Chapter 12 : Academy Seven
Chapter 12 : Academy Seven
Chen Sui had already missed military training by the time she enrolled.
Since military training counted toward credits, the academic affairs office applied for a virtual battlefield military training project for her. Physical training would be monitored through instruments. After completion, credits would still be calculated, but only at a passing level.
After receiving her academic schedule, it happened to be Sunday, giving Chen Sui a day to briefly familiarize herself with the academy.
She toured the school interior, figuring out which building belonged to which department, the library, cafeteria, sports field, combat arena, virtual training room, and the application format for the back mountain practical combat, among other things.
By the time she returned to her dormitory, it was already night.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw trailing white long hair.
A girl wearing Academy Seven's school uniform coat sat upright at the living room tea table. Her gaze had been fixed on her light brain, but hearing the door open, she turned her head and glanced at Chen Sui.
Chen Sui paused for a moment, nodding at her in a friendly manner.
"Hello."
The other's features were like an ice sculpture, her thin black eyebrows seemingly carrying invisible frost. Her cold eyes scanned once, responding indifferently: "Hello."
Chen Sui closed the door, and the other looked at her eyes, one hand propping her chin, her gaze calmly fixed on her.
"Do you need something?" Chen Sui turned around.
"Are you a first-year new student in the soldier system?"
Chen Sui nodded, "Yes, are you also in the soldier system?"
"No," she shook her head, her cold expression unchanging, "I'm in the summoning system, one year ahead of you."
Chen Sui asked with confusion: "If you're not in the soldier system, how do you know me?"
Gu Qinxue lowered her eyes to look at her light brain, "Haven't you seen the forum?"
"On your first day of enrollment, it was posted on the forum," saying this, she clicked a few times, a contemptuous expression appearing on her cold face: "Oh, even on the homepage, how boring."
"Rather than doubting you here, they might as well go to the training room and fight a few rounds. Trash just likes to make noise."
Her tone was cold.
Hearing this, Chen Sui was bewildered, but she knew it wasn't directed at her, and could still calmly ask: "Doubt me?"
"What did I do," Chen Sui was confused.
Her steps, originally heading to her room, turned as she went to get a nutrient solution and sat down on the other side of the tea table, opening the campus section.
It was her first time entering, and she still needed to register first.
Seeing her scan with her student card, Gu Qinxue laughed, the frost suddenly shattering, revealing cold lake water: "Ha, you haven't even looked at it yet."
She leisurely observed Chen Sui's expression, her gaze wandering between her eyes. The pair of different pupils made Gu Qinxue particularly curious.
She liked all kinds of unique eyes.
Forum-Military Academy Section, Chen Sui could only post in the Zhu Jing Fu forum.
As soon as she entered the homepage, she saw several highlighted red posts.
[League Competition Ends, Latest Rankings Released, All Military Academies Return]
[Anyone Going to the Jump Station to Meet Seniors? Gather Here]
[New School Team Roster Released, Analyst Position Vacant?]
[Song Baining's Record Broken, by an Interstellar Nomad, Can You Believe It?]
This headline, Chen Sui hadn't yet realized was calling her out.
She scrolled down directly, but the entire forum was ignited with league-related topics, and the end of the school team selection added fuel to the league's heat.
"I don't... see it."
She looked up, puzzled.
Gu Qinxue lightly raised the end of her eyebrow, "Really?"
She leaned over, a cold fragrance hitting the nose, like winter's harsh red plum. Her white long hair slid from her shoulder, blown by the wind, tickling Chen Sui's face.
"There, this is it."
Gu Qinxue pointed to the post related to Song Baining, glancing at Chen Sui. Coming close, she discovered that this person was about the same height as her, but wrapped in a large coat. At this close distance, she could feel that her body was somewhat bony, with only a very thin layer of muscle, her cheeks slightly sunken.
Recalling her identity, Gu Qinxue pressed her lips together, cursing inwardly: Those stupid men on the forum really deserve to die.
"Just take a casual look, these people can't achieve it themselves, so they can only rage impotently here."
Gu Qinxue consoled in a cold voice.
If not for the forum reminder, Chen Sui wouldn't have known what record she had broken. When she received the notification, she only paid attention to passing, then purchasing items, and didn't even open the results to look.
In the post, however, many people were protesting, saying they would apply for a review.
The so-called review meant retrieving the holographic recording from the academic affairs office.
Chen Sui hadn't pulled any strings at all, and the short-haired teacher hadn't shown any favoritism. She glanced at it and exited without caring.
"You're right."
She nodded in agreement to Gu Qinxue.
"Let them review," Chen Sui said indifferently.
With the mindset of 'since I'm here,' she also looked at the other red-highlighted posts above.
When she saw the school team roster, she scrolled down, comparing the information.
Then glanced at Gu Qinxue, who was slowly savoring her nutrient solution, nodding in understanding: "You weren't here a few days ago because you were participating in the school team selection, right?"
Gu Qinxue flipped her hair behind her, nodding somewhat proudly: "Of course."
"Just the new assault handler for the school team."
Her tone was drawn out, exuding a sense of satisfaction.
Chen Sui nodded approvingly: "Impressive, impressive."
Gu Qinxue vaguely felt that Chen Sui was no longer as unfamiliar with her as before, so she appropriately expressed her curiosity: "Which star are you from?"
"Talo Star, Ninth Star Ring," Chen Sui answered while browsing through posts, looking at her, "But I am indeed an interstellar nomad."
"What's with your eyes, were you injured?"
Chen Sui was reminded by her, touching her mechanical eye. Interstellar bionics were indeed advanced; after implanting the mechanical eye, she didn't feel any discomfort. If people didn't mention it, she would almost forget about it.
"Yes."
Chen Sui didn't wish to elaborate, as she herself didn't know much either.
Exiting the school team post, finding the one above, seeing the content of the previous post, her eyes suddenly brightened.
Gu Qinxue saw that turquoise seem to glow, and her cold expression brightened somewhat, a slight smile just beginning to form.
Then she saw Chen Sui stand up, waving at her, "I have something to do, I'll go rest first, we'll chat later."
Gu Qinxue watched her quickly walk back to the room on the other side, her expression composed, raising the nutrient solution in her hand, frowning as she took a gulp, swallowing with difficulty.
After holding her breath, she smelled traces of woody cold fragrance lingering in the air, dissipating some of the displeasure aroused by the forum post.
Her light brain vibrated. Gu Qinxue glanced at the sender, not particularly wanting to respond.
After entering her room, Chen Sui sat at the desk, busy looking at the commenters in the post.
35l: Damn, I also want to go meet the seniors, but I have class, wuwuwu, what should I do?
25l: Find someone to substitute for you, it's just basic analyst course, as long as you don't fail the three exams, teachers turn a blind eye to substitutions.
30l: Is there a group! I need a substitute, will pay!
Chen Sui looked at the group number and scanned to enter.
Skipping past a string of meaningless greetings at the top, she looked at her schedule and changed her note to 'Accepting Substitute Classes,' appending her free time.
As soon as she changed it, a private chat box popped up.
"Beep beep, classmate, do you accept substitutions?"
Chen Sui hadn't expected business to come so quickly. To demonstrate her professionalism, she didn't immediately reply yes or no, but asked the other side:
"Which academy, which teacher, what time to what time."
Substituting classes in military academies was not uncommon, and had evolved into an industry chain among students.
The military school teaching office had also come up with a solution based on this.
Someone else could attend in your place, but the actual student's attendance rate for the entire semester must be above 70%, and the middle exam, end exam, and final exam, all three must be passed to complete the course, otherwise a hefty fee must be paid for retaking it.
This was why students were so bold in asking for substitutes on the forum.
The other side sent their course record.
Chen Sui compared, confirming it didn't clash with her own courses, "Alright, pay according to market price."
The other side: "No problem, I'll give half the deposit first, the rest after the class is completed."
After saying this, they transferred a star coin order.
Chen Sui had several question marks above her head, suddenly realizing.
Substituting classes was quite profitable.
"By the way, please also complete the assignments, I'll pay the deposit for both at once."
Chen Sui quickly switched screens to understand what the 'market price' was.
The substitute fee was generally around three hundred, with some courses that involved more questions marked as requiring additional payment, and corresponding assignment writing was priced even higher.
Chen Sui quickly understood the market conditions and accepted his substitution order: "Completed, it's done."
"Remember to sign in as me when the time comes, my name is Qi Sixia, student number......"
"No problem."
Chen Sui was looking at the substitution process in the group files, and after memorizing the entire process, she didn't impulsively accept orders.
On the first day of the new week, the soldier system had no scheduled courses. Chen Sui packed her things, preparing to head to the Inquiry Building of the analyst system.
Who would have thought that the first class for new soldiers in Zhu Jing Fu on their first day would be an analyst course.
Analysts were a special group among the Awakened.
The energy from mental Awakening was partly used to expand the vast mental threshold, and partly condensed into a core crystal.
Generally speaking, the higher the core crystal value, the lower the mental threshold value; the lower the value, the higher the mental threshold value, or both could be low, while instances of both being high were extremely rare.
This type of group with extremely high mental threshold values possessed very strong energy level perception.
In energy fields, they were responsible for analyzing field energy fluctuations, anchor positions, monitoring points, and determining the location of energy body crystals, known as analysts.
Inquiry Building, second floor.
Chen Sui scanned her identity card, entered Qi Sixia's name and student number, then sat down in a corner of the classroom.
A middle-aged teacher wearing a black coat, with a mechanical ruler tucked under his arm, walked in. As soon as he ascended the podium, he stood the mechanical ruler on the desk.
A blue light beam swept from the front of the classroom, then returned to the ruler, with a line of data displayed on the glowing screen behind.
Second Year - Energy Crystal Analysis Course
Instructor: Yang Qinhe
Expected: 79 people, Present: 73 people.
The lean middle-aged teacher, with penetrating eyes, hadn't even begun the lecture when he delivered a knowing blow to others: "Those who haven't come, all marked as absent."
"For the rest, whether you're the actual person or not, if you can't answer questions, you'll also lose points according to classroom rules."
"Now, class begins."
Chen Sui's hand, placed beside her trouser leg, trembled. Looking at the people around either taking out a text book or using their light brains to pull up textbooks, she silently swallowed.
This was a second-year course, help!
No one told her there would be random checks!
The forum harmed me, wasn't it supposed to be just a formality?
Chen Sui was inwardly suffering greatly, her hand speed becoming unprecedentedly rapid at this moment, clicking on the forum, searching for the course, downloading the textbook.
When the book opened, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, then looked up to see the holographic image in front progressing to an unfamiliar place.
She looked at the book.
Then looked up at the podium.
I just lowered my head to find a textbook, and the world suddenly became unfamiliar.
Chen Sui's gaze momentarily froze for a second. Yang Qinhe happened to be lecturing at this point, paused, his righteous voice like a demon's whisper: "Next, I'll ask a student to come up and demonstrate."
