Chapter 1122 - 1096: After Being Possessed 6
Si Linna also cried.
She lay on the bed like how Anning used to as a child and reached out to hold Anning in her arms: "Ningning, tell your sister-in-law what’s really going on?"
Anning wiped her tears and told Si Linna everything that had happened during this time.
"That day, it was the first time I came to my senses. I didn’t know when she would take over my body again, so I quickly called you and recorded a video on the computer. Just after I finished recording and cleared the traces, I felt her fighting with me for the body again. I was afraid she would hurt you after you arrived, so I left home. Did you watch the video I recorded?"
Si Linna nodded: "I did. I deleted the video from the computer; it’s now on my phone. I showed it to Mom."
Anning was pleasantly surprised: "What did Mom say? She will work with you to find a way to save me, right?"
Si Linna fell silent.
Anning said anxiously: "Sister-in-law, please tell me. Don’t hide it from me. I... don’t know when you will see someone who is not me again."
Si Linna no longer hid it from Anning and told her about Mrs. Yan’s reaction.
The light in Anning’s eyes gradually dimmed, which made Si Linna feel great pity for her.
"I see, they are always like that, acting in their own interests. As long as it suits them, they’d recognize a ghost as their own daughter. Aren’t they afraid... afraid that the alien soul will harm them in the future?"
Si Linna said nothing more.
Anning murmured to herself: "I understand now; only my sister-in-law truly cares about me."
She hugged Si Linna again: "Sister-in-law, if one day I say something that hurts you or do something that makes you sad, you need to know it definitely wasn’t me. I would never hurt you, not for anyone."
"I know, my Ningning would never hurt me, no matter the circumstance."
Si Linna smiled and patted Anning’s back: "Alright, you should go to sleep now."
Anning shook her head: "I’m not sleeping. It took me so long just to wake up; how can I waste time?"
She got up and led Si Linna into the dressing room, finding the bag she had hidden: "Sister-in-law, here are the jewelry I organized, the title to the house I bought, and some stock transfer documents. You hold on to them."
Si Linna didn’t refuse; she took everything.
Anning added: "I’ll transfer the money from my bank account to you, sister-in-law."
Si Linna nodded: "I’ll set up another account to deposit your money. If you manage to drive out that alien soul one day, I will return the money to you."
Anning beamed brightly: "Alright, if by any chance I can’t return, sister-in-law, keep it to yourself and use the money."
She leaned closer to Si Linna: "I know you must have saved some money too. If possible, get Brother Shi Ye to transfer the house back at the old home to you. Remember this, sister-in-law."
After saying that, Anning urged Si Linna: "Hurry up and go; she is coming."
Si Linna quickly picked up the bag and left.
When she got back to her room, her phone pinged. Si Linna took out her phone to check; it was a message from the bank. It was a record of the transfer Anning made to her.
Si Linna deleted that text message and then placed the bag Anning gave her into her own safe.
After handling everything, as she sat down again, she felt utterly exhausted, with her heart pounding rapidly.
Anning waited until just before dawn to release the alien soul.
After the alien soul woke up, it picked up the phone and called Li Hai.
Li Hai wasn’t awake yet, still groggy with sleep, instinctively grabbing the phone without checking who it was.
"Brother Li."
Hearing the alien soul’s voice, Li Hai shivered and woke up completely.
"Damn, don’t call me that. It gives me the creeps."
"Brother Li, how can you say that?"
The alien soul spoke in a pinched voice, sounding sweet and coy, but to Li Hai, it felt like the voice of death itself: "Why can’t I say that? Anning, we broke up last night."
"What?"
The alien soul exclaimed: "Broke up? Impossible. I don’t remember breaking up. Li Hai, how could you do this to me? I was so devoted to you, and you..."
"Hold on a minute."
Li Hai sat up from the bed, ruffled his hair, and said irritably: "Come on, girl, don’t play this game with me. My buddies were all there when we broke up last night. I can gather a truckload of witnesses. What, you don’t want to admit it? I’m not a pushover, and I’m not some lapdog to come and go at your beck and call."
The alien soul felt wronged and said in a tearful voice: "I don’t care; I didn’t want to break up. I even said I would visit your house in a few days. You can’t do this. When you were pursuing me, you said such sweet words. Now, such a short time later, you’ve changed your mind. No, if you do this, I’ll go to your company and hang myself at your doorstep."
Li Hai was terrified.
He thought about the many unusual aspects of Anning’s behavior.
By day, she seemed so docile, obeying his every wish, but by night, she was like a different person, hitting and cursing him. And... she’s freaking crazy.
Afraid that Anning might actually go crazy and hang herself at his door, Li Hai quickly said: "Okay, okay, let’s talk this out. Don’t do anything rash. When do you plan to come to my house? I need to prepare. Or, maybe wait a bit longer so I can inform my parents and have them prepare as well."
Hearing Li Hai’s more relaxed tone, the alien soul chuckled: "Alright, I’ll listen to Brother Li."
Li Hai shuddered again.
After hanging up, Li Hai quickly got out of bed.
He changed clothes, grabbed his phone, and made a call while heading out.
"Chaozi, don’t you have a classmate who studies psychology? Didn’t you say he was setting up a clinic? Can you arrange a meeting for me? I need to see him right now..."
By the time Li Hai got into the car, He Yingchao called back, saying he had already arranged for a meeting with Zhou Peng.
Li Hai drove to meet Zhou Peng.
He met the psychologist at Zhou Peng’s newly opened clinic.
Zhou Peng was a somewhat plump man with a kind smile, giving off the vibe that he was well-suited for business, as he naturally exuded friendly and prosperous energy.
Such individuals are easy to approach, easily lowering others’ defenses.
Li Hai was no exception.
After some casual chatter, he shared his troubles with Zhou Peng.
He recounted how he had pursued Anning without success, and how suddenly Anning accepted his advances, and all the recent peculiar events, leaving nothing out.
Zhou Peng pondered for a moment: "Young Master Li, if I’m not mistaken, the Miss Yan you’re referring to may have developed a second personality, which we commonly refer to as a split personality disorder."
Li Hai was taken aback: "No way."
Zhou Peng nodded: "Based on what you’ve described, it seems that way. The two personalities of Miss Yan seem independent, with no memories of each other. The one you’re in a relationship with is likely the secondary personality, while her primary personality is the one who hit you and embarrassed you in front of your friends."
