The Cornflower Witch

Chapter 118: The Innocent Elf Girl

Chapter 118: The Innocent Elf Girl

Sylutia walked down the quiet corridor and found the room marked with the number 3. On the door was the name 'Florerella' written in a flowing, floral script.

She knocked gently, and soon the door opened, revealing the familiar elf with wavy golden hair standing before the girl.

"Welcome, Sylutia." The other girl was still wearing her elaborate long dress with flower-embroidered sleeves. Her pink eyes shone with joy and happiness as she led Sylutia into the room.

The entire room was like a blooming sea of pink and white flowers. Blossoms of various sizes in pure white, light pink, and cherry blossom hues adorned the space, making one feel as if they had stepped into a flower-filled vine house.

Florerella had Sylutia sit first on the soft fabric sofa, then took a porcelain teapot decorated with birds and flowers to pour her tea, placing it before her.

"Is this a flower Tia cultivated herself? It's so beautiful~" She held the 'Fire Glow Orchid' that Sylutia had brought as a return gift, her eyes filled with boundless delight.

"I cultivated it under my teacher's guidance. It's called 'Fire Glow Orchid,' and it can release a warm, scorching aura." Sylutia explained the key points and experiences of cultivating the Fire Glow Orchid to her.

"Thank you, Tia. I've noted it down. I'll definitely take good care of this child later." Florerella nodded earnestly.

Then Florerella took Sylutia on a tour around her room, introducing the arrangements of various flowers and potted plants. It felt like walking through a botanical garden.

"I'm sorry, I've planted too many flowers in my room, so it's a bit crowded." Although there were many blooming flowers, creating a layered, intricate beauty, overall it didn't feel too crowded. Or perhaps this kind of beauty required a large number of flowers to accentuate; too few would make it seem desolate."Not at all, I think it's very beautiful." Sylutia wasn't lying. This style truly matched the beautiful elf before her, blending into one.

Among all the people Sylutia had met, this elf girl was probably the most beautiful, second only to her mother in her memories. In terms of temperament, Lady Franne might be more mature, while Florerella hadn't fully grown up yet.

"Really? Thank you for the compliment, Tia~" The other girl clasped her hands together, responding happily.

Then the two chatted about their respective backgrounds, which counted as a proper self-introduction, after all, their communication via notes at noon had been limited.

"Tia is from Regas, huh? I think I've heard of that place. It was founded by the 'Knight King' Regard." It was rare for someone in the Camel Tower to know about this small country.

"I wasn't actually born on this continent, but in the Fragrant Wind Forest on the Second Continent, where many elves live." Florerella told Sylutia about her hometown.

"A couple of years ago, Father asked if I wanted to go out and travel a bit. So I followed a transoceanic fleet and came here. It took a really long time on the journey." She combed through the golden hair at her shoulders with both hands, reminiscing.

"The elves back home aren't willing to come out, but that easily leads to isolation and falling behind. So every once in a while, they send young elves out to travel."

"Oh right, I also cultivate the [Verdant Nectar] Aspect. I love cultivating flowers. When I saw you eating in the dining hall at noon, I sensed a similar aura, so I was very happy and took the initiative to contact you." Florerella spoke softly and gently, carrying an unconscious allure.

Fortunately, Sylutia was deeply favored by the Luminous Moon and could resist this unconscious charm, remaining unaffected the entire time.

Despite having a rather voluptuous figure and a mature-looking appearance and temperament, her speech had a contrasting soft, delicate quality. This made Sylutia wonder if Florerella was liked and cherished by many people.

As the two chatted about their shared love for gardening, numerous topics exploded, and they almost lost themselves in the conversation.

By the time Sylutia checked the time again, it was already midnight.

Four hours had passed in a flash, making her reluctant to part.

"It's already very late today, Florerella." Sylutia had to take the initiative to remind her.

"Let's stop here for today. We can continue our exchange tomorrow." She stood up.

Hearing this, Florerella also realized how late it was.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I completely lost track of time." Florerella lifted her skirt slightly in apology.

"There's no need to be so polite." Even Sylutia felt this elf girl was too courteous.

"Mmm, is Tia free tomorrow?" Florerella looked at the girl expectantly, her light pink eyes like shimmering, flowing lake water, exceptionally moving.

The girl shook her head slightly, not expecting this elf girl to be so clingy. But she really didn't have anything planned for tomorrow.

"I am free. What time will Florerella wake up tomorrow?" Sylutia kind of wanted to sleep in a bit longer.

"I can wake up at five in the morning and wait for Tia." Her words made Sylutia feel a faint pang of guilt. Should she also get up a bit earlier?

"No need to wake up that early, Florerella. Sleep in a bit more tomorrow. I'll come find you at ten, we can go downstairs for a walk, and then have lunch together."

"Okay, Tia~"

When saying goodbye, Florerella gently hugged the girl. The touch of her soft body let Sylutia catch a faint, warm floral scent.

...

Returning to her own room, Sylutia remembered the [Ice Cup Flower] she had placed in the water bottle earlier. The water in the bottle had now frozen solid.

She prepared a flower pot and soil again, inserted the Ice Cup Flower into the soil, then poured a small amount of Verdant Dew Water over it. She combed through the internal water-conducting textures of the Ice Cup Flower to help it absorb the water, then carefully guided it to grow a few small roots, anchoring it in the soil.

This should allow it to survive long-term. However, she had absolutely no clue how to cultivate it in the future. After all, unlike ordinary plants, this Ice Cup Flower was an innate supernatural plant.

She'd ask Florerella about it tomorrow. She made a mental note of this, then went to take a bath.

Taking off her clothes and stepping barefoot into the steaming hot water, she slowly submerged her body. Sylutia felt waves of warmth spreading from the water.

*Haa*, this feels pretty nice. She leaned back in the small bathtub, looking up at the snow-white ceiling, her eyes slightly closed as she relaxed her mind.

After dozing off for a few minutes, Sylutia got out of the water, dried herself with a towel, changed into soft pajamas, and headed to the bedroom.

Sitting up against the headboard, she placed her notebook on the quilt, briefly recording today's experiences and some points to pay attention to. Then she turned off the bedside glow lamp, pulled up the covers, and went to sleep.

She slept soundly through the night.

The next morning, the clock in the living room woke the girl. She opened the curtains and looked out the thick glass window. The sky was already bright, but all she could see was a vast expanse of white, hazy fog. She had no idea where the camel was currently.

This window was completely sealed and couldn't be opened.

Then she closed the curtains, returned to bed, burrowed back into the warm quilt, and slept for another two hours before stretching and getting up.

It was almost nine o'clock. She needed to get ready to go to Florerella's place.

She combed her hair, washed up, changed into the white dress she would wear today, tied the bow on her hair, fastened the ribbon at her collar, adjusted the silk ribbon at her waist, then put on her small leather shoes. This outfit, prepared for her by Lady Franne, had a slightly childish style, making the already youthful Sylutia look even younger and cuter.

Not long after leaving her room, Sylutia saw Florerella waving to her in the corridor. When Florerella saw Sylutia appear, she lifted her skirt and ran over, overjoyed.

This girl must have been waiting outside for a long time.

Holding Florerella's hand, the two girls chatted and laughed as they slowly walked down the stairs.
