Chapter 396: Amateur.

The acquisition of a communication talisman was not difficult. In fact, he was able to get the most powerful one for sale in the heavenly city without any stress. With it, he should be able to make contact with Lady Red as long as she is in the Central Domain.

He already got the powerful communication talisman about a month ago when he went shopping for Branch Metacs. He got it then in preparation for today, so all he needs now is to retrieve Greg and use him for the exchange of benefits.

So the first place he went to was the direction of the Earthly Battlefield at the border of the Central Domain and the Northern Domain. What he went to do there took some time, so it was later in the day when he finally contacted her.

When he dialed her number, someone accepted the request for communication on the other side and said, "Who is this?"

Loki smiled as he replied, saying, "Who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is that I can help you acquire a mutated Floating Furnace Life Ability."

The person on the other side chuckled and said, "Let me guess. In order to receive this Floating Furnace Life Ability, I must come out to meet you somewhere. But when I come there, I will be ambushed and killed."

"I am guessing that there are at least three rank 5 cultivators in your family waiting to ambush me. And just to make sure that I don’t come back after death to keep troubling you, your divine ancestor might even make a move to destroy my Mental World completely."

At this point, Loki didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t very well deny her claim because that’s exactly what someone who wants to ambush her would do.

So he said with a gloomy tone, "How did you know?"

His question made her laugh and say, "What do you take me for? This is not my first round as a rank 5 being. I have been able to survive for so long because I am smart and difficult to ambush."

"You will have to do better than that next time. Maybe you should use something less valuable next time as bait."

"And don’t use a random number to contact me next time. Use someone I know and trust to reach out to me. Goodbye, amateur."

She cut off the connection at that point. He could no longer hear anything from her side, but her laughter was still lingering in his ears.

This made him curse, saying, "Damn it."

To be honest, he had truly planned to use Greg as bait to ambush her to force her to give him a natural wonder, and to kill her later. It was a plan that he thought would be easy to pull off.

But as it turned out, Lady Red wasn’t so easy to fool. She had stomped on him at the very beginning of his planning.

Since that plan had failed, he said to himself, "That makes the third one that has failed. Now what do I do?"

To be fair, the plan to use a non-existent mutated Life Ability to lure Lady Red into meeting him wasn’t his first plan. His first plan was to go and retrieve Greg from the Earthly Battlefield. Unfortunately, that plan failed because he couldn’t enter the Earthly Battlefield.

When he registered for the Earthly Battlefield, he was assigned to another one, not the one Amelia and Greg were in. So he couldn’t go and kidnap Greg.

When that first plan failed, he decided to call Amelia and have her help him arrange to be sent to her Earthly Battlefield. He didn’t mention Greg at all and didn’t ask her to help him send Greg out of the Earthly Battlefield so as not to clue her to his real plan.

He even offered a lot of benefits, such as helping her win the Earthly Battlefield if she helped him. But she didn’t take him seriously and ignored his request.

This was what forced him to try baiting Lady Red without Greg. But this too didn’t work.

As he thought of this, he gritted his teeth and said, ’It is as if I have been having bad luck since I encountered Slav the Golden. I should have arranged to meet Lady Red instead of going to stalk Slav.’

As he said this, he committed suicide and went back in time to the moment he awakened Fenrir. From there, he became an inner disciple of the Four Directions Sect and registered for the rank 4 Earthly Battlefield mission.

He still didn’t get assigned to Earthly Battlefield E6-137, though. Apparently, Earthly Battlefield E6-137 had no need for him.

In his desperation, he reached out to Amelia again to ask her to arrange for him to come to Earthly Battlefield E6-137. This time, his plan worked. She accepted his request and sent a contract to him for him to sign.

The contract showed that she would help him gain access to Earthly Battlefield E6-137, and in exchange, he would help her conquer the Earthly Battlefield in a year. If he didn’t fulfill his side of the deal, he would have to pay a terrible price to compensate her.

After he signed the contract, she sent a message to the rank 5 steward who helped her arrange to become the commander of Earthly Battlefield E6-137.

In a few minutes, Loki received a message that he had been transferred to Earthly Battlefield E6-137. This brought a smile to his face, and he said, ’Finally, things are looking up for me."

Apparently, everything was going well for him because when he asked Amelia for a grace of one month to prepare before he showed up for duty, Amelia agreed.

This meant that he could go to the heavenly city to buy all of the Branch Metacs that he needed and have time to refine his body to rank 5. It put him in a good mood.
