Maya's voice was hoarse and she notices their soldiers too start failing. They must have underestimated The Southern Realm! Or the Realm predicted this war and acc.u.mulated additional battalion of forces in prior. With no other option she decides to lift Kalki.
Wars can never be predicted clearly.
But as soon she held his shoulder to lift him, she cries in agony as an immense burning pain hit her from inside her chest.
Her eyes sting at the agony and she looks at Kalki in shook. She couldn't understand this situation but her mind recalls how she felt his pain when she stabbed him last time. She blinks in confusion with this sudden realization and stares at him strangely.
'Is he in this pain?! Am I really feeling... his pain?'
She could only lift him after gaining some strength to bear this pain. She also notices the men can't fight forever for them. She looks around for something to hurt herself. She never would have thought that someday she would hurt herself for the sake of others. Not to mention for Kalki's sake.
As if her body knows better than her mind, she grabs a sharp metal near them and cuts her palm.
With some increased strength, she takes a deep breath as if preparing for the upcoming pain. She holds him and winces feeling the same burning sensation again. But she bears for the sake of people dying for their safety!
She lifts him by her shoulder. She didn't even stepped out of the chamber she felt the chamber fell silent.
She turns to look at Marcus fell on the ground with endless injuries. Her heart trembles and the men looking at her as if she was their prey. She has underestimated them and before she realizes that she was late too. Even though she did everything she could do faster than ever, this situation made her fastest efforts look too slow.
Marcus should have hurried as soon as he heard of Kalki's situation. Even if the soldiers reach here soon, that will be too late. As Marcus is now defeated brutally and few soldiers came with him also ended up like him. It's a relief that they are alive even though they are in the verge of death!
The Royal doctors can save them still, can't they?
The man lift his sword and about to stab right through Marcus's chest.
"Don't!"
Maya screamed out of nowhere making him smirk at her smugly.
He just shrugs arrogantly "Try me, Queen"
Maya finds difficult to even speak "Don't kill him-".
He simply rebukes "Says the one who killed many of us!"
Maya could only stare at them warily. She can't let Marcus die. He was very nice to her and the only one who helped her. She can't see him die in front of her. Even if she leaves they will kill him.
The man stomps his heavy foot on Marcus stomach making Marcus to spit blood from his mouth, earning a pitifully gasp from Maya
She warns staring at Marcus's pathetic state "Leave him alone!".
'If that thing doesn't leave him alone and back off....'.
She has lost it. One more wrong move. He will regret everything! She will make him regret being born in this world in the first place!
He is unaware of his miserable fortune and scoffs "I find this amusing! This little girl demanding us to leave him alone when she herself is in danger. Don't you think you should be begging for your life instead, little one?".
She smirks suddenly with a strange glint in her eyes "Do you have a family, young man?".
Something else was hidden in her sentence which can't be understood by anyone there. But we know why and when she will ask that question.
Yes. She is ready now. She already noticed their country soldiers were unconscious even Marcus. She doesn't have to worry that some might see her powers now. Even if they see, she would just kill them. Because...
Her life is at risk! Even if Kalki dies today, she might die too because of him. At this point, that doesn't matter to her whether they are Kalki's enemies or hers. They are her enemies if they are here to kill Kalki!
After scrutinizing Maya from head to toe, the man smirks "No. But your emotionally tricking question can't save you today-".

The men around her "...." Did she just throw The Northern Realm's Crown Prince Kalki in the floor?!
Kalki's grunt made everyone to stare back from Kalki to Maya in astonishment.

The man frowns at her weird glare which looked as if ridiculing him and screams in agony in next moment.

Other men stepped back and away from him in horror!
The man started to burn in fire with blood freezing screams.
She chuckles playfully looking around them "Now we are scared, aren't we?!"
They were literally standing frozen in fear and their fear caused Maya to become too pleased than ever.
In next moment other men too caught by fire out of nowhere.
She looks around the burning chamber and snaps at the ceiling loudly "Enough!"

SWOOOOOSH!
The fire around her disappears in next moment!
Once fire-caught and smoke filled chamber is now looked nothing but half burnt place!
She looks around the unconscious and dead men unconcerned. Her eyes caught Kalki in a corner and her eyes softened. She walks towards him slowly. She kneels beside him and about to touch his face but stops suddenly.
As if snapped out from a dream, Maya looks stunned.
'What is happening-'.
When she subconsciously looked around, she gasps in shock. She felt her head spinning and falls beside Kalki. Her hand caught his unintentionally before lying unconscious on the floor next to Kalki.
Kalki opens his eyes finally and smirks.
