Vol 2 Chapter 9 The Revelation of the Triad Law

Mountain winds blew through the valley, and the wheat gradually entered the booting stage.

The once crude fields now had neat, crisscrossing paths laid out. Sylutia, wearing a sun hat and a light cloth skirt, walked among them. The wheat here already reached past her waist, lush and verdant.

Her eyes blinked, and a verdant spectrum unfolded in her vision, informing her of the current growth status of these crops. Occasionally, she would note down some useful details.

('Gardening Skill - Wheat Branch' Proficiency +12)

The recent period of land reclamation, planting, and cultivation—a series of large-scale practices—had given Sylutia new insights and understanding into many detailed aspects of gardening. She had now reached [Gardening Skill Lv.6]. Further improvement, however, had become very difficult and could only be achieved by making breakthroughs in specific detailed branches.

It seemed that after 'Gardening Skill' reached Lv.6, she was facing the process of transitioning from breadth to mastery. She had to cultivate ten types of plants to perfect quality to further advance this skill.

[Gardening Art - Wheat Branch (Excellent)]: At your current level, you can easily cultivate wheat crops to excellent quality. Your proficiency is as simple as picking up a cup to drink water. (Progress 289/300)

Continuing her walk through the fields, Sylutia crouched down in a dense patch of wheat. She lightly touched the soil with her fingers, sensing the conditions beneath.

The 'Distortion' she had purified and dispelled a month ago was gradually spreading upward again. In about 30 more days, it would slowly begin to affect the plants on the surface. If left unattended, the initial weak influence would deepen bit by bit until, after another month, it returned to the original state from before Sylutia came to the valley.Farming here was truly not a simple task. Sylutia even began to suspect that among the three choices given at the time, coming to the Glittergold Plains might not have been the easiest and simplest one.

Perhaps she had been overconfident. Most apprentices would choose the fields around the citadel to complete their tasks. While the rewards and evaluation might not be high, the difficulty was indeed extremely low.

Standing up, the young woman patted off the small amount of dirt on her skirt. Smelling the faint, fresh scent of dense vegetation in the fields, she walked forward with light, unhurried steps.

('Gardening Skill - Wheat Branch' Proficiency +15)

After another round of sorting and analysis, her understanding of cultivating wheat continued to improve, now reaching the next stage.

[Gardening Art - Wheat Branch (Exceptional)]: At your current level, you can cultivate wheat crops to exceptional quality. (Progress 4/600)

However, reaching the exceptional stage was not as effortless as the excellent stage. Sylutia felt it was time to bring out the stored Verdant Dew Water.

In the hands of a gardener, 'Verdant Dew Water' was not merely something to catalyze plant growth; it was also an excellent tool for active regulation. It could help plants better absorb nutrients from the soil and water and supplement the gradually gestating 'Verdant Nectar' Aspect.

Without sufficient fertilizer, she currently could only use Verdant Dew Water as a substitute to encourage these crops to actively absorb more nutrients. The side effect was that the soil fertility here would become too low for continued wheat cultivation next time, requiring a switch to leguminous plants to replenish fertility.

As for why choose legumes, naturally, it was because many leguminous plants have nitrogen-fixing abilities, converting atmospheric nitrogen into nitrogen compounds usable by plants, essentially acting as natural fertilizer.

Although she didn't know exactly how the laws of this world operated, Sylutia had discovered from the books she read that there were very similar practices here. Scholar Hyde had also mentioned before that farmland must be rotated to maintain fertility.

Among leguminous plants, common ones like soybeans, peanuts, and peas all had similar effects. There were also some forage grasses, such as the Chinese milk vetch commonly used in paddy fields and the 'alfalfa' used on poor pastureland.

Judging by the condition of this land, she figured choosing 'alfalfa' would be much easier. Growing soybeans required a longer time and a large amount of water for irrigation, and the valley only had one well, which couldn't meet such massive watering demands.

Alfalfa had deep root systems that could actively absorb groundwater, thus relying much less on irrigation.

Unconsciously, she had already begun planning for the next phase. This sense of control over the present and the future gave Sylutia a strange feeling of steadiness and fulfillment.

Everything was orderly, everything was progressing steadily. It was as if order was gradually being born from formless, chaotic things, becoming tidy, aesthetically pleasing, and efficient.

In a daze, she felt an invisible path unfolding before her, causing the latent starlight within her Fate Card to surface.

Strange, why did she feel her [Alien Star] rank had a tendency to advance at this moment? Wasn't it supposed to advance by following other Aspects?

Sylutia returned to her small dwelling and carefully meditated, observing her own condition. She discovered that the originally latent 'Alien Star' had begun to manifest. On that card's night sky, faint outline sketches even appeared, resembling patterns of constellations yet to be drawn.

Slowly savoring this feeling, Sylutia decided it was better to be cautious and wait until [Verdant Nectar] caught up before making a choice.

During this period, because she continuously engaged in a large amount of gardening practice, she had vaguely achieved a balance in the 'Threefold Law,' causing the [Verdant Nectar] Aspect to improve significantly. If judged by data, then when she successfully cultivated the Swan Orchid last year, the strength of the 'Verdant Nectar' Aspect was around 1. During the assessment when she fought Iona, it reached around 5-6.

Over the past several months, although she hadn't gained any new abilities, because of her extensive involvement in plowing, planting, and cultivation, the [Verdant Nectar] Aspect had also gradually grown under the effect of the Threefold Law, reaching about 8.9 currently.

She had a premonition that if it reached above 9, she could attempt to step into 'Second Tier · Verdant Nectar.' As for the current [Alien Star], she felt its Aspect strength was around 9.8, almost to the point of overflowing. That is, the First Tier Fate Card was gradually becoming unable to restrain this powerful Aspect force.

As for what the Threefold are, they are Power (resources), Skill (knowledge), and Practice (trial).

The Threefold Law is the truth and balance of this world.

For example, to become a knight, even if you have a strong physique and power, noble character and combat techniques, if you only work in the fields, you still cannot become an exemplary knight. Only when you pick up a sword and use your character and skills to participate in battle—whether for conquest, protection, or chivalrous deeds—can you finally pass the trial and become a true knight.

Or, if you are an apothecary, you have material resources and naturally dexterous hands, knowledge of herbal concoction and precise techniques, but if you have never actually prepared this potion, it still doesn't mean you know how. Only by finally adding practice and truly concocting this potion does it mean you have mastered this ability.

This is how the Threefold Law manifests in various fields. If one follows its principles, they can gain tremendous assistance in advancement.

However, the application of the 'Threefold Law' goes far beyond this. Previously, when Lady Franne taught her the Flower Blooming Method, she specifically emphasized that the final power of the Flower Blooming Method also drew from the 'Threefold Law.' That is, her own 'Verdant Nectar' rank (representing power), the strength of the Flower Blooming Method ability (representing skill), and the strength and type of flower chosen (representing practice).

The combination of these three determines the final power, meaning increasing any one of the three items can enhance the final outcome.

Now, [Alien Star] had gained an inexplicable boost. Did this mean that some of her actions, stumbled upon by chance, aligned with the concept and traits of [Alien Star]?

According to current scholarly summary, 'Alien Star' is the peering and revelation from other realms, ineffable knowledge and phenomena.

Could it be that her use of knowledge and experience from her previous life also counted as aligning with the concept of Alien Star? Or did this involve a deeper meaning related to the origin of her talent?
