Chapter 160: Hundred springs centurion flower
Chapter 160: Hundred springs centurion flower
In the novel, ’Shadows of Ascension’, Hannah was the one who gave a Alistair the Silver orb. Now, I didn’t t particularly care about the silver orb itself, but what was inside the orb.
Inside the orb was a special herb called the ’Hundred springs centurion flower’. Like it’s name suggested, the Aetherial association had cultivated this flower for about a hundred years. But, Hannah just up and gave it to Alistair, without any repercussions. Though, it had to do with the fact that she was the granddaughter of the chairwoman.
Holding the silver orb in my hand, I applied pressure on its frame. With a soft clank, the orb shattered like glass, revealing a multicolored flower the length of my palm that glowed with an ethereal sheen. The flower pulsed as though having a heartbeat.
The Hundred springs centurion flower was known to heal all sickness and ailments, including but not limited to ageing.
Ah, good ol’ age. A long time enemy of man and.... Well, fantastical races. Even in Nahaar where people could live for a very long time, ageing eventually catches up to them. For instance, Alpha ranked beings were the pinnacle of life expectancy in Nahaar, and the minimum limit for Alpha ranked beings was five hundred years, and maybe above provided they’re not killed. It was why they were sometimes called Demi- immortals.
They were quite immortal in the sense that compared to lower ranked aetherials who could live for a minimum of hundred years or up to two hundred depending on their order of ascension. But they were also not quite immortal in the sense that they would also slowly but eventually reach their end.
So, who wouldn’t want to stop their ageing? Unfortunately, the Hundred springs centurion flower was far too scarce.
In the novel, it was said that only one unit of the flower grew in the whole of Nahaar every three hundred years. Also, the flower could not be planted, it could only be cared for when found in its early years, and nurtured until it reached maturity.
But the miracle potion produced from the flower wasn’t the reason why I went for it, far from that actually. In fact I had no intentions of brewing the flower into some miracle healing potion or age stopping potion at all. I was wasting no such treasure on a one time use.
The actual reason I went for this particular cheat, was because of the hidden properties it possessed, one that probably only two individuals knew of at the moment.
Instead of creating a one time potion, I intended to use a technique called the grafting method, to graft the Hundred springs centurion flower’s properties into my body.
Alistair had done the same in the novel. After he received the flower from Hannah, Alistair ’coincedentally’ ran into an old man. You know the usual, protagonist meets an old man who’s secretly a hidden powerhouse, decides to help him blah blah blah!
Anyway, I originally spoke of two people knowing of the grafting method including myself. Well, the other person was the old man who Alistair coincidentally ran into, the actual creator of the technique. The old man was the one who grafted the Hundred springs centurion flower’s properties into Alistair’s body, effectively granting Alistair a pseudo ability - Regeneration.
While not quite on the level of a physique ability, this regeneration was what played a major role in Alistair’s survival in the long game, and I wanted it. I couldn’t even count how many times Alistair would have died if not for it.
It was why I was fixated on getting this particular cheat. Anything from a bruise to a cut, to a fracture, would heal in a few seconds. Broken bones and fatal injuries might take up to a minute or more. Plus, a lot of poisons and toxins would have little to no effect on me provided I had the flower grafted onto my body.
Now all I had to do was go find the old man. Piece of cake right? Well you’re wrong. The perverted piece of shit was currently not on this continent or in the human domain per say. Going by the timeline, he should be in the Elven continent at this moment. The old man would conveniently leave the Elven continent and journey to Sterling City where he would coincidentally meet Alistair.
Bullshit I say!
Anyway, there literally was no way I could find him at the moment. So I stashed the herb back in my spatial storage lest it’s properties fade away.
I took out my featureless mask, morphed into a familiar face, then created another prime reflection who soon switched with the reflection I had left on the Darkfell airship before I entered the underground market. I then dispelled the reflection next to me. Someone had to receive my team when they arrived back in the underground market.

Two days later, in the underground market, six figures entered the modest building next to the gladiators arena through a secret passage.
"You’re finally here." The moment they got into the building however, a voice startled them.
They immediately turned around in a combat ready stance, but soon relaxed noticing who it was.
"Gods, Boss! So you actually made it back before us!" Pixie exclaimed.
"Yes I did." I nodded. "So how did everything go? Did you fake my death as I said?"
"Yes, Boss!" Hugo grinned. "When we were asked about our seventh member, we said you got eaten by a beast."
"Good." I nodded. I had been waiting at this place for two days now, and now, I would finally be free, but not before one final thing.
"Bran, Alan, you two are the strongest." I called out the two. "I have an extremely dangerous mission for two."
"Whatever it is, Boss." Bran nodded solemnly, and Alan did the same.
------------
A week later, Hannah went back to the cave from last week.
"God, you’re finally here." Alexa who had been in the cave all along appeared next to her.
"I just saw your message." Hannah said.
"Doesn’t matter." Alexa waved her hand dismissively. "I have great news for you." She said to Hannah as a smile slowly crept onto her lips.
"What news?" Hannah asked, somewhat skeptical. She didn’t trust the smile on her grandmother’s face.
"Quit being so guarded. It’s really is great news for you. I just found out the identity of the man who stole the Hundred springs centurion flower."
"Really?" Hannah’s eyes widened.
"Of course, what now? Would I lie to you?"
Truth be told, Alexa could have found out who Damon really was during the same hour he disappeared had she wished so. She merely didn’t care about it that much, and didn’t bother with it until less than half an hour ago.
The moment Alexa’s whims pointed her to find it out, she acted on the first clue she had seen a week ago. The blue band of the Astral Mystic Institute on his hand alone was a dead giveaway, meaning that he/she was definitely a youngster in a disguise.
Alexa flew to the Astral Mystic Institute herself, and confronted her former classmate/ rival, the vice chancellor of the institute. Not long after, she had the information she was looking for, and flew back to Sterling City, then sent a message to Hannah to come meet her in the cave.
"Who is he?" Hannah asked, a fiery glint lighting up in her eyes.
Alexa’s smile widened at Hannah’s question.
"Well, he is a prince...." Alexa began.
"...Eh?" Hannah’s eyes widened. He was a prince? Then why resort to an undesirable act such as stealing? She couldn’t wrap her head around it. However, what Alexa said next however cleared the fog in Hannah’s mind.
".....Of the Darkfell Empire no less." Alexa finished.
’Ah, if it’s them, they could totally do it.’ Hannah nodded seemingly to herself. From stories she’d heard, she believed the Darkfells to not be right in the head at all.
"Do not worry though, we’ll be seeing the kid soon at the Ivos Gala. I would demand compensation, and issue a threat, one that not even Amon would be able to ignore." Alexa grinned.
Even though she was grinning, in her mind, she was having some amusing thoughts. Would the boy even agree that he was ever here? Judging from what she heard about his ability, he likely never left home in the first place, so the boy might have a solid alibi.
’Its just makes things more fascinating.’ she thought. It was going to be fun dragging this matter around with Amon. She had already sent her people to exploit and trace the paths or ways the boy had used to get here.
"Anyway, I’m leaving." Alexa said. "I’ll see you at the gala." Without giving Hannah any chance to talk, Alexa disappeared.
