Chapter 617 - 119: Can You Tie a Tie? Help Me Tie Mine

Chapter 617 - 119: Can You Tie a Tie? Help Me Tie Mine

The butler and maids inside the mansion would never dare to knock on the door early in the morning to disturb someone’s peaceful dreams, so the only person Lu Jingchen could think of was that woman, Jian Xia.

Sure enough, when he opened the door with a gloomy face, clearly in a very bad mood, the first thing he saw was Jian Xia, who was already dressed in casual clothes with her hair tied up high, obviously already well-prepared.

As the door opened, Jian Xia saw Lu Jingchen standing in front of her and immediately smiled, but just as she was about to speak, she was frightened by the man’s extremely dark expression and couldn’t help but take a step back, swallowing saliva subconsciously.

"Jian Xia, if you can’t give me a reason that satisfies me for why you’re knocking on my bedroom door this early in the morning, then wait for me to have you packed up and sent to Bo Leshen."

Jian Xia, "..." That’s no way to threaten someone.

After a somewhat awkward smile, Jian Xia gathered her thoughts and cautiously began, "Actually, it’s nothing; I was just thinking of personally cooking breakfast for you this morning as a thank you for all you did for me last night, even letting me stay. I wanted to ask what you and your wife would like to eat..."

"We have a maid, there’s no need for you, Miss High and Mighty, to lower yourself to cook!" Lu Jingchen’s tone already carried displeasure and darkness, as if the woman in front of him had committed some unforgivable misdeed.

With a ’bang’, the door was closed in her face again.

Jian Xia, "..." Lu Jingchen looks really scary. Can it be that this man has a severe case of getting up on the wrong side of the bed? But she distinctly remembered that this was precisely the time he usually wakes up, she had timed her visit to knock on the door so he shouldn’t be in a bad mood due to waking up.

What Jian Xia didn’t know was that Lu Jingchen’s displeasure wasn’t because she had disturbed his own sleep, but because she had disturbed Song Qiao’s sleep.

...

Song Qiao woke up for the second time still due to a commotion; to be precise, she was woken by a forced kiss from a man.

For a moment, Song Qiao felt as if all her breath had been snatched away; she even started to struggle to breathe. In her sleep, she involuntarily furrowed her brows and pushed at the man’s chest without any awareness.

"Qiaoqiao, wake up, hmm? Otherwise, you’ll be late for work," the man released her lips, hugging her with his entire body, one arm propping beside her, the other hand pinching her chin, his tone whispering with a seductive allure as if coated with a slight tenderness.

Upon hearing the words ’you’ll be late for work’, all sleepiness was chased away from Song Qiao in an instant, as she opened her eyes in a haze, only to crash straight into the man’s eyes which held a hint of amusement.

"Lu Jingchen, what are you... mmh..." As soon as Song Qiao began to speak, she was immediately silenced by the man pressing down on her chin and forcefully kissing her.

Completely pinned down by him, it was at this moment that she realized their positions were completely male-on-top, and her heart couldn’t help but flutter, despising yet unable to escape from his domineering kissing technique.

However, this time, Lu Jingchen truly only intended to kiss her and had no thoughts of doing anything else early in the morning.

When he finally let her go, her face was already flushed, and her breathing had become somewhat unstable.

After brushing her long hair behind her ears, Lu Jingchen kissed her face again and then slowly let go, his tone laced with a light chuckle, "Do you still want to keep sleeping now?"

The man’s voice was low and pleasant to hear, yet Song Qiao could discern a hint of a threatening undertone.

Song Qiao shook her head, her voice striving to be composed, "No need, get up first, I need to wash up."

"Alright, I’ll go change. After breakfast, I’ll take you to the office, okay?" He didn’t continue to trouble her, instead getting up off the bed and standing on the floor.

Song Qiao didn’t refuse, murmuring a response, then slowly climbed out of bed, straightened her somewhat disheveled hair, and couldn’t help but mumble in her mind, not understanding how this man could kiss her when she hadn’t even brushed her teeth or washed her face yet.

Lu Jingchen turned and took his clothes from the wardrobe and went into the bathroom to change.

Song Qiao sat on the bed for several seconds, then got up to make the bed and was just about to take her clothes to change when the man had already changed, looking at her from the wardrobe and spoke lightly, "Help me choose a tie."

Her hand paused as she was about to take her clothes, glancing at the man who had come out of the bathroom and was now standing in the room, then walked over to where the ties were kept, opened the drawer and was dazzled by the array of dozens of colors, close to a hundred ties, and turned to ask, "What color tie do you need?"

As an agent, even though she had knowledge in this area, she still felt that her taste might differ from Lu Jingchen’s.

Lu Jingchen, buttoning his shirt, paused and turned his head to look at Song Qiao, noticing that she was staring at him, her expression neutral, almost still a bit unhappy.

The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice deep, "Choose one yourself, I trust your judgment."

Song Qiao, "..." Mr. Lu, you’re putting too much faith in me.

With reluctance and gritting her teeth, Song Qiao still began to sift through the multitude of ties and after a while, she took out a gray tie.

Approaching Lu Jingchen, Song Qiao was about to hand him the tie to knot himself when she heard him asking, "Do you know how to tie a tie?"

Startled, Song Qiao looked up at him and met his deep, unfathomable eyes; she subconsciously nodded, "A little."

Previously, when Qin Zhe and An Ke were filming on location, she had helped Qin Zhe with his tie. Although it was her first time tying one for a man, her technique was still fairly good, but she couldn’t say she was completely proficient.

"You do it for me," Lu Jingchen commanded without giving her a chance to hesitate.

Song Qiao frowned slightly, not moving immediately but speaking with some hesitation, "But... my skills are not that great."

"No problem, I trust you." Looking down at her indecisive face, Lu Jingchen reached out to ruffle her hair gently, "Besides, as Mrs. Lu, helping me tie my tie every morning will be one of your daily tasks from now on."

To that statement from Lu Jingchen... she found no reason to argue.

Helplessly, Song Qiao complied with his request, looking up at the man who towered a whole head above her, "Could you bend down a bit? You’re too tall."

It’s exhausting reaching up on tiptoe, and since he wants her to help with his tie, it’s only fair for him to bend down.

The man chuckled, but still bent down, watching the woman who still had to stand on her toes even when he bent over, he couldn’t resist ruffling her hair again and gave her a nickname, "Who told you not to grow taller? Shorty?"

Song Qiao straightened Lu Jingchen’s collar then placed the tie around it. As she thought back to the steps of tying a tie, his words made her pause, and she glared at him, discontentedly retorting, "Are you complaining that I’m short now?"

It’s clearly because this man is too tall — her own height is one meter sixty-seven, which is quite tall among women.

All along, she thought her height was just right, but now this man dared to call her shorty.

Really... enough already.

Despite some clumsiness, Song Qiao still managed to tie the tie for Lu Jingchen.

Looking at the tie she had knotted, Song Qiao finally revealed a smile, "Done."

"Hmm, not bad, but you’ll need to practice more," Lu Jingchen commented, glancing down. It was indeed well done, but he wasn’t going to outright compliment her. Praising too much wasn’t good; it could lead to pride.

Knowing this man would never say sweet nothings, Song Qiao didn’t take it to heart but still obediently said, "I understand, next time I’ll practice on a few more men."

Lu Jingchen, "..."

His expression darkened in an instant.

Practice on a few more men?

When he looked up at Song Qiao again, the little lady had already darted into the bathroom, even locking the door behind her.

...

When Song Qiao came downstairs after washing up and changing her clothes, she found the atmosphere in the living room a bit peculiar.

It was only when she looked around that she realized it wasn’t just Jian Xia whom Lu Jingchen had brought home last night; there was also another man she didn’t recognize.

As Song Qiao stepped off the last stair, she looked curiously at the unfamiliar man sitting on the sofa with a somewhat unpleasant expression. Just as she wondered who he was, Jian Xia already turned to her with a smile, albeit a pale one, "You’re up? Are you Jingchen’s wife? You are so beautiful."

All her life, Song Qiao had been generously complimented, but for some reason, she felt somewhat embarrassed when praised by Jian Xia, probably because Jian Xia herself was quite attractive.

With a slight smile, she glanced at the man sitting not far away, noting that his expression had darkened even further. She then diverted her gaze back to Jian Xia and shyly said, "You’re very beautiful too."

"Madam, you’re up," greeted Chen Ma, the moment she saw Song Qiao come down, smiling warmly, "Miss Jian just cooked some breakfast, and Sir is in the kitchen warming up milk for you."

Song Qiao responded with an "Oh," realizing why she hadn’t seen Lu Jingchen downstairs.

Turning her gaze to Jian Xia, her smile grew deeper, "You made breakfast?"

Jian Xia nodded, never looking at Bo Leshen, stood up from the sofa, and with a touch of embarrassment scratched her long hair, "I haven’t cooked in a long time, not sure if my cooking skills are still as good. I didn’t know what you liked, so I just made something simple."
