Chapter 1935 - 1937: Life or Death, Just Make It Quick

"Hey, like a lazy donkey at the mill always needing to piss and poop, always finding excuses to slack off. Someday I’m definitely going to talk to the team leader about this."

Seeing the figure of Yang Chuxia in disguise heading inside, the other person on duty couldn’t help but mumble.

As luck would have it, the person knocked out by Yang Chuxia was known for slacking off, so when Yang Chuxia dragged him behind a rock to strip him, the other person suspected nothing, thinking he was just loafing around again.

At this point, Yang Chuxia had already snuck inside. With the map provided by Ye Wu’s team, it was easy to find the place where Ye Zi’an was held.

She also saw Luo Linhao and Baili Yan among others. Prince Le was interesting, not choosing to separate them into different cells but keeping them together, albeit in three different ones. And these three people seemed like they were guests rather than prisoners; aside from their messy hair and thinner frames, there was nothing odd about them, clearly not having suffered any torture.

Knowing they hadn’t been tortured, Yang Chuxia felt relieved.

Watching the three chatting through the iron bars, Yang Chuxia felt an inexplicable urge to laugh.

"Damn it, how long does he plan to keep us here?" Luo Linhao grumbled, "This guy is really a menace, ruining my plans to marry."

Listening to his grumbling, Ye Zi’an stayed silent while Baili Yan glared at him, "What are you getting so worked up about? Be patient."

"Ugh, if it’s life or death, just end it quickly." As Luo Linhao spoke, he somehow produced a rat from a corner, "Tsk, tsk, the food here is so bad, there’s not even any meat. It’s making me want to eat this."

Hearing this, Yang Chuxia felt disgusted. During her special agent training back in the day, she never ate rat meat even in harsh places; she’d rather eat leaves.

"I was worried you guys were suffering, but you all seem quite relaxed actually."

After a patrol passed by, Yang Chuxia stepped out from a shadowy spot.

A familiar voice emerged, and Luo Linhao froze for a moment before tentatively asking, "Cousin-in-law?"

Looking closer, he noted the soldier’s outfit and face hidden by a hat, her head lowered, not revealing her identity.

"What, been in jail so long you’ve forgotten me?" Yang Chuxia walked straight to the middle cell, "How are you?"

"Darling, you came after all?" Ye Zi’an rushed to the cell door, grabbing Yang Chuxia’s hands, "Sorry, darling, for worrying you."

"Of course, I had to come see for myself." Yang Chuxia chuckled lightly, "I’ve never broken into the Capital City’s prison; had to give it a try."

"How’s it going, enjoying your stay here?" Seeing how comfortable they were, Yang Chuxia couldn’t resist teasing them.

"Cousin-in-law, how come you didn’t bring us some food?" Luo Linhao said pitifully, "It’s cabbage and radishes every day here, making me sick."

"Be grateful you have food at all; you’re lucky they’re not serving you slop." Yang Chuxia glared at him with irritation.

"Ugh, with the cold weather, there isn’t even any slop."

Hearing this, Yang Chuxia looked at the three and noticed that each had a blanket.

"He treats you quite well, not letting you freeze."

"He’s got a screw loose," Luo Linhao shook his head, "His motives are hard to guess; who knows why he’s doing this."
