Chapter 615 - 604: My Daughter Is a Vicious Supporting Female Character 4
Anning went to the city, not to find accommodation but directly to the police station.
At the entrance of the police station, Anning was stopped by someone.
The person who stopped her was a young police officer: "Miss, what are you here for?"
Anning sized up the officer: "I’m here to report a case."
"Come with me."
The officer led her inside, through a long corridor, and into a spacious room.
Several officers in uniform sat in the room, and upon seeing Anning enter, everyone felt as if the room brightened considerably.
"Sit."
The officer who brought Anning in pulled out a chair for her to sit and called two other officers over: "This lady says she wants to report a case, you two help take notes."
Anning nodded to the two officers.
She glanced at them; one male and one female officer, each had a name badge around their necks, the male officer was named Yu Jiang and the female officer was named Wang Min.
Perhaps because Anning was a young woman, Wang Min smiled at her: "Hello, my name is Wang Min, what’s your name, miss?"
Anning blinked: "Sheng Anning."
Yu Jiang began to record.
Wang Min asked: "Age, gender, place of origin..."
Anning recalled: "Age forty-five, gender female, my ancestral home is in Qinghe..."
Huh?
Wang Min jumped in shock: "Wait, how old did you say you are?"
Yu Jiang also paused in writing, and the few other colleagues sitting nearby leaned in.
"Miss, don’t talk nonsense, how can you possibly be forty-five?"
Anning smiled: "I’m not lying, I am indeed forty-five years old, you can check this, I was born in ’73, attended Jingcheng University, my husband is Zou Huai De, and I have a daughter named Zou Jingjing."
Wang Min was even more shocked upon hearing Anning elaborate.
"Could you repeat that?"
Anning repeated.
Then, Yu Jiang took out his phone to pull up a photo of Zou Jingjing, comparing Anning and Jingjing: "They really do look alike."
He showed the phone to Anning: "Ah, Auntie, is this your daughter?"
Anning frowned: "Comrade, when I was killed by my husband, my daughter hadn’t even turned one year old, how would I know what she looks like now, if... if this girl’s father is Zou Huai De, then she is my daughter."
Yu Jiang quickly asked his colleagues to check.
After about ten minutes, his colleague ran over: "I called a contact to get records from Jingcheng University, they’ll be sent over soon."
Then they waited for about twenty more minutes, the colleague found the records sent from Jingcheng University in his email.
It was a photograph in the record, featuring Anning’s information.
There was a photo of Anning and her detailed information such as birth date, educational institutions she attended, and so on.
Wang Min went to do a comparison, the photo in the records was almost identical to Anning who was sitting there.
She gasped: "Aunt Sheng, how do you maintain your face like this?"
Yu Jiang coughed: "Auntie, could you tell us the details?"
Anning nodded: "Sure."
She recounted in detail how Zou Huai De tricked her to go out, and how he pushed her off a mountain, after speaking, Anning said sternly: "I know so much time has passed, even if I report it now, it’s too late to hold him legally responsible. I’m not here to file a case, but to discuss something even more important."
"What’s the matter?"
Wang Min asked urgently.
Anning pointed at her own face: "Look, after more than twenty years, I still look exactly as I did when I was young, without a hint of aging. Don’t you want to know the reason behind this?"
All the police in the room stared at Anning.
Wang Min, young and most eager, asked, "Did you get the immortal elixir?"
Anning laughed out loud, "No, that’s not it. I’ve had some strange encounters. I was wondering if I could speak privately with your chief."
Yu Jiang stood up to make a phone call.
After a while, he said to Anning, "Come with me."
Yu Jiang led Anning to the chief’s office. As they walked, he asked, "Auntie, do you know what Zou Jingjing has gone through these years? Her situation is not good..."
Anning shook her head: "I don’t know. I came here right after I left that place."
Yu Jiang sighed, "If possible, please keep an eye on her."
"Alright."
Anning responded.
They soon reached the chief’s office. Anning knocked on the door and, after hearing someone speak, pushed the door and went in.
As she opened the door, she immediately saw a middle-aged man who was excitedly looking at her.
Anning blinked, it was indeed a coincidence to run into someone she knew.
Back when Anning was enrolled at Jing University, she tutored someone in her freshman year.
The Sheng family had many inheritances, but Anning wouldn’t sell these items. She needed money to maintain those antiques and for everyday expenses as well, all of which required her to earn money.
Apart from occasionally helping others with antique restoration, Anning also took on other jobs.
Since she was new to Capital at her freshman year, and unfamiliar with the area, she couldn’t find any antique restoration work, so she tutored for a while.
The middle-aged man in front of her, Song Pengfei, was one of her students.
Back then, Anning was an eighteen-year-old girl, and Song Pengfei was a senior high school student struggling with poor grades, which troubled his parents.
Anning thought of many methods to help improve his grades as his tutor, and through six months of efforts, Song Pengfei’s grades improved significantly, allowing him to be admitted to a police academy.
However, later on, Anning became busy with her studies and work and didn’t have much contact with Song Pengfei.
As Anning looked at Song Pengfei, he too was watching her.
He rose from behind his desk, his eyes slightly reddened as he looked at Anning, "Sister Sheng, you..."
Anning smiled and waved her hand, "I’m fine, let’s sit down and talk."
Song Pengfei turned around to wipe his tears, and when he sat down again, he composed himself back into a stable public servant.
"When the news of your disappearance came through, I had just graduated not long ago and had just joined the public security system. I once asked Zou Huai De what exactly happened. He kept saying you ran away with someone, but I never believed it. However, I also couldn’t find evidence to prove that someone harmed you."
Song Pengfei thought back many years, filled with sentiment, "I thought I would never see you again in this lifetime. I didn’t expect to reunite with an old friend after so many years."
"I didn’t elope. Zou Huai De cheated and, fearing I would make a fuss and affect his reputation, took me to a mountain to be killed secretly. Fortunately, I was lucky and didn’t die completely."
As Anning mentioned Zou Huai De, her eyes flashed with a hint of hatred: "However, I’m not here to bring up old matters today. I..."
She explained how she ended up on a stone platform, then how she fell and couldn’t move, surviving only by drinking rainwater and eating wild fruits brought by mountain monkeys. She also described how she eventually crawled into a cave and mistakenly entered an Array.
"That Array was very peculiar; once inside, there was no way out. It took me twenty years to find a way to escape. Once I did, I immediately came here; I want to share my discovery through you to the nation, as the Array contained smaller Arrays, which should be quite important to the country."
Anning also detailed the functions of the smaller Arrays.
Song Pengfei, overwhelmed with excitement, asked, "Sister Sheng, is all that you said true?"
Anning took out two bottles from her bag: "These are the Elixirs I found in the Array. One enhances physical condition, and the other is for intelligence improvement. There were only two of each type in the Array; I have taken two myself, and these are the remaining two. You can have them tested."
