Vol 2 Chapter 159 The Curtain Falls

"Lord Yero, Her Highness Sylutia is looking for you."

In the administrative hall of the palace, Yero, dressed in a light gray robe, was organizing the statistical data reports in his hands, all recently compiled.

"I understand." He stood up, pressed the roughly sorted papers down with a book, then picked up his coat and put it on, following the maidservant towards the northern side of the palace.

Ascending along the steps, then passing through a long corridor, Yero arrived at a spacious office. One side of the room held many desks, where numerous scholars dressed similarly to him were working, checking reports and data. The other side was relatively empty, where the silver-haired figure sat at a desk, writing replies.

After waiting a moment, Sylutia finished writing the reply and looked up.

"Senior Yero." She gave a slight nod, then stood up. Yero also stepped forward at this time.

"I asked Senior Yero to come here this time because there is a matter I'd like to entrust to you." Sylutia walked to one side, where a map of Regas hung.

"Although we found many past records within the halls of Regas, many things are outdated and no longer match the current situation. This often causes many problems in the negotiation and handling of administrative affairs."

"Therefore, after discussing with Her Majesty the Queen, we have decided to dispatch a team to various locations for investigation, verification, and statistical assessment of local conditions."With the kingdom newly established, there was an urgent need to survey the farmland acreage, population, industries, resources, living conditions, climate conditions, and more across the regions. This was a vast and essential project. The entire process would require immense effort, but it was also an excellent opportunity for personal development.

"Currently within the kingdom, there are eight scholars who have reached the Third Tier. Most of them need to be responsible for more important matters, such as diplomatic communication, organizing the library, bureaucratic assessment and selection, etc. So, the most suitable people for this task are Second Tier scholars. It also happens to be a good opportunity for them to complete their Trials."

"If Senior Yero can accomplish this task, I believe advancing to the Third Tier should not be a problem." It was indeed a task that consumed energy and time, but it was also an exceptionally rare opportunity. In the past, it would never have been the turn of a scholar like Yero, who had no connections or background and possessed average talent.

After hearing Sylutia describe the task, Yero was extremely excited and grateful.

"Thank you, Lady Tia. I will definitely devote all my strength to complete the task." He clasped his fists and bowed, his voice earnest in reply.

Seeing him readily accept, Sylutia also felt relieved. However, this task was indeed a major undertaking that required many 'First Tier' and 'Second Tier' scholars to assist in its completion. Regas did not possess so many talents.

It seemed they could only seek personnel support from other organizations. In fact, such opportunities were not common. If Regas was willing, there should be many young scholars from various schools willing to come and showcase their abilities, putting their ambitions into practice.

In the past, the organization Regas cooperated with most was 'Candlekeep'. Now, they could similarly ask them for support, requesting they dispatch more scholars. Additionally, Sylutia thought of her previous friend, Sophitina, that intellectual young lady from the 'Scribe School'.

The headquarters of the 'Scribe School' was located in the western region of the southern continent, very far from Regas. This was a rather unique school. Their main duty was to seal forbidden books, preventing their indiscriminate dissemination. Members of the school had always kept a low profile, and few in the outside world knew about them.

Thinking of this, Sylutia wrote a letter to be mailed back to the Hidden Grove, inviting Sophitina, wondering if she would be willing to come.

Considering it wouldn't be good for the 'Candlekeep' school to have a monopoly, Sylutia also invited the 'Whitebird School'. Along with the 'Candlekeep' school, they were the two most well-known 'Castle' Aspect schools in the southern continent, and both also incorporated the practice of the 'Secret Word' Aspect.

For the next month, Sylutia was constantly busy with various matters of the newly established kingdom. The new Regas was also slowly building its new administrative system amidst tension and busyness.

That afternoon, after handling administrative affairs, Sylutia came to the empty tower in the palace for a walk, gazing at the distant scenery.

In the clear sky, several white birds flew past, disappearing into the vast expanse of emerald green plains below.

The hot summer breeze blew, and under the bright, dazzling sunlight, the colors of the trees, flowers, and grass became more vivid.

Sitting on an unmanned battlement of the city wall, Sylutia stretched out her legs. Her pure white skirt fluttered in the wind, and a cool current of air passed through the front of her garment.

She leaned against the slightly cold, hard stone bricks, enjoying this undisturbed tranquility, relaxing the nerves tightened from work, closing her eyes and listening to the sound of the wind in her ears.

Time passed slowly until around two in the afternoon. Mursa, from a window in the distance, lightly waved her arm at Sylutia, smiling and beckoning to her, seemingly inviting her over.

The young girl opened her eyes, saw Mursa waving, nodded, then leaped down effortlessly. The tips of her feet landed on the edges of the stone wall, and she floated down as lightly as a butterfly to the window of this young queen.

"Tia just came over like that." Mursa covered her mouth, her eyes smiling yet carrying a hint of curiosity and surprise.

"I thought you would take the stairs and the corridor."

As Sylutia stepped down from the windowsill, her feet lightly touching the black-and-white checkered floor, she walked to stand before Queen Mursa.

"Normally, I would indeed do that."

"But today, I suddenly wanted to try a new way." The young girl answered, running her fingers through the hair in front of her.

"Trying new things is good, Tia." Queen Mursa invited Sylutia to sit down, then began speaking about recent situations.

"Now, the Anty garrison troops within Regas have basically been cleared and accounted for. Those who should be tried, those who should be repatriated, it's mostly all done."

"However, some people are still asking how Carkis should be dealt with. I wonder what suggestions Tia might have."

"Carkis, huh..." Sylutia recalled that 'Baron Prison Hound' she met at the banquet, who had tried to recruit her back then.

This famous Anty general was now a prisoner of Regas. During his campaign against the Hundred-Eyes Sect, he not only caused heavy casualties among the Anty soldiers but also, due to various reasons, ultimately led to the arrival of the vulture-lion. In the end, he was stripped of his general title by the Kingdom of Ante, pleasing neither side.

"Has he said anything? For example, how the three-headed hellhound was summoned, or admitting his own crimes?"

"The interrogating officials reported that he admits to everything, only hoping we will spare his life. He's even willing to pledge loyalty to us." Mursa recounted the report.

"I'm somewhat uncertain, so I'm asking Tia how you plan to deal with him."

"Such a person cannot be easily trusted." Sylutia shook her head. That general with a sinister and ruthless character would do anything to achieve his goals. His talk of loyalty now was probably just to save his life.

"I'll go to the prison to see the situation, then decide how to handle it."

"Then I'll leave it to you, Tia." Mursa nodded, then brought up another matter.

"What about the Hundred-Eyes Sect? How does Tia plan to handle them?"

"The Hundred-Eyes Sect must be disbanded. Some of the lower-tier personnel will be imprisoned first for reformation and guidance before being released. As for the mid-to-high tier, there aren't many personnel above the Third Tier left now. I'll make them obedient afterwards." Sylutia thought for a moment. It seemed she could use her identity as the 'Arrival' to manage these remaining mid-level members of the sect.

The many affairs of Regas slowly stabilized. That earth-shattering turmoil and great battle from several months ago also gradually drew to a close.

Perhaps this story would be recorded, embellished, and beautified by future generations into historical material about the revival of Regas, becoming a ballad sung for a time. But today, the young girl who was the protagonist of it all was not yet aware of such things.
