Seeing everyone staring at her speechlessly, Maya continues nervously "I-I was unaware of the procedures of bringing the woman inside the Pavilion. As soon as I saw her poisoning her own children due to the famine..I couldn't think of any other ways. Without thinking much I brought her ...I didn't realise that I had to inform the Royals before doing so...After escaping from that conspiracy that night, I tried to save her life the next day..but I was too late...".
SILENCE!
Kalki could only darts his eyes on Maya who was really looking nervous as if she has no idea how this all would end. He can sense her fear behind this confession.
Xavier's face held a smile and heart is completely possessed by a proud adorance for her courage and good heart!
Everyone knew that Maya was the one who took the woman and her children to the Countryside Pavilion and killed her in the name of punishment! But they almost forgot her intention behind it or many of the people didn't really know at all! After all rumours don't carry every truth!
"Alas! The rumours only put the blame on her! Rumours never justify both sides, do they?!"
The crowd starts whispering and The Royals sighs in nervousness.
"Did she say she tried to save that woman?!".
'Jesus Christ! Wasn't she attacked by the conspirators in the Pavilion?! She still came back to save the woman?!".
"How did we not know about this?!".
A man asks confused "How can we believe this?! If that's the truth, how didn't we know about it?!".
A woman soldier steps forward from one of the corners of the Imperial Court and bows "I request His Highness's permission to clarify something at this point".
Kalki nods subtly and his eyes were staring right at Maya's as she was ogling at the woman soldier as if she has grown two heads.
Maya smiles seeing the woman while she speaks looking the crowd loudly "I request The Countryside Pavilion's Head Servant to narrate what happened that day".
Maya smiles seeing Sarah who was brought by the soldiers by her either side but frowns 'But...why are they bringing her as if she is a criminal?'.
Sarah smiles assuringly seeing Maya's worried frown as if she read Maya's mind.
Sarah greets the Court and everyone before narrating "I serve as The Head Servant in The Countryside Pavilion. On that day before the night of the conspiracy, Madam and I went for a walk. We heard some sobs of children and women in the Countryside village. By Our Madam's order I broke into the hut as Her Highness doesn't want to wait till I bring the soldiers for help".
"Once we entered the hut we were shocked to see that woman was almost poisoning her children and herself. She didn't appreciate Her Highness's kindness and blamed Our Crown Prince for everything. She even pushed Her Highness down making her to hurt her hand in the process. But Our Madam very kindly asked this servant to take the woman and her children. She promised them that they would be provided food and shelter in the Countryside Pavilion. I had sent this whole information as a message to the Royal Palace immediately that day but it never reached the Royal Palace. Investigations are still going on that to find everything".
Maya "..." Ha! She is literally telling every single thing happened! I didn't expect that she would mention every single thing! I myself have forgotten that I was pushed that day! Sarah! You know how to speak and whom side you should take!
Kalki only looks at everything quietly as if the information was not new at all.
Xavier's smiles broaden hearing Sarah's detailed narration.
The crowd suddenly found her narration captivating and listens to her without any noise or whispers this time. After all who can even speak against Maya at this revelation?!
Sarah continues as if she has no intention to stop in midway "After the night of the attack, no one of us knew where Her Highness went but when she returned...." and looks at Kalki whether she should continue further.
After all, how can she just reveal that Maya ended up fighting with the General for the sake of her and servants?!
'I know Maya is capable of fighting. But now...it's important to focus on how kind she was. The people mind the good heart than the strength at this point..'.
Seeing Kalki not responding, Sarah ends finally "Her highness immediately rushed to save the women and the children against the rules. I warned her about the rules that she could be punished but instead she ordered to treat the woman immediately and even carried both the children by herself to the infirmary".
Saying so, Sarah steps away after bowing respectfully.
The woman soldier bows and speaks "I have the responsibility to narrate everything happened that day from my side. As I was the one who sent Her Highness back to The Countryside Pavilion the next day before the woman died. I received a personal edict from His Majesty to protect Her Highness if I found her near the Harbour as she doesn't know the places then. His Majesty was worried that Her Highness might have lost her way in the new place as it was her second day in our Country. I also want to mention something after hearing the questions being asked by everyone here... At first, Her Highness refused to go back to the Pavilion. I am unaware of the reason but as soon as I informed her about the woman being punished, she immediately ran to save her".
Maya ".." Why would she mention that I didn't want to return?! So that everybody could think that I was a coward?! Who ran away after being attacked?!
Everyone's eyes turned soft and warm now. As if their every questions got answered by her successfully.
Maya smirks noticing the situation changing and asks triumphantly "Any other questions?"
The people starts looking at each other nervously until a small voice comes from the crowd "But you are different".
