Chapter 2452 - 31
Chapter 2452 - 31
He really just wanted to get under the quilt and chat, nothing else.
Of course, he also wanted to spend a little more time with his little wife.
Only when he was holding his little wife in his arms did he understand why he hadn’t liked Mu Huarong’s touch at all. Even though the two looked so alike it was hard to tell them apart, the feeling was still wrong.
Seeing that Mu Huaen was already fast asleep, he couldn’t help pinching her nose. "What a little fool. You have no idea how many flaws your scheme had."
The next morning, when Mu Huaen woke up, she saw Ye Haoyang standing by the window, looking outside, tall and straight as a crane, upright like a pine.
Hearing the rustling behind him, he turned his head, the corners of his mouth hooking into a deep curve.
"Awake?"
"Mm." Mu Huaen’s cheeks flushed slightly. "Why are you still here? Don’t you have to go to court?"
"I’m not a capital official. What court would I be going to?"
Seeing that she was still curled up under the covers, Ye Haoyang smiled knowingly. "I’ll go out first. Get yourself ready, we’ll eat together in a bit."
As soon as Ye Haoyang went out, Zhuan’er knocked and came in, carrying some water. But those two eyes of hers were brimming with laughter and nosy curiosity.
"Miss... how come Young Master Ye Er was here?"
Mu Huaen shot her a glare. "Don’t ask what you shouldn’t ask."
"How could that be? If it’s about you, Miss, this maid has to care." Zhuan’er helped her comb her hair, then snickered, "Miss, I heard all the things you two said yesterday. This maid knew Young Master Ye Er had good taste. You’re a hundred times better than the Eldest Miss."
"You and your loose tongue." At that she glared at the girl.
Zhuan’er didn’t mind, and kept chuckling. "Miss, this time you mustn’t give in to the Eldest Miss anymore."
"Hey, since when did you start teaching me what to do?"
Zhuan’er just smiled and kept quiet.
Master and maid finished getting ready and went to the outer room, where breakfast had already been brought in.
"I remember you like bean-curd-skin buns and egg-skin dumplings best. Come eat."
When it came to her preferences, Ye Haoyang could be said to know them like the back of his hand.
Mu Huaen naturally knew this as well. She had regretted swapping identities with Mu Huarong to begin with; now, seeing Ye Haoyang still as attentive and considerate as ever, her remorse deepened. Fortunately, Heaven had taken pity on her and everything had returned to the right path.
"Thank you." Mu Huaen sat down with a squinty smile.
Looking at all the little dishes on the plate in front of her, she felt she ought to reciprocate, so she ladled a bowl of crab porridge for Ye Haoyang.
Ye Haoyang was naturally delighted.
Maid Zhuan’er, watching the two masters being all sweet, was so happy she nearly clapped her hands in applause.
"Young Master, Miss Hua’en is here."
This "Hua’en" was, of course, Mu Huarong.
Thinking of the news he’d gotten a few days ago, Ye Haoyang nodded. "Let her in."
Mu Huaen didn’t want to see Mu Huarong at all, so she said, "Isn’t she here to see you? You talk to her. I don’t want to speak with her."
"You’re quite straightforward, but she’s not here for me."
"For me?" Mu Huaen thought to herself, Didn’t we already make everything clear between us? What’s she coming to me for now?
"Mm. When she comes in, whatever she says, you just go along with it."
"Why?"
Ye Haoyang rubbed her little head. "Be good, listen. I won’t harm you."
With that, Ye Haoyang leapt out through the window.
Not long after he left, Mu Huarong came over with Cui’er.
Seeing Zhuan’er sitting at the table eating with her, she said, "Sister, even if this isn’t the Mu Residence, a maid is still a maid and should know her place. How can a maid eat at the same table as her master?"
