Vol 2 Chapter 188 The Troubled Sylvia

She had advanced, but Sylutia was filled with nothing but worry.

She had just been thinking about familiarizing herself with her various abilities, then properly consolidating her current stage, and then learning the secret arts and abilities she ought to have. She never expected that before she could even fully master the things of the Third Tier, she had now reached the Fourth Tier.

How could it be this fast? She hadn't even fully grasped everything a Third Tier 'gardener' was supposed to learn, and now she had already advanced to the Fourth Tier. The speed was simply too frighteningly fast, giving her a sense of unease, like standing on unsteady ground.

Advancing this quickly, could there be hidden dangers? Advancing this fast, would she be seen as a monster, or provoke unknown suspicions and the like? All these thoughts made her somewhat distressed.

"Hmm, how am I going to explain this when I get back?"

"Say I received a gift from an otherworldly lifeform? Or say I found the legacy of some hidden existence?" Sylutia sat amidst the sea of flowers, carefully pondering her options. This scenario felt quite similar to when she was late coming home from school as a child, trying to come up with an excuse to explain to her parents.

"...Saying it was a gift from an otherworldly lifeform is probably too bizarre. I'd better just say I found some special legacy and gained an upgrade from it." After thinking it over and over, Sylutia could only settle on this answer.

Only now did she have the mind to carefully examine her own status, to see what changes had occurred after her advancement.

Ability Cards: [Floral Nectar Breathing Technique Lv.5] [Natural Growth Lv.6] [Flower Blooming Method Lv.7]

Compared to the Third Tier, the changes in abilities upon reaching the Fourth Tier weren't overwhelmingly vast. However, the various abilities on her Fate Card had still leveled up. The most important gain was the effect [Blazing Sun Flower]. The complete manifestation of this ability should be the dual Aspect of 'Scorching Sun·Verdant Nectar'. But currently, Sylutia's strength was insufficient; she had not yet accommodated and mastered the 'Scorching Sun' Aspect, and could only display a small portion of this effect's power.

Its effect wasn't merely the literal granting of a flames attribute to cultivated flowers. It could also add flame characteristics when casting flower-based spells. If, in the future, Sylutia mastered both 'Verdant Nectar' and 'Scorching Sun', she could fully unleash its effects.

If, in the distant future, Sylutia took this ability as her core and continuously developed and elevated it, she might one day become like that Sorceress from the other world, attaining equally formidable power, creating a concept unique to her, and altering the world's laws.

However, that was likely a very distant future. For now, she didn't need to consider so much.

Her core ability, [Autumn Garden], didn't change much during the advancement. It merely gained an additional 100% yield increase. Now, it was roughly three times the normal yield. In other words, if she cultivated a tree outside that could bear 10 fruits, cultivating the same tree within the garden would yield 30 fruits.

Such a simple, unadorned boost in quantity, Sylutia mused wryly.

Perhaps influenced by the [Blazing Sun Flower], among the twelve plants cultivated in the garden, the 'Fire Persimmon' directly awakened, becoming one of the mastered, usable plants.

The young girl closed her eyes in meditation, sensing the scenery within that garden. On one side, several fiery-red persimmon trees grew lush and vigorous. Their leaves resembled layered clouds ablaze, densely overlapping. Below them, small, tangerine-red, crystal-like persimmons hung high, slowly maturing.

They would probably take another three months to ripen, after which they would bear fruit once a year. The fiery-red persimmons among them would be of 'Third Tier·Rare' quality, containing scalding, pure flame nectar.

After checking her own condition, Sylutia secretly vowed to definitely control the advancement of her 'Verdant Nectar' Aspect in the future. Several times now, it had been so sudden, rudely interrupting her plans.

Now, she had just entered the Third Tier a little over a year ago, and had already stepped into the Fourth Tier. This speed was truly too shocking. She didn't even know how to explain it. If she were publicized as some kind of eye-catching genius, her peaceful life would be over.

Fame wasn't necessarily a good thing. It wasn't that she feared being misunderstood or suspected, but with greater fame came many more eyes on her, dragging her into numerous affairs. That would consume her energy, preventing her from relaxing in a corner and doing the things she loved.

Like taking afternoon naps, reading leisurely books, daydreaming, taking walks, making little things she liked, and so on.

She could understand everyone's joyous, surprised feelings, but Sylutia still preferred a more relaxed, ordinary daily life.

It's just that this time, she probably wouldn't be able to escape it.

Back when she was Second Tier, she had been assigned to the Darkmist Mountains to develop the garrison and serve as its leader. Now that she had reached the Fourth Tier, she had no idea what kind of mission would be entrusted to her next.

To be honest, she held quite a favorable impression of the Hidden Grove alliance. If they truly requested something of her, as long as it wasn't too unreasonable, she would most likely agree.

Shaking her head, Sylutia gathered the strands of hair dancing in the breeze and tied them back. She stood up, once again gazing into the distance at the mountains and plains covered in Bright Flame Cornflowers. Thousands upon thousands of fiery-red, golden-flamed blossoms swayed gently in the wind, and her heart gradually grew calm.

It was truly wonderful, seeing these gorgeously burning flowers. Hazily, she felt her own life gain a bit more scorching vitality, sparking a sliver of anticipation for the future.
