The Fake Hero Is Too Strong

Chapter 191

Chapter 191

Velosian’s hidden card.

It was probably his power to interfere with the laws of the world.

He spoke calmly.

“Impelium, become endlessly weak…. right now.”

Originally, one of the world’s laws was this:

– A hero can kill beings that harm humanity.

But Velosian had changed it.

– A hero cannot kill a person, no matter the reason.

Suddenly, Impelium’s face turned pale.

“Impelium? What’s wrong?” “I’m… getting weaker.”

“What?”

“Wait, just a moment.”

He quickly checked his fame

And I could see everything on that window clearly, too.

The ‘Complete Eye of Omniscience’ allowed me to see even another person’s screen.

“What is this…”

It said:

“.…”

That’s crazy high.

Even now, I couldn’t help but feel jealous.

But Impelium didn’t seem to understand what was going on.

“My fame looks fine.”

“Impelium.”

“And I can turn fame into power, right? I even gave up my greatest wish to do it. So why… why is my power fading?”

Then Velosian chuckled.

“So, Adin. Have you changed your mind?”

“…”

“Don’t be shy, speak up. Which of us do you think you shouldn’t make angry right now?”

“I… I may have said something out of line earlier.”

Velosian burst out laughing.

His laughter echoed across the Kiar Plains, the battlefield.

The more he laughed, the more Impelium’s face stiffened.

“What did you do?”

“Your fame is the same, but your power is falling, right? The world’s punishment has come for you.”

“Why?”

“No need for small talk. You both did well. Now, die.”

Velosian pointed at Impelium and Serad.

A flash of light burst from his hand.

“Ugh. Impelium!”

Serad jumped in front of him and cast a powerful defensive spell.

She was a mage too, it seemed. Another thing that reminded me of Neril.

Impelium survived behind her, but cracks soon spread through Serad’s barrier.

“Impelium. Run.”

“What?”

“I don’t know what’s going on, but something is very wrong. So you need to run, at least.”

“Don’t be ridiculous.”

“If you die, humanity is finished. Don’t talk like a child!”

Impelium flinched.

Serad looked back and smiled softly.

“You can’t die. You aren’t allowed to die.”

“I can say the same.”

“This isn’t the time for stubbornness.”

“Serad. My wish was to build a family with you.”

Serad looked stunned.

“You’re proposing… now?”

“The reason I became a hero and tried to save the world was so I could live with you in that saved world. I’m not some selfless saint.”

He stepped up beside her, shoulder to shoulder.

“I gave up that wish and turned my fame into power. But the world took that power away.”

“Hey.”

“You think I will just stand by and watch you die?”

“Don’t…”

“Release your magic. I’m going to throw my sword at him. If it doesn’t work, we will meet again in the afterlife and get married there.”

Serad gave a disbelieving laugh.

“You’re insane.”

“Harsh words for your husband.”

“Heh. Fine. Whatever happens, happens.”

“Count to three.”

“Okay.”

“One, two…”

Impelium raised his sword.

“Three!”

Serad released her spell.

Impelium hurled his sword with all his strength toward Velosian.

It looked a lot like my own ‘Sword Throw’ skill.

But…

“For a hero who tormented me for so long, that’s a pretty weak struggle!”

The sword vanished in an instant, erased by Velosian’s attack.

And at the same moment.

“Ahhh!”

“Ugh…”

Impelium and Serad both disappeared.

Velosian slowly lowered his hand and looked up at the sky with ecstatic eyes.

“Hahaha! Finally, I have killed Impelium!”

“Velosian…”

“Be quiet. I’m in too good a mood to talk.”

“O-okay…”

He murmured happily.

“Now then… right. Let’s start by calling Aktion back from the underworld. If I just release him into the world, he will find a new body soon enough.”

“…”

“And after that, what should I do next? How should I harvest more lies?”

“You’re asking me?”

“I said be quiet.”

Adin shut his mouth.

Velosian walked around restlessly, like an excited child before their birthday.

“Maybe I should create a fake hero.”

“…”

“If that fake hero pretends to kill me, the lies I could harvest would be incredible. If I repeat it a few times, maybe I could rewrite the world’s laws again.”

“…”

“Then the world would be full of demon kings, and I could sit above them all as… huh.”

He stopped.

The excitement vanished from his face.

His body began to tremble violently.

“Wh-what is this?”

“Velosian!”

Thud.

Adin fell to the ground.

“S-something’s wrong. Something’s off.”

“…”

“I don’t know how to say it, but… it feels like I have been bound to this land. Like I’m tied to the Kiar Plains itself.”

He muttered to himself, looking around.

No one else was there.

Velosian had already vanished.

“Velosian?”

The Eye of Omniscience didn’t show where he went, but somehow, I knew.

“He went to the special room.”

He had been sealed inside the special room.

But how?

Impelium should have died just now with Serad.

Then, the screen flickered again, as if it knew what I was wondering.

The place that appeared next was a room I knew well, the room where Impelium always greeted me and my party.

Impelium was there, blinking in confusion.

A message appeared before him:

Impelium rubbed his eyes a few times.

Then new lines appeared.

The tone felt almost like someone was speaking directly to him.

I had never seen the Eye of Omniscience display words in a conversational way before.

My eyes widened, but Impelium looked even more shocked.

“What is this? I have never seen anything like it.”

A chill ran down my back.

The next era’s hero. That could only mean…. me.

Impelium stared at the screen with trembling eyes, unable to believe it.

Then he shouted like a philosopher who had just found the truth of life.

“What are you talking about?!”

More text appeared.

Impelium shook his head in confusion. But soon, his eyes grew calm.

He was quick to think, putting aside his questions and focusing on what humanity needed most right now even though his true body had already died.

He said he wasn’t a selfless person, but even after death, he still worried about humanity more than anyone else.

“Forget Velosian for now… Aktion is already dead. How do I seal someone who’s dead?”

“Fine. So what do I have to do?”

“And how exactly do I do that?”

Even though the words were written text, the calm tone was clear.

Then, something appeared on the table with a small sound.

It was a glass of wine.

Impelium jumped back in surprise.

“What the…? What is this?”

“What?”

“…”

Impelium sighed.

“I don’t understand any of this.”

“…Fine.”

Then…

“Impelium? What are you doing?”

A new voice filled the room.

Impelium fell on his back in shock.

“Mommy!”

Pfft.

‘So even someone as serious as Impelium had moments like this, huh.’

I couldn’t help but smile.

The newcomer pretended not to see his awkward fall.

“Anyway, this room’s so clean and cozy.”

“Thanks for pretending you didn’t see that.”

“I don’t know what you mean. By the way, where are we? Are we alive?”

It was Serad.

She tilted her head as she approached Impelium.

Tears welled up in his eyes, but he quickly turned away.

“We will talk later. Let’s finish the World’s request first.”

“…I have got a lot of questions, but fine. What exactly are you going to do?”

“Well… don’t be disappointed if I do something strange.”

“I would never be disappointed in you.”

“Good. Then I can drink in peace.”

He picked up the wine glass and drank it all in one gulp.

Right after that, a message appeared.

< As a reward, you have received “Complete Eye of Omniscience.” You can now freely view all grades of secrets without needing to know a target’s name. >

< As a reward, you have received “Complete Blood Script.” You can now view your own Blood Script. >

< As a reward, you may ‘add’ one Law of the World. However, you cannot add a law that harms humanity. >

It was the same message I had seen earlier…. except one thing.

‘I only needed one million fame, but his requirement was 4.8 million.’

What was the difference?

“Why not just add ‘Velosian must die’? Wouldn’t that solve it?”

“So what’s wrong with that?”

Impelium frowned.

The text softened, as if trying to comfort him.

“Fine. I will add the law. Oh, and maybe one small addition.”

“Seal that bastard Adin too. I was planning to deal with him anyway when fighting Velosian.”

Impelium thought for a moment.

“Then I will seal him in the Kiar Plains.”

Serad frowned.

“I don’t know who you’re talking to, but why the Kiar Plains?”

“That’s where we first met Adin.”

“Yeah. He said he was preparing to become the Spirit King there, where spirits are most common.”

“The Kiar Plains are deep wilderness. Someone like Adin shouldn’t be left loose in the world.”

“I still have no idea what you’re saying.”

Impelium just smiled lightly.

Then he summarized everything clearly.

“I will add this law: Velosian and Aktion are sealed in the Special Room, and Adin in the Kiar Plains.”

A message appeared.
