The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 705 - 792: I Am Not a Slut 3

Chapter 705 - 792: I Am Not a Slut 3

Anning got out of the car, walking slowly and unsteadily towards home.

The Jiang family lived in a very old neighborhood where the alleys were so many that taxis simply couldn’t drive through.

So Anning had no choice but to get out and walk a distance back herself.

She hadn’t gone far before she felt like someone was following her.

The corners of Anning’s lips curled up, further confirming her belief that her tragedy had been deliberately orchestrated by someone.

Taking out her cellphone, Anning stood under a street lamp to make a call.

Soon, the call connected and Mr. Jiang’s voice came through; Anning must have intentionally turned on the speakerphone. As Mr. Jiang was naturally loud-voiced, the sound emanating from the phone in the quiet alley was exceptionally loud and travelled quite a distance.

"Second child, what’s up?"

Anning coughed, her voice rough and somewhat quiet: "Dad, I had a drink with colleagues today, and now my legs are a bit weak. Can you come down and pick me up? I’m at..."

She mentioned her location.

Mr. Jiang got anxious right away: "What’s a young lady like you drinking for, honestly! Wait there, I’ll come down immediately. Don’t wander off, got it?"

"I know, Dad, come quickly. I feel terrible."

Anning intentionally used a pitiful tone as she spoke, and as she did, her eyes began to redden.

Ever since she started university, the original body had never acted spoiled with Mr. or Mrs. Jiang. She was very independent and strong, so Anning’s display of vulnerability tugged at Mr. Jiang’s heartstrings, and he became even more anxious, feeling that his daughter must have endured a great injustice, perhaps even been bullied by someone.

Mr. Jiang hung up the phone, grabbed a jacket, and rushed outside.

Mrs. Jiang came out of the kitchen: "Where are you going?"

Mr. Jiang waved his hand: "Second child’s drunk, asked me to go pick her up."

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Jiang hurriedly said: "Then go quickly, I’ll make some soup for her in the kitchen. This child, why on earth did she drink."

Mr. Jiang hurried downstairs and ran all the way to find Anning.

Being middle-aged, he bore all the typical characteristics of a middle-aged man, including a balding head, beer belly, and so on, since he had not exercised much ordinarily. This run really exhausted him.

When he found Anning, she was standing quietly and obediently under a street light, with no one else around.

"What did you drink?"

Mr. Jiang supported Anning, clearly worried, yet his mouth was full of complaints: "Let’s hurry back, your mom’s making soup for you. Have some when we get back, take a good bath, and get to sleep early to avoid a headache tomorrow."

The shadow lurking in the dark had been watching Anning being escorted by Mr. Jiang until reluctantly leaving.

Such a good opportunity today, yet he couldn’t get his hands on it, which made him so angry that his eyes turned red, but he was utterly powerless.

Anning staggered into the door following Mr. Jiang.

Mrs. Jiang was already waiting.

She hurried over to help when she saw Anning enter: "Why try to act tough if you can’t drink..."

Mrs. Jiang hadn’t finished speaking when Anning suddenly hugged her and burst into tears: "Mom, mom, I’m so sad..."

Anning’s crying stunned Mrs. Jiang and left Mr. Jiang at a loss.

Even the already sleeping elder sister Jiang Anan and younger sister Jiang Anping were woken up by the noise.

The sisters walked out of their rooms in their pajamas, and as soon as they stepped into the living room, they were stunned to see Anning crying breathlessly.

"What’s going on?"

After a while, Jiang Anan approached Mr. Jiang and asked, "Dad, what’s wrong with the second sister? Was she bullied?"

Mr. Jiang waved his hand dismissively: "Who knows what kind of drunken madness this is."

An Ping and Mrs. Jiang helped Anning to sit on the sofa, while An Nan brought a glass of water for Anning to drink.

Mr. Jiang rubbed his hands and sat down as well: "Second daughter, tell Dad what’s going on with you."

Anning looked up with red eyes, pitifully at Mr. Jiang.

Her gaze undoubtedly struck the softest part of Mr. Jiang’s heart, and his voice softened considerably as he spoke.

Rubbing her eyes, tears continuously rolling down, Anning said, "Dad, I don’t want to work there anymore. I want to resign. You don’t know, someone at the company is targeting me. Our supervisor is an older unmarried woman and also a stickler for the old ways. She really can’t stand those of us who are pretty and capable. She always assigns me the hardest tasks, and whenever I complete them well, I don’t get a word of praise but rather cold jeers. Today, during a team dinner, they all made me drink, Dad, I really don’t want to do this job anymore, I..."

Mr. Jiang exclaimed angrily, "What is this nonsense? They’re all picking on my daughter alone. We’re not doing this job anymore, let whoever wants to stay at that rotten company stay."

Mrs. Jiang, also deeply compassionate towards her children, said, "Then go resign tomorrow. Come back and rest for a while. With your mom and dad here, you won’t go hungry."

"Then, I will resign tomorrow."

Anning spoke softly, "I don’t want to go to those big companies anymore. I’d rather work from home on some private projects. With my abilities, I’m sure I can make enough to feed myself."

Mr. Jiang patted Anning’s shoulder: "Alright then, go resign tomorrow. If necessary, Dad will go with you. I’d like to ask your company’s management: what’s wrong with my daughter being beautiful? Did she consume their rice or wear their clothes? Are they so jealous because they themselves are unattractive, to target my daughter like this?"

An Nan and An Ping sat together. After the discussion was mostly over, they said, "Let’s go to sleep for now, and we can talk more about this tomorrow."

An Nan got up with a yawn: "I’m dead tired, I have to get up early tomorrow, I’m going to bed."

An Ping helped Anning into the room: "Second sister, what are you planning on doing? Take me with you."

Anning flicked An Ping’s forehead: "Take you where? You just focus on your studies and don’t think about anything else."

Once they were in the room and An Ping had gone to bed, Anning got up.

She opened her wardrobe and took out a box from the bottom drawer.

In this box were the original owner of the body’s documents and bank cards.

Anning took out two bank cards and calculated how much money was inside. She also took out the documents and placed them in her bag.

After putting everything away, Anning went to the balcony and gazed at the lights of the Wan Family’s home, lost in thought.

When she had opened the original owner’s wardrobe earlier, Anning noticed that the clothes were particularly conservative, completely out of sync with the original owner’s figure and temperament.

Still, even with such attire, the original owner stood out in a crowd, radiantly beautiful.

The original owner truly had an excellent figure, with fair skin, a beautiful face, and long legs, not to mention a considerable bust size.

This meant that when the original owner wore more casual clothes, she looked a bit chubby, although she would actually suit clothes that highlighted her figure. But wearing those clothes was overly sensual, and out of fear of what others would say, she never dared to wear them.

Even after graduating and starting work, she mostly appeared without makeup and dressed meticulously, yet somehow, a bad reputation still spread.

What Anning now wanted to do was to live an exciting and splendid life on behalf of the original owner, no matter what others said.

What’s wrong with looking good? It’s a gift from the heavens. Beauty must shine through.

The original owner absolutely had the assets to flaunt, and Anning was determined to let her release her unique radiance completely.
