Vol 2 Chapter 55 Signing the Deal

In the morning, the wagons loaded with wheat departed from the valley. There were three wagons in total, carrying a combined 3000 jin.

The tall draft horse pulled the wagons forward without much strain, even having some energy to spare. Since it knew the way, Sylutia didn't need to direct it. She just needed to lie down for a nap on the haystack in the wagon, waiting until they arrived.

The journey was a long, bumpy ride through the vast grassy plains.

At noon, Sylutia arrived at White Stone Fortress. She first parked the wagons at the post station, then went to find the bakery she had previously collaborated with.

The air here carried a faint, sweet fragrance along with the warmth radiating from the ovens. After entering the bakery, Sylutia explained her purpose for coming.

"Please wait here in the front for a moment. Instructor Fred is currently busy in the back kitchen preparing today's bread and pastries."

So, she went to wait in the front dining area. A staff member nearby brought her some delicious pastries.

"Miss Tia, this is a cake we made fresh today."

【Watermelon Cake】(Superior): Delicious watermelon pieces paired with soft, sweet cake cream, delivering an exceptional taste experience. (Stamina Recovery +2, Refreshing +1, Deliciousness +2)"Thank you."

Sylutia used a small fork to take a bite. The cool watermelon mixed with the cream melted in her mouth, the taste was outstanding.

Today she wore a light yellow dress. The pale yellow skirt had white ruffled lace, and the cuffs and collar were also adorned with white ribbons, making her look as if she were in the midst of a vibrant summer.

This was a dress Lady Franne had specially tailored for her last year. Unfortunately, she had only worn it twice. Having finally returned this time, she took it out and wore it today.

The ends of her silver hair were slightly curled up, probably from being bent during her morning nap, adding a touch of everyday cuteness to the young girl's demeanor.

After enjoying the cake, Sylutia didn't have to wait long before the familiar baker emerged from the back kitchen, still carrying a faint scent of baked sweets.

"So it's Tia." He came over and sat down at the young girl's table.

"You must have had another good harvest this time? I was actually planning to go find you to purchase another batch of goods, but unfortunately you weren't in the valley at the time, only a group of toads were tending to things." He shook his head with some regret.

"I'm here this time to continue our transaction." Sylutia thought for a moment, then took out a small bag of wheat grain flour and placed it on the table.

"This is Rare-grade wheat."

"Oh." Baker Fred's eyes showed some surprise. He took the small bag of grains and even tasted a bit of the faint flour inside.

"This batch is really good. I wonder how much you can provide, Tia." He assumed her production wouldn't be very high.

Hearing this, Tia tilted her head, placed a finger on her chin, and thought for a moment.

"How much do you need?"

"Well, under normal circumstances, our bakery consumes about 100 jin of flour daily. However, most customers don't require very high quality, so the demand for high-quality flour is around 20 jin. That's about 600 jin per month."

I see, Sylutia calculated in her mind, then spoke.

"I'll be leaving the Glittergold Plains next year. However, in the half year before I leave, I'll be cultivating a large quantity of high-quality wheat. If you want to stockpile and purchase, just give me a specific amount, and I'll have it ready later."

"Also, one more thing. The Superior-grade wheat I sold you before won't be available anymore. Now, there's only 'Rare'-grade quality and 'Perfect'-grade quality wheat. I don't know if you can handle the corresponding prices."

Hearing the young girl's words, Fred's fingers unconsciously rubbed together.

What did she mean, no Superior-grade, only Rare-grade and Perfect-grade? Was that something a normal person said? He had indeed used Rare-grade and Perfect-grade ingredients before, but each time he had to be careful and sparing, because those noble gardeners wouldn't sell their produce to him. They would directly supply it to the various major organizations within the association in exchange for benefits.

Seeing the baker across from her remain silent, Sylutia thought for a moment and took out the badge from inside her collar.

Seeing this badge with its Mithril-like luster, Fred's eyes went wide. He never imagined he would encounter an apprentice like this. Now, everything made perfect sense.

No wonder she wasn't the least bit afraid of the association questioning or investigating her for selling high-quality produce. No wonder her tone was so grand, saying she could provide as much as needed.

"Apologies, I was a bit distracted just now. Let's continue discussing our cooperation." Seeing the other party finally respond, the young girl breathed a sigh of relief in her heart. She had thought this deal was going to fall through.

"Since you say you'll be leaving in half a year and might not return to the Glittergold Plains for a long time, we will place an order for enough ingredients to store." He was also pondering just how much he needed.

If it were just for his own use, 600 jin per month meant 7200 jin per year. Considering future demand, he could at most procure a two-year supply, which would be 14,400 jin.

However, he also had friends. The bakers' guild he belonged to, although a very small organization, had a group of acquaintances. They also desperately needed high-quality raw materials. If he sold some of the ingredients to them, he could earn a middleman's fee, and they would be willing to pay gladly.

This way, the pressure of his own procurement would also lessen.

"I plan to initially purchase 5000 jin of Rare-grade wheat and 300 jin of Perfect-grade wheat. If the quality meets standards, I will increase the order within the next three months for stockpiling. At most, I might procure up to 15,000 jin of ingredient reserves." Fred told the young girl.

"No problem." The young girl blinked. The crops currently stored in her warehouse were sufficient to handle this. Besides, in a few more months, she would harvest the next batch of crops.

Afterwards, the two negotiated and finalized the specific details and prices. The market price for Rare-grade wheat was 10 silver coins, but purchasing channels were extremely scarce, so the final price Tia gave was 12 silver coins per jin. As for Perfect-grade wheat, it was 2 gold coins per jin.

"12 x 5000 = 60,000 silver coins = 600 gold coins. 300 x 2 = 600 gold coins. That's a total of 1200 gold coins." This was no small sum, roughly equivalent to eight months of revenue for the Wind Furnace Bakery. If you subtracted costs, it was almost a year's profit.

The bakery had 3 Second Tier bakers, 26 First Tier baker apprentices, and over twenty other staff members. The share for each person would be quite decent.

After settling the contract, Sylutia brought over the 3000 jin of wheat carried by the wagons for immediate delivery. The remaining portion would be delivered again in a few days.

"Oh, oh, this batch... it's so pure." While inspecting this 3000 jin of wheat, the expression on Fred's face went through several changes: first surprise, then joy, followed by intoxication, and finally, complete immersion in his own world.

"With this batch, a few of us at the bakery can also try to break through to the Third Tier. If we can climb even higher, and later produce a Fourth Tier Transcendent, we can officially register with the association and establish a small organization..."

"Ahem, alright, Mr. Fred. If you're satisfied, please sign the delivery receipt." Sylutia had to interrupt him.

Wheat, of all things, shouldn't it be described by its color and plump grains? Why did this guy's first words make it sound like he was enjoying some forbidden substance? Sylutia facepalmed in exasperation.

However, the other party was indeed very generous, buying without hesitation. She had originally thought there would be a lot of back-and-forth negotiation.

Now, with enough gold coins, she could also choose the courses she loved to study under Scholar Seraph.

Perhaps it was the hoarding instinct developed in her previous life, always wanting to add things she liked to a collection folder. Seeing that dazzling array of course lists, she also felt an impulse to take them all.

This was partly due to Sylutia's own personality and partly due to her yearning curiosity about the various mysterious knowledge of this world.
