Chapter 356: Starting the Morning Class
Chapter 356: Starting the Morning Class
Class 1-A was located at the far end of the building. However, that didn't make it isolated. On the contrary, it was actually the most convenient classroom since it was close to the training ground and many other main facilities.
"Hahaha! I'm in Class 1-A! This is absolutely amazing!" a boy laughed loudly.
"Yeah, me too! I'm glad we all ended up together again!" another student replied with equal excitement.
The students of Class 1-A greeted one another and began making friends. Previously, they didn't really know each other. Even if some of them had met before, they weren't close.
But now, as classmates in Class 1-A, they clearly needed to build stronger bonds.
Who knew? In the future, they might need each other.
"Tsk! I didn't expect to see you here, Luna. I thought you'd be in Class 1-B," Margaret teased as she walked up to Luna, who had just entered the classroom.
Luna stopped and gave her a casual glance.
"I ranked third in the Star Island test. If the academy placed me in Class 1-B, wouldn't they become a laughingstock? On the contrary, I'm surprised to see you here, Margaret. How much money did you spend to secure a spot in Class 1-A?"
Margaret's smile froze, and embarrassment immediately washed over her.
"You…" Margaret wanted to scold her, but she couldn't find the right words.
The truth was, she had indeed used her family's connections just to end up in the same class as Merlin.
In a sense, what Luna said was entirely true. But there was no way Margaret would admit it.
She snorted coldly and walked past her. Luna simply smiled and followed her into Class 1-A.
The classroom interior was spacious and luxurious. At the front, there was a blackboard four meters long and three meters high.
A podium stood nearby, complete with a small stage where the professor would stand to teach.
Meanwhile, the students' seats resembled those in an auction hall. They were arranged in rows from bottom to top, with long tables connected to one another.
There were forty seats in total, so the students were free to sit anywhere.
"Oh?" Luna was surprised to see that Catrine, Monica, and Liora had already arrived.
The three of them were sitting at the very top, chatting casually.
As soon as they saw Luna and Margaret, they immediately greeted them.
"Good morning, Luna and Margaret," Monica said first.
"Good morning," Liora chimed in.
"Good morning," Catrine added indifferently.
Luna and Margaret smiled and sat down beside them.
"Good morning. How was your morning at the dorm? It must've been a hassle, right?" Margaret asked teasingly.
Hearing that, Monica's, Liora's, and Catrine's expressions darkened.
"Yeah, it was a real hassle. I lost my face cream, and I even forgot to pack my underwear," Liora replied sheepishly.
Catrine and Monica also shared what happened when they woke up earlier, and it turned out their situations were similar.
While the five of them continued chatting, Luvis and some of his new friends glanced their way, then started talking about them.
"Tsk! What a stroke of luck, being in the same class as those five—especially Catrine and Luna. They're the prettiest in our batch, aren't they?"
"You're right! But when it comes to the prettiest, Crystal and Nysera can still compete with them. What do you think?"
"Crystal and Nysera? Ugh… I wouldn't even dare to think about those two. They're way harder to approach than Luna and Catrine."
"So, have you ever tried approaching Luna and Catrine?"
"Ahem! Of course not. I'm afraid of getting beaten up by Merlin Clay. That guy is way too strong, especially since he defeated Senior Geran so easily last night."
Their conversation soon shifted to last night's incident.
Luvis could only listen with seething anger.
"Oh, right, Luvis. I saw you were with Senior Geran yesterday. Aren't you afraid Merlin Clay will come after you?" the student next to him asked teasingly.
Luvis's face instantly stiffened. Panic, anger, and humiliation surged within him.
However, he couldn't show it. After all, everyone who entered Class 1-A was the best of the best.
Although he was confident he could defeat them all, he didn't want to turn anyone against him.
"As for that, I'm not afraid," Luvis replied, patting his chest. "Even though Merlin Clay is strong, I'm just as strong. What's more, I ranked in the top four in the previous Star Island test."
The students around him looked impressed. They nodded with smiles.
"You're right. You really are strong."
"Yes! Please help us in the future!"
Their attitude quickly shifted into flattery and sycophancy.
Luvis straightened his posture. It felt as if he had returned to his former prestige, back when Merlin Clay hadn't yet entered his life.
But suddenly, footsteps could be heard from the classroom door.
Merlin walked in, side by side with Nysera.
The sight immediately drew everyone's attention, especially since Nysera, standing beside Merlin, looked unusually submissive.
"This…" Everyone's eyes widened in shock. "What's going on!?"
They exchanged glances, as if silently asking each other what this scene meant.
But no one knew what was happening, so they could only stay quiet.
Merlin glanced at Luvis, instantly making the boy tremble with fear.
Luvis quickly lowered his head, as if he didn't dare look at him for too long.
Merlin simply smiled and turned toward the back row.
Sitting there were Catrine, Luna, Monica, Margaret, and Liora, all of them with their mouths hanging open.
"Let's go," Merlin said.
Nysera nodded and followed him to the back row.
When she saw the two of them approaching, Margaret was the first to stand up and glare at Merlin.
"Can you explain this to us?" she asked sharply.
The others remained silent, but their expressions were filled with tension.
Merlin smiled. He had expected Margaret to be the first to question him, so he wasn't worried at all.
"Nysera is my maid from now on. So be friendly to her. Understand?"
The atmosphere instantly fell silent. All five of them stared in disbelief and exchanged glances.
"M-Maid, you say!?" Margaret's voice rose, immediately drawing everyone's attention.
Realizing her mistake, Margaret smiled awkwardly and lowered her voice.
"Explain it to us. What do you mean?"
Merlin let out a small sigh and began explaining everything to them.
These five were people he trusted, especially since their affection for him had already exceeded fifty points.
At that level, the heroines wouldn't betray him unless it was an extremely urgent and special case. But even then, the system guaranteed it was impossible for them to do so.
Once they understood the situation, all of them were shocked.
"So you're saying Nysera asked for your help to awaken her bloodline. In exchange, she'll be your maid for a while?" Luna repeated.
"Something like that."
Merlin nodded and sat down.
Nysera sat beside him, picked up a book, and began reading, as if completely ignoring the others.
"This…"
The five girls were confused, unsure how to react to the situation.
And upon closer inspection, Nysera's behavior was indeed strange.
She seemed much calmer, not as fiery and aggressive as usual.
"I understand." Luna let out a long sigh. "This is your decision, and I won't interfere. But remember—don't mess with her, got it?"
Her gaze sharpened like a blade.
And it wasn't just her. Margaret and Catrine were also staring at Merlin coldly, as if silently warning him.
Merlin got goosebumps. He suddenly remembered that Luna and Catrine were yandere heroines in the novel The Lost Hero.
'They won't show that side of themselves this soon… right?' he wondered.
Suppressing his fear, he forced a stiff smile and reassured them, "Don't worry, I won't do anything to her. Trust me."
Of course, that was a lie. Conquering Nysera would grant him 70,000 system points and the Mythic-ranked Eryndor Light Sword.
Not to mention, saving Nysera from death would also reward him with 300,000 system points, one Mythic item, and one S-rank bloodline awakening potion.
All of it was tempting, and it would serve as valuable capital for him to move freely in the future.
How could he possibly let such rewards slip away so easily?
But Merlin was a highly intelligent man. He knew that in his current position, retreating was the best option.
The girls seemed reassured by his answer. They didn't know whether Merlin would keep his word or not, but it was enough to calm them down.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed from outside. A young and beautiful professor walked in, holding a stack of papers.
Seeing her, all the students quickly sat down in their seats.
"Good morning, everyone," the professor greeted them with a smile.
"Good morning, Professor!" they replied in unison.
The professor nodded in satisfaction and introduced herself.
"My name is Celestia, and I will be the homeroom teacher for Class 1-A. It's nice to meet all of you."
Upon hearing her name, Merlin froze, his eyes widening in shock.
"Celestia!? Could it be her?"
