Chapter 2424
Chapter 2424
Carson Flores stopped in his tracks, his expression one of shock.
The towering green mountain barrier was right in front of him, but the road ahead had disappeared.
A space barrier blocked Carson’s way.
This space barrier was like a transparent wall. On the other side of the wall was the brightly lit, majestic range of green mountains, stretching endlessly.
This mountain range was the boundary of the safe zone that Draelor Loxley had mentioned earlier. Beyond these towering green mountains lay the safe zone. Yet now, Carson was at the entrance of the safe zone but could go no further.
The space barrier was like a one-way mirror. He could see the world beyond, but on this side, it was utter darkness, devoid of light.
Carson was like a fly stuck to a windowpane in a dark room, able to see the brightness ahead but unable to fly out.
What was going on?
An eternally northern safe zone?
Worlds constantly being sealed in rotation?
He could see the boundary of the safe zone from outside, yet was separated by a barrier!
Folding?
Carson’s mind raced, pondering in what way this world existed.
If all the Secret Realms that were refreshed and rotated were in a single space dimension, could this world have been divided into countless parts?
With the center of the entire world as the point, dividing the whole world into dozens of parts, either equal or unequal, regular or irregular. This center would be the safe zone of the Secret Realm, as it connects each world.
In this vast world, only one of the divided small worlds would be fixed between the external Secret Realm entrance and the safe zone. The other divided small worlds would be obscured by some rules.
It’s like a roulette wheel, with the pointer always pointing to a pre-divided area, while the other areas are skipped, meaning they remain in darkness in a sense. As the wheel turns at intervals, the pointer shifts to the next area, lighting up the one it points to while the previous one slips into darkness.
If these small worlds aren’t folded layer upon layer and exist in different dimensions, Carson’s hypothesis might be the most plausible. Folding over ten worlds and regulating their rotation would be incredibly complex, but if the world were made like a roulette wheel, with rotating open areas, it would be much simpler.
Wasn’t Carson currently near the center of the roulette wheel?
Then the question arises, what is the person’s goal?
Were all those adventurers previously turned into darkness still alive?
Carson decided to wait a while.
He felt the truth might soon be revealed, because no matter how wondrous this world is, its master probably wouldn’t care much except when turning the roulette wheel.
After turning the wheel, whatever the master wished to achieve would likely follow suit.
Soon, adventurers released a tremendous aura, their voices like thunder from the Nine Heavens, resonating across this world.
"Gather around me, let’s think of a plan together!"
In the darkness, countless figures soared and moved towards the adventurer’s location.
To exude such a powerful presence, their voices akin to a deity’s descent, they must be great powers. Being with such people gave a sense of security.
Though hiding might be safer, Carson, too, was curious about the truth of this world.
After all, they were hidden within the Ethereal Pagoda, testing the waters with an incarnation seemed harmless.
Amidst so many people, who would notice a small tower without any aura?
Soon, Carson reached the location of the speaker, where hundreds of cultivators had gathered, including numerous Great Land Immortals.
The one calling everyone together was an old man with white hair, exuding an immortal aura, extraordinary in demeanor, his whole body alight with a golden light, illuminating tens of miles around.
"Venerable, what is the current situation? We can clearly see the safe zone, yet we can’t reach it!"
The white-haired elder replied, "The situation is clear: this world we are in has fallen into darkness and been refreshed in rotation. We must find a way to escape, otherwise, we might be trapped here or face unimaginable fates."
Someone shouted loudly, "With all our combined strength, can we break the barrier ahead? If we break through, we can enter the safe zone and leave the refreshed new area..."
Before he finished speaking, someone retorted, "You wish. Previously, over ten worlds have been sealed, and even many Space Great Powers tried to break through this Secret Realm and disappeared. If the barrier could be broken, wouldn’t they have done it?"
As these words were spoken, everyone became even more disheartened.
Indeed, if so many powerful people couldn’t break it, how could others succeed?
None were destined ones; if others failed, why would they succeed?
The white-haired elder listened to the clamorous discussions, and said in a deep voice, "Quiet..."
