

Then Lady Red said to Loki, "What are you exactly? You look like a rank 4 cultivator, but your existence is heavier than it should be."

Loki smiled and said, "Do you really want to know? If you want to know so badly, how much are you willing to pay to know?"

His question made Lady Red chuckle and say, "What a sight. A rank 4 dares to be cocky with me."

They were talking and laughing, but Amelia sensed that something was wrong. So she quickly spoke up, saying, "Lady Red, what about my reward?"

This question made Lady Red take her eyes off of Loki and finally look at Amelia. Then she smiled at Amelia, saying, "Excellent work, little girl. You have done well. If you manage to advance to rank 5, I have a deal for you that will benefit the two of us."

"For now, take this. You deserve it."

As she said this, she threw a multicolored stone at Amelia. Amelia instinctively reached out to grab the stone, but the stone didn’t reach her.

The multicolored stone had stopped in the air just before it reached her. Apparently, something had arrested its motion in the air before it reached Amelia.

But the weirdness didn’t stop there. Whatever the force was that had stopped the stone from going to Amelia, it also made the stone fly over to Loki.

This was Loki using the power of his Telekinesis Metac to grab the natural wonder and pull it to himself. But just as he could succeed, Lady Red also engaged her Telekinesis Metac and grabbed hold of the natural wonder.

Because her Telekinesis Metac was rank 5 while his was rank 4, the force she was able to use to grab the stone was greater than his. So she was able to pull the stone towards her.

Amelia was immediately incensed by these turn of events. She shouted at Loki, saying, "What are you doing?"

Without waiting for a reply, she said, "Stop whatever you’re doing. You signed a contract, remember? You can’t do this to me."

Loki remembered what he signed. But he couldn’t care less about that contract right now. What he cared about was dealing with Lady Red.

Lady Red narrowed her eyes at him and asked, saying, "Are you insane?"

It was a rhetorical question, and Lady Red followed it up by saying, "The fact that you can’t compete equally with the power of Telekinesis means that you are at best a rank 4 cultivator. That means you can never be a match for me. So you must be insane for doing this."

In response, Loki smiled and said, "Using the Telekinesis Metac is not my forte anyway."

If he had the Crown of Metal Life Ability, which is the Life Ability suited for controlling objects, this struggle would be different. But since he didn’t have the Crown of Metal Life Ability, he decided to make use of what he did have.

So he created an electromagnetic handgun in his hand with the Shifting Armor Life Ability. Then he pointed the handgun at Lady Red and shot her.

The distance between the two of them was less than 3 meters, and the speed with which he had created the handgun was very fast, so there was no way she could dodge the bullet that came shooting out of the gun.
