Chapter 906: The Grant Parents Pay a Visit
When Summer Monroe smiles, her eyes seem to hide a thousand lights.
Attorney Chambers was initially full of worry, but seeing that confident smile, he couldn’t help but trust Summer a bit more.
The person Young Master Knight cares about must not be ordinary; he can’t evaluate Summer by the standards of ordinary people.
Attorney Chambers straightened his back and said, "Miss Monroe, if there’s anything you need help with, feel free to contact me at any time."
"I know. I won’t hesitate. Well... I’ll be off then."
"Where are you going?"
"Back to school."
"Going back to school on a Saturday?" Attorney Chambers looked at Summer with admiration: "I didn’t expect that even after graduating from Britton University, you would still use weekends to study at school. Truly, learning never ends. I won’t disturb you then; I’ll also go learn more about law."
"Ha ha." Summer’s smile was a bit stiff.
She’s not going back to school to study.
However, Summer didn’t explain much to Attorney Chambers. After seeing him off, she also set off for the archives room at Crestfall University.
She wants to take advantage of these two weekend days to quickly go through all the materials in the archives room.
She has a lot to do and can’t afford to stand still on this matter.
...
Simultaneously.
Willow Grant brought her parents to the entrance of Knight Manor.
Susan Stone, upon receiving the news, nearly choked on her coffee.
She put down her coffee cup, widened her eyes, and asked the butler, "Who did you say came?"
"Miss Grant came with Mrs. Grant and Mr. Grant."
Susan Stone immediately forgot about drinking coffee, stood up, and said, "Quick, tell them I’m not home."
She was about to head upstairs when she heard Willow Grant’s voice outside the villa’s door.
"Mrs. Stone."
Susan Stone paused her steps and glared at the butler.
The butler, looking embarrassed, said, "I thought you would definitely want to see Miss Grant, so I let the security at the gate allow them inside."
"You’re such a fool!" Susan Stone cursed, just in time to see Willow Grant bringing those two from the Grant Family inside.
She quickly restrained her true emotions and greeted them with a full smile.
"Willow, why didn’t you let me know you were coming beforehand? Then I could have had the servants prepare the lunch you like." She spoke and nodded towards Willow’s parents, saying: "Coming from Rivain must be tiring, right?"
Mr. Grant said with a frosty face, "No matter how tired the two of us are, Willow is still more emotionally drained!"
Susan Stone’s smile stiffened; Mrs. Grant nudged Mr. Grant, then smiled at Susan, saying, "Susan, don’t listen to my old man’s words. It’s been hot lately, and he has a bad temper. Plus, he heard that Willow was wronged in Crestfall, so he’s full of anger, not directed at you."
Susan Stone’s smile was stiff.
If Mrs. Grant shared Mr. Grant’s attitude, she could use the bad demeanor of both to ask them to leave.
However, these two were playing good cop-bad cop, leaving her without an excuse to chase them away.
She chuckled dryly, "No worries, who doesn’t have those moments? It’s just about lunch time now; have you eaten yet? If you’re not particular, stay and have lunch with us."
"Then we’ll trouble you," Mrs. Grant maintained a smug yet gentle smile, leaving Susan Stone at a loss.
The four quickly settled at the dining table.
Mrs. Grant spoke again, "Seeing Willow looking so worn down after we got here really breaks our hearts. Susan, we entrusted her to you back then, and you said you’d take good care of her for us. But why is the child still being wronged?"
