The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor

Chapter 85: Envoy of the Demon Realm

Chapter 85: Envoy of the Demon Realm

Lynn had to be both the spearhead and the support for Helena. It might be a bit tiring, but the rewards were visible.

Helena was a mature young woman, capable of strategizing for herself. She didn’t need Lynn to exert much effort; when the time was right, love would naturally blossom.

Moreover, she came with a buy-one-get-one-free service. Even if he didn’t buy, the freebie would willingly follow, but securing a pair of knight companions indeed unlocked a new achievement.

After roughly discussing some preparations with Helena, Lynn took his leave with his family.

After leaving Imperial City, Xiya didn’t choose to stay at Lynn’s house; instead, she went with Catherine to stay at her place for a while.

Vivian was even more reluctant to stay alone with Lynn. She shyly hugged him and went home.

Where there used to be a bustling household, in the blink of an eye, only Lynn was left, a lone man with two young daughters heading home.

Thankfully, both little ones were very considerate, obediently letting him hold their hands throughout the journey, only pausing briefly at the candy vendor.

Outside of Imperial City, Celestial Destiny City was just as usual, showing no noticeable changes. Common people still didn’t know that the empire had undergone a major change.

The Celestial Mandate Emperor, despised by many, had been passively transitioned to the Celestial Mandate Empress. Perhaps by tomorrow morning, there will be earth-shattering news spreading.

By then, people might not care who inherited the throne; as long as this emperor has abdicated, there must be some quiet celebration at home.

Unaware of it happening, Lynn and his family of three had returned to Lynn Mansion. Little Yuna wanted to take Little Yuri to play with grandma for a while, and Lynn naturally didn’t stop them.

Walking alone back home, as soon as he entered the door, Lynn frowned.

"Come out on your own."

Lynn locked the yard gate, walked into the living room by himself, and uttered a sentence without any context.

Following his words, a cloud of dark mist emerged from a vase on the decorative shelf, quickly forming into a figure cloaked in black robes.

"Greetings, His Majesty the Demon Emperor."

The shadowy figure kneeled on one knee from afar towards Lynn, uttering a hoarse and unpleasant sound, like an old witch from a fairy tale.

"You Demon Race really have some guts, daring to come and find me?"

The last time Lynn listened to that Demon Race woman’s words, though he didn’t fully believe her, he spared her life.

He thought after she escaped, the Demon Race wouldn’t come for a while, yet here they were, sending a small boss in just a few days.

Unlike the previous elite-level Demon Race spy, the one infiltrating his home now at least had Saint Tier strength. Though to him, anything below Level 900 was insignificant, this one counted as a formidable entity in the severely weakened Demon Race.

"Your Majesty the Demon Emperor, the current Demon Realm really needs you. Followers of the Destruction Demon God are still powerful, the positions of the Demon Kings are precarious, and a new round of war could erupt at any moment. Only with you in the Demon Realm to suppress everything can the suffering of war between the two realms be avoided."

With head bowed, the hunched figure spoke, revealing a full head of graying hair. Even by Demon Race standards, comparable to Elf Race longevity, she was old.

"Your narratives are always the same, but who knows what’s true. I may call myself invincible in Miracle World, but venturing into the unknown depths of the Demon Realm, who knows if I’ll encounter Demon Emperor Level or even Demon God Level foes."

Lynn was bold but not foolishly arrogant. Level 999 was merely the pinnacle in the game Miracle, not necessarily the top in the entire world.

Miracle World often witnessed miracles; gods above Thousand Level surely existed. And the Demon Race nearly destroyed Miracle World—who knows if they have a single 999-level world boss like the Demon Dragon Emperor.

Plus, the known Demon Gods include Destruction Demon God and Guardian Demon God. Who knows if they’ll appear in the Demon Realm, even if limited by the Wall of the World, their mere presence might pose significant threats.

Most importantly, Lynn’s Demon Race Level was only Saint Tier, while his Warrior Level, though still at Level 999, temporarily prevented him from using the most elite equipment, significantly weakening his strength.

"We know You, Your Majesty the Demon Emperor, do not easily trust us, so we’ve brought a treasure from the Demon Realm to enable direct communication with the Demon Kings."

Saying this, the old witch carefully extracted an item from the Spatial Ring, rotated it, and pointed it towards Lynn.

Glancing at it, Lynn found a gold-trimmed mirror, seemingly ordinary. Could this be the treasure of the Demon Realm?

Could it be the legendary Demon Mirror? If I ask who is the fairest of them all, will Snow White appear inside...

"Your Majesty the Demon Emperor, please infuse some magic power. My strength can’t activate it."

The old witch gently placed the mirror on the living room table and respectfully stepped back, yielding the position to Lynn.

Do I have to manually operate it? Isn’t it intelligent? Could there be some trick?

Lynn hesitated for a moment but quickly settled his mind. His spare magic power was insignificant; even if drained completely, it wouldn’t matter. On the contrary, it might restore him to peak condition—having the Holy Sword in hand, even the Demon Dragon Emperor couldn’t withstand it. How could he fear a mere Demon Mirror?

He wasn’t sure if, after the Imperial City massacre, his magic nearly touching higher Saint Tier was enough.

But Lynn didn’t dwell on it; boldness comes with skill. Saying nothing, he reached out and grasped the basin-sized Demon Mirror.

As his powerful magic poured in, the mirror began to emit a gleaming light, reviving the old witch at the side.

Such pure magic, worthy of the Demon Emperor’s successor, far superior even to the Proud Demon King. In the hierarchical Demon Realm, bloodline and magic purity (i.e., depth of Demonization) are crucial; anyone lacking either can’t ascend high.

"Your Majesty the Demon Emperor, please withdraw your power, it’s sufficient."

Less than a minute in, the old witch made a quiet step forward to remind Lynn, who then released his grip.

As soon as he let go, the mirror which reflected his handsome visage transitioned to show another figure—a relatively youthful Demon Race girl.

Her face covered in black gauze... uh, which was more like a black mask from Lynn’s previous world, concealing her mouth and nose completely.

Even with just her eyes revealed, her beauty was apparent.

Regrettably, the mirror was too small, only reflecting a headshot, not her figure, slightly diminishing the impact of the masked beauty.

"Proud Demon King Ilya Murphy, greetings to His Majesty the Demon Emperor."

Though the mirror couldn’t capture her actions, Lynn could see that the Demon Race girl named Ilya showed no courtesy.

True to her title, even facing the highest Demon Emperor, she retained arrogance and rudeness.
