Chapter 1078 - 465: The Overwhelmed Secretary
Chapter 1078 - 465: The Overwhelmed Secretary
Song Qiao looked up from her phone at the secretary in front of her and nodded, "Hello."
Then she lifted her foot and walked toward Lu Jingchen’s office. But after a few steps, she stopped, retraced her steps back to the secretary.
The secretary was about to take some documents to be copied. Seeing Song Qiao return, she quickly straightened her back, looking extremely nervous, and politely asked, "Madam President, is there anything I can help you with?"
Song Qiao looked at the secretary with amusement and said warmly, "Well... I just wanted to ask you something, you don’t have to be nervous. Your nervousness makes me embarrassed to ask."
She clearly had such a good-natured face, why did it seem like everyone else except Lu Jingchen and Assistant Xue were afraid of her?
How could the secretary not be nervous? After all, Song Qiao held the power over the thousands of employees in the entire company.
If Song Qiao was unhappy, their president would be unhappy too, and when the president was unhappy, the employees would suffer and get into trouble.
If Song Qiao managed to cheer up the president, their days would be much happier.
In everyone’s eyes now, Song Qiao had already attained the status of an ancestor.
Trying to make her expression look more natural and less stiff, the secretary forced a smile, "Madam President, is there anything I can help you with?"
Seeing the secretary’s smile uglier than crying, Song Qiao felt a bit helpless and didn’t make things difficult for her, patting her on the shoulder, "It’s nothing, you just do your work well."
With that, she walked away.
After Song Qiao left, the secretary felt her entire body go limp, and she quickly grabbed the adjacent wall.
Oh my God... being with the president’s wife really takes courage.
...
In the office, Lu Jingchen’s desk was piled with documents, all needing his review and signature.
Since Lu Jingchen was in a bad mood yesterday, many departments didn’t dare to send up their documents. Today that he was in a better mood, everyone hurried to organize the documents needing his signature and brought them up.
They knew that when the president was in a good mood, even if there were mistakes, he wouldn’t scold them.
Song Qiao stood at the door and knocked, not directly entering.
Lu Jingchen thought it was Assistant Xue or the secretary and, without raising his head, simply said, "Come in."
The office door opened, high heels clicked rhythmically on the floor, not piercing but rather pleasant to the ear.
The floor was cleaned so thoroughly it could almost be used as a mirror. By lowering her head, Song Qiao could faintly see her reflection.
Seeing the man diligently working on the documents, Song Qiao was about to speak when Lu Jingchen said, "Go make me a cup of coffee."
Song Qiao stopped in her tracks, realizing Lu Jingchen hadn’t looked up at her the whole time and probably mistook her for the secretary. Thinking this, she quietly turned and left the office.
After the office door closed once more, Lu Jingchen suddenly smelled an incredibly pleasant and familiar fragrance, prompting him to look up, but he saw no one.
He felt puzzled; was he missing Song Qiao too much?
The graceful image of Song Qiao appeared in his mind—her every smile, even her angry pouts. The man, wearing no expression earlier, finally relaxed and smiled gently.
Now, he wondered what that little woman was up to.
Meanwhile, the little woman Lu Jingchen was thinking about had walked into the break room.
In the break room, a secretary was drinking water, probably exhausted from work. Her face showed signs of fatigue as she leaned against the wall taking small sips.
When Song Qiao entered, the secretary, seeing who it was, almost dropped her cup in shock, hurriedly standing at attention, and nervously greeted, "Madam President..."
Song Qiao glanced at her, gave a friendly smile, and waved, "No need to be nervous, I just came to warm a cup of milk. You can pretend I’m not here."
The secretary’s face immediately fell into a grimace. How could she pretend the president’s wife wasn’t there?
Back when she had just married Lu Jingchen, Song Qiao often visited the break room while waiting for him in the office. Since then, CK Group had undergone renovations, making the break room larger and better equipped with juicers, soy milk machines, coffee machines, hot water dispensers, teapots, and even a microwave and refrigerator.
Opening the fridge and finding no milk, she turned to the secretary and asked, "I’d like to warm a glass of milk, can you tell me where the milk is stored?"
Song Qiao’s polite and gentle voice made the secretary feel overwhelmed.
She quickly set down her cup, walked over, opened the nearby cupboard, found a box of milk, and handed it to Song Qiao, "The milk was probably finished in the morning, and no one took out a new one to put in the fridge. This is new..."
Song Qiao took the milk and politely said, "Thank you."
The secretary quickly waved her hands, "No need to thank me, it’s my duty."
Song Qiao found a glass, washed it, dried it, poured the milk into a special cup for warming, heated it in the microwave, and then poured it into the glass.
After handing Song Qiao the milk, the secretary stood by. When Song Qiao finished and was about to wash the cup, the secretary rushed forward, "Ma’am, let me wash the cup since I need to wash my own too."
Song Qiao looked at the secretary and didn’t refuse, "Thank you."
After Song Qiao left the break room, the secretary breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly pulled out her phone, emotionally writing in the work group chat, "I just ran into the president’s wife in the break room. She came to warm milk for the president and actually thanked and appreciated me!"
