Chapter 121: You are not my family
Chapter 121: You are not my family
At the Vega mansion...
The moment Mila stepped inside, Leonard’s furious voice exploded.
"You have the nerve to fire me?"
Before anyone could react, he raised his hand and lunged forward to slap her.
Valentina moved faster. She caught his wrist mid-air.
In the next second, she shoved him back with force.
Leonard staggered, completely unprepared, and fell to the floor with a thud. Shock flashed across his face as he looked up at her.
"Touch her, and I’ll kill you." Valentina pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.
Leonard’s heart sank. His face paled in horror.
Camilla cried out and rushed to him, dropping to her knees. "Please don’t hurt him," she begged. "Mila, he is your father. How can you let someone threaten him like this?"
"You?" Leonard was still shocked. "You brought a hooligan along and let her point a gun at your father?"
"Shut up," Valentina roared. "Your voice is grating on my nerves. One more ward and I’ll shoot you."
Both froze instantly, hands raised in fear.
"Mom, Dad, what is going on?" Bianca stepped out of her room and froze the moment she saw the scene.
"Ahh..." A scream escaped her lips. She instinctively turned to run back.
"Stop right there." Valentina’s voice rang through the hall.
Bianca halted mid-step, her body stiff, hands slowly rising in surrender.
"Come here," Valentina commanded.
Her legs trembled as she walked forward. "Please... don’t hurt me," she whispered, tears gathering in her eyes.
"Kneel."
Bianca dropped to her knees instantly. Her entire body shook as her gaze flickered helplessly between her parents.
"Don’t move," Valentina warned. "Or the next second will be your last."
None of them dared to flex a muscle.
Valentina glanced at Mila and gave a slight nod.
Mila walked forward calmly and sat down on the sofa, crossing one leg over the other.
All three of them looked at her, pale and terrified.
"This house belongs to my mother," Mila said. "And now it belongs to me. Pack your things and leave."
"What?!" Leonard’s temper flared again. "This is my house. I’m the owner. You have no right to throw us out."
"Owner?" Mila let out a soft, mocking laugh.
"You embezzled company funds for years." Her eyes hardened. "Your accounts will be frozen. Your properties will be auctioned."
She glanced around the mansion.
"This house..." she said quietly, "I’m reclaiming it."
Then her gaze returned to him, unforgiving. "And you will spend the rest of your life paying back what you stole."
She tossed a folder at him. "Sign it. Transfer the ownership."
"This is madness," Leonard roared, his nostrils flaring. "I’m not signing anything."
Mila shrugged lightly and stood up. "Fine," she said. "Then wait for the police. Spend the rest of your life in jail."
"Wait..." Camilla cried desperately. "You can’t do this. We are family."
"Family?" Mila shot back. "When did you ever treat me like family?"
Her eyes burned now.
"You abused me. You and your daughter bullied me for years. You locked me in rooms without food. You made my life hell."
Her voice rose, years of pain spilling out. "And now you suddenly remember I’m family?"
She shook her head slowly. "No. You are not my family. Not one of you."
"Mila," Leonard roared, jumping to his feet. "I’m your father, and I’m still alive. How could you say we are not family?"
"You were never a father," she shot back instantly. "When they hurt me, you did nothing. You never came to save me."
Leonard stared at her in stunned silence. He had been biased with her, but it had never bothered him. Hearing it now from her, something twisted in his heart.
"You never believed me," Mila continued. "Every time, you believed their lies and punished me."
Even Valentina stood frozen, disbelief written all over her face. She had never imagined a successful doctor like Mila might have such a traumatic life.
"After my mother died..." Mila continued, her voice breaking slightly before hardening again, "you stopped seeing me as your daughter. And now you expect me to keep that relationship. It already died with her."
A heavy silence filled the room.
Mila’s chest heaved, tears blurring her vision. But she stubbornly blinked them away.
"You don’t care about me," Mila continued sharply. "You never did. You never tried to look for me. Instead, you were happy, thinking I died in that explosion. You were too busy taking over my shares... my property."
She snorted bitterly. "You were shocked when you saw me. You were not happy to see me alive. As a father, you didn’t ask how I was or how I had been doing these days. You wanted to throw me out and cut ties with me. Now I am doing the same. Why are you panicking?"
"We didn’t know you were alive," Camilla argued weakly. "The police said no one survived the explosion. If you were alive, why didn’t you come back? Why didn’t you contact us?"
"Contact you?" Mila laughed bitterly. "You had already held my funeral. If I appeared, you would have killed me."
"That’s enough!" Leonard snapped. "You are back—that’s good. Stop this nonsense. You can’t run a company. Give it back to me. You focus on being a doctor."
Mila looked at him like he had just said something absurd.
"You still think you have authority?" she scoffed. "You’ve been removed as CEO. You are nothing now. If you don’t return the money, you and your entire family will go to jail."
"No!" Bianca cried, panic overtaking her. "I can’t go to jail. I did nothing."
She pointed at Leonard. "It’s his fault. I don’t know anything."
"Yes," Camilla quickly added. "He did everything. We are innocent."
Leonard stared at them in disbelief. Rage exploded in his eyes.
"You ungrateful wretches," he roared. "Everything I did was for you. And now you are abandoning me?"
He raised his hand to strike Camilla. Before it could land, Valentina kicked him hard.
He collapsed again, gasping for breath.
"You still haven’t learned," she said coldly, stepping toward him. She was about to hit him again.
"Valentina."
Mila’s voice stopped her. "Don’t waste your energy on them. Throw them out. I don’t want to see them here."
"You heard her," Valentina said. "Now get out of here."
"Mila... you can’t do this," Bianca said desperately. "Where will we go?"
Mila didn’t even look at her.
"That’s not my concern." Her tone was indifferent. "Go to a cheap hotel. Beg someone for help. Sleep on the streets. I don’t care."
"Get out, or you won’t have the time to regret it." Valentina pointed her gun at them.
That was enough.
Terrified, the three of them scrambled to their feet and rushed out.
The door slammed shut behind them.
"What do we do now?" Camilla cried, panic-stricken. "We don’t even have money. Where will we go?"
Leonard’s face twisted with rage. "This wretched thing. She had gone too far. I’ll make her pay for this."
"Dad," Bianca held his arm, "I know someone. He will deal with her and make her surrender everything."
Leonard’s eyes flickered with hope. "Then contact him."
Bianca’s lips curled into a sly grin. ’Mila, you think you can win over me. Dream on. I’ll ruin you completely this time.’
A moment later, the door swung open briefly, and two suitcases were hurled out.
They gasped in shock as clothes scattered across the ground.
"What the hell?" Bianca snapped, fury blazing in her eyes. "Mila, I’ll kill you."
From the balcony above, Mila looked down at them with a smug smirk.
