The Extra Who Shouldn't Exist

Chapter 412 - 413 : The strongest rules

Chapter 412 - 413 : The strongest rules

The grand hall of the mansion had finally settled into an uneasy calm.

Luxurious chandeliers hung from the ceiling, though several still swayed slightly from the earlier destruction outside. Sunlight filtered faintly through massive glass windows, illuminating the long table placed at the center of the room.

On one side sat Alex, James, and Clara.

Opposite them sat Camilla and Remus.

Remus had finally regained consciousness not long ago.

Though physically recovered, his expression remained dark as his sharp gaze stayed locked onto Alex.

Hostility radiated openly from him.

Alex, meanwhile, leaned lazily against his chair as if none of this concerned him in the slightest.

James cleared his throat awkwardly, trying to ease the tension filling the room.

"So... I take it Mr. Remus is also on board with this decision?"

Camilla shifted her gaze toward Remus.

Remus continued glaring at Alex as if trying to burn holes through the skeleton mask itself.

Noticing his stubborn silence, Camilla spoke calmly.

"I know you don’t like that guy."

She paused briefly.

"And truthfully... neither do I."

Alex’s mouth twitched slightly beneath the mask.

Camilla continued without hesitation.

"But we cannot ignore his strength."

Her tone hardened.

"Inside the Tower of Ascension, only strength matters."

"Nothing else."

"The sooner you accept that... the longer you survive."

Remus exhaled slowly.

Her words settled heavily in his mind.

’She’s right.’

’I’m letting my emotions cloud my judgment.’

He clicked his tongue in irritation before taking a deep breath.

"Fine."

Then he looked toward her again.

"And how exactly are you planning to explain this to the Clan Master....can’t you see how many members we have lost just because of that guy."

He pointed towards alex whi whistled innocently further annoying Remus.

Camilla answered immediately.

"Don’t worry."

"She will understand."

Remus frowned slightly.

"I hope you’re right."

His gaze finally shifted toward Alex.

"Lucifer... was it?"

Before Alex could respond, James quickly nodded.

"Yes, Mr. Remus."

A vein visibly bulged on Remus’s forehead when he realized Alex was completely ignoring him.

James hurriedly intervened.

"Please don’t mind him."

"Lucifer has... a slight hearing problem."

Alex slowly turned his head toward James.

"Is that so?"

"Why didn’t you tell me?"

James answered instantly.

"I did tell you."

"You just didn’t hear it."

Alex’s mouth twitched again.

"...Is that so."

James nodded firmly.

"That is so."

"Now please remain silent for a few seconds."

Alex leaned back.

"Alright, alright."

James immediately turned back toward Remus.

"Sir Remus, we will assist your clan with everything we have."

"Please give us a chance."

Remus crossed his arms.

"We’ll see about that."

Then he pointed toward Alex.

"But first... tell him to do something about that thing."

Everyone followed his finger toward the massive window.

Outside—

Hovering above the mansion—

The Black Sun still hung in the sky.

A terrifying sphere of condensed darkness.

Reality bent around it.

Light itself seemed afraid to approach.

It looked less like magic...

And more like the embodiment of annihilation.

James slowly turned toward Alex.

"Lucifer... please do something about it."

Alex tilted his head.

"Sorry."

"I have hearing problems."

"Could you speak louder?"

James’s face twitched violently.

Taking a deep breath, he raised his voice.

"LUCIFER!"

"PLEASE REMOVE THAT BLACK SUN FROM ABOVE THE MANSION!"

Alex remained silent.

James leaned forward desperately.

"Please!"

"Everyone outside is terrified!"

After several seconds of repeated pleading—

Alex sighed dramatically.

"Alright, alright."

"I’ll handle it."

He casually raised both hands.

Then—

Clap.

The sound echoed softly through the hall.

Outside the window—

The Black Sun trembled.

Then suddenly—

It burst apart.

Darkness scattered across the sky like exploding starlight.

Fragments of void energy expanded outward in brilliant patterns resembling cosmic fireworks.

A breathtaking display illuminated the heavens.

For a brief moment—

Night and day merged.

And then—

Something even more impossible happened.

Across the courtyard below, the shattered bodies of Scorpion Clan members—previously broken like fragments of glass—began reforming.

Time itself appeared to reverse.

Fragments moved backward.

Broken limbs restored.

Blood vanished.

Bones reconnected.

One by one—

Every fallen member stood again.

Alive.

Whole.

As if reality itself had been rewritten.

James, Clara, Remus, and Camilla stood frozen as they watched the courtyard below.

Broken bodies that had moments ago been scattered like shattered glass slowly began reforming.

Fragments lifted from the ground.

Blood flowed backward.

Bones reconstructed.

Flesh restored.

One by one, the fallen members of the Scorpion Clan stood back up as if death itself had been denied permission to claim them.

Silence filled the room.

None of them blinked.

None of them spoke.

Their minds simply refused to process what they were witnessing.

Clara’s lips parted slightly.

James unconsciously grabbed the edge of the table for support.

Remus’s pupils shrank.

Even Camilla—who rarely showed emotion—looked genuinely stunned.

Camilla slowly turned toward Remus.

"See?"

"I told you."

Her gaze shifted toward Alex.

"That man is something else entirely."

Remus nodded slowly, his expression turning serious.

His earlier hostility faded, replaced by caution.

’Who the hell is this guy...?’

His voice lowered.

"We need to inform everyone about him the moment we clear this floor."

Camilla nodded in agreement.

"Someone like him cannot remain unknown inside the Tower."

Meanwhile—

Alex stretched lazily in his chair as if nothing extraordinary had happened.

He finally looked toward everyone.

"Alright, guys."

"I kept my word."

He stood up casually.

"Now can someone show me my room?"

He paused before adding firmly,

"And just so we’re clear... the biggest room will be mine."

Remus sighed heavily, rubbing his forehead.

"Take whichever room you want."

"I honestly don’t care anymore."

Alex nodded approvingly.

"Good attitude."

Without wasting another second, he disappeared deeper into the mansion.

Doors opened.

Closed.

Opened again.

Until—

He finally located the largest bedroom in the entire estate.

A massive chamber decorated with luxurious furniture, silk curtains, and an enormous bed positioned near tall windows overlooking the grounds.

Alex immediately threw himself onto the bed.

The mattress sank comfortably beneath him.

He stared at the ceiling.

’Now then...’

’Let’s think about what to do next... after a nap.’

’I really work too hard sometimes.’

A familiar voice echoed inside his mind.

[ You just wanted to laze around. That’s why you wanted a mansion. ]

Alex frowned slightly.

"How dare you accuse me like that."

"Did you not see how hard I worked to obtain this place?"

The System replied instantly.

[ I saw how hard you fought... to secure nap time. ]

Alex placed an arm over his eyes dramatically.

"It’s called strategy."

"I need to remain at peak condition before battle."

"I just lost one percent of my mana."

He nodded seriously to himself.

"And besides..."

A faint smirk appeared.

"I’ve already thrown the bait."

"Now we just wait for the fish to bite."

The room fell quiet.

Then—

A voice echoed softly through the air.

"So... you are Lucifer."

Alex’s eyes snapped open.

He shot upright on the bed instantly.

A chill ran down his spine.

He swallowed.

"No one told me this house was haunted."

The air in front of him distorted.

Space rippled like disturbed water.

Particles of energy gathered slowly at the center of the room.

A silhouette began forming—

A body materializing from thin air.

And before Alex could react—

The figure continued taking shape.
