Chapter 118: The rightful heir of Vega Bio Corp.
The car came to a halt in front of Vega Bio Corp.
Mila stepped out, her gaze lifting to the towering glass building. For a brief moment, emotion flickered in her eyes. Then her expression hardened with resolve.
She stepped forward, with Valentina following her.
They had barely reached the entrance when two guards stepped forward, blocking their path.
"Stop," one of them said bluntly. "You are not allowed inside. State your purpose."
Mila’s expression turned cold. "I don’t need to give you a reason for coming here. I’m the rightful heir of Vega Bio Corp., and I can be here anytime I want. You have no right to stop me."
The two guards exchanged a glance, then burst out laughing.
"If you are the heir, I’m the owner," the other one mocked. He waved his hand dismissively. "Get lost. Don’t waste my time."
Valentina’s eyes darkened instantly. She stepped forward, ready to act. But Mila raised her hand, stopping her.
"I’ll handle this."
She stepped ahead, her posture straight, her voice firm.
"My name is Mila Vega, elder daughter of the Vega family. I am the majority shareholder of this company."
She held their gaze. "Do you still want to stop me?"
The laughter faded. The guards’ expressions hardened.
One of them walked up to her and shoved her.
Mila staggered back. Valentina caught her instantly, steadying her before she could fall.
"Watch it," the guard sneered. "We only know one daughter of the Vega family. And it’s Bianca Vega."
His gaze turned contemptuous. "We’ve seen frauds before. But never someone this shameless, faking identity like this."
"I’m not faking anything," Mila shouted, losing her composure. I have proof."
Mila was about to show them the proof, but Valentina acted swiftly.
She kicked and punched the men. Her movements were precise, fast, and brutal.
Before the guards could even react, they were on the ground, groaning in pain.
Mila took a step back, stunned, her eyes widening at the sheer speed of it.
Valentina didn’t stop. She removed their belts and tied their hands behind their backs.
"Next time," she warned coldly, "watch your mouth. "If you dare to disrespect Mila again, I’ll kill you all.
The guards trembled, their arrogance completely gone, replaced by fear.
Mila and Valentina stormed in. They didn’t stop by the reception.
The receptionist looked up, ready to protest. But the moment her eyes landed on Mila, her face drained of color. Her lips parted, but no words came out.
It was as if she had seen a ghost.
Mila didn’t spare her a glance. She stepped into the private elevator.
Valentina said it was surprising that the guards didn’t know about Mila. How could they stop the real heir?
Mila snorted and said it was because her so-called family didn’t want her. They denied her existence. But she would reclaim what was hers.
Inside, Valentina frowned. "Strange," she muttered. "The guards didn’t even recognize you."
Mila let out a soft, bitter scoff. "That’s because my so-called family erased me, denied my existence."
Her fingers curled around the folder she was holding. "But I’m here now. And I’ll take back everything that belongs to me."
The elevator stopped at the top floor, and the doors opened. They stepped out and walked straight toward the CEO’s office, only to be stopped by the secretary.
"Excuse me," she said sharply. "How did you get up here? Do you have an appointment?"
Mila didn’t even slow down. "I don’t need an appointment to meet my father."
The secretary froze. Her brows furrowed, confusion quickly turning into suspicion.
Leonard Vega had only one daughter, and it was Bianca. Then who was this woman? Was she an illegitimate daughter?
As soon as that thought appeared in her mind, her expression turned scornful. "You need an appointment, no matter who you are. Leave."
Mila stopped and turned. "I’m the owner of this company. No one tells me to leave."
"Owner?" The secretary’s face flushed with anger. "Leave now, or I’ll call security."
Valentina moved forward and challenged her. "Go ahead. Call them. Let me see if anyone dares to touch her."
The secretary instinctively stepped back, intimidated.
At that moment—
A voice came from behind. "Mila? You?"
Bianca stood there, frozen. For a second, she looked like she had seen something impossible.
"It’s really you?" she whispered.
She couldn’t believe her eyes. For a moment, she thought she was hallucinating.
Before Mila could respond, the secretary rushed to Bianca’s side. "Miss Bianca, this woman is claiming to be your sister and the owner of the company."
Bianca’s face paled. Fear crept in.
They had all believed Mila was dead. Her father had already started claiming everything. But she was standing right in front of her.
The secretary continued, "She is a fraud. We should call the police."
Hearing those words, Bianca grew confident.
Mila was alone. It wouldn’t be difficult to scare her and silence her.
Her arrogance returned. She stepped forward. "You should’ve stayed wherever you were," she said coolly. "Dad is busy in a meeting. Go home. He might meet you in the evening."
She crossed her arms. "This is a company. You have no place here."
Mila scoffed, "No place? I hold the majority shares, which means I hold the highest authority here."
The secretary gaped at her, stunned. Bianca frowned, displeased.
Mila took a step forward, her eyes locking with Bianca’s. "Leonard Vega is just an employee. And you... a sales director? You got this position because of the Vega name."
Bianca’s face turned ashen.
"With your qualifications, you wouldn’t even qualify for an entry-level job here," Mila said mercilessly.
Bianca’s hands clenched, fury burning in her eyes. For a second, she looked like she might slap her. But she smirked instead.
"Maybe," she said mockingly. "But I still have a position. And you? You are nothing. You have no place here. So leave."
Mila snored. "Then I’ll show you what power I have."
She stormed into the conference room.
Inside, the meeting was in full swing. A presentation glowed on the screen. But everyone froze in their places, stunned by the sudden intrusion.
Leonard Vega shot to his feet. His eyes were wide in shock and disbelief. "You?"
Bianca rushed in behind Mila, putting on a worried expression.
"I’m so sorry," she said quickly to the board members. "I tried to stop her, but she forced her way in."
"This is outrageous!" a senior director snapped. "This is a board meeting. How can someone barge in here? Call security."
Mila walked forward without hesitation. She dropped a file onto the table.
"My name is Mila Vega." Her gaze swept across every face. "I hold the majority shares of Vega Bio Corp., and I have every right to be here."
