The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day

Chapter 261: Did You Kill Her?

Chapter 261: Did You Kill Her?

Leah said, paused, then continued, "That servant is not Madam’s person; she hasn’t been here long. Today, while mopping the second-floor hallway, she noticed some sort of red liquid at Miss Stanton’s room entrance. She immediately called me over. I was on the second floor at the time, and it was the bodyguard who opened the door. As soon as it opened... we were shocked, and then you arrived."

Summer nodded and asked, "After I returned to my room last night, did anything happen?"

Leah thought for a moment, then shook her head and said, "No, nothing happened last night. But Miss Stanton didn’t have dinner, though I heard some noise, her spirits seemed fine; she even asked us for scarless medicine, not like someone intending to commit suicide."

Hearing this, Summer was more convinced that Clarissa Stanton couldn’t have committed suicide by cutting her wrists.

Someone who’s worried about leaving a scar couldn’t possibly be thinking of dying?

Summer nodded and said, "I understand. You can go now. Report to me anytime if there’s any situation."

Leah started to head out, but then she remembered Stella Monroe’s matter and turned back anxiously, saying, "Miss, with Miss Stanton’s death, when Madam returns, she will definitely suspect you... you must be careful."

In Leah’s eyes, Summer was very smart, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be harmed by Stella.

Especially a mother who has lost her daughter; she could do anything.

Leah knew this mindset all too well; she’d done many undue things for Stella Monroe for her child’s sake.

The worry in Leah’s eyes was genuine, a sentiment that couldn’t be faked. Summer sensed Leah’s sincerity.

She curved her lips in a smile and said, "I know, I’ll be wary of her. Thank you for the reminder."

"No, no, I should thank you instead. If it weren’t for you, my child..." Leah choked up a little.

Summer offered a reassuring smile and said, "You work for me, so your matter is naturally my matter. Don’t worry, nothing will happen to me. I’m also waiting to see you reunite with your child."

"Mm!" Leah wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes and turned to leave.

Summer sat quietly in her room for a while, pondering the issue of Clarissa Stanton. With the detail about the ’scarless medicine’ Leah mentioned, she was completely sure Clarissa Stanton did not commit suicide.

She was just thinking about who could be the murderer, creating the illusion of Clarissa’s suicide without anyone noticing.

What advantage would this bring to them?

There must be a motive for murder. What could their motive be? She didn’t know of any significant enemies Clarissa Stanton might have.

Given Clarissa Stanton’s personality, at most, she’d have minor grudges, nothing serious enough to lead to murder.

Just as Summer couldn’t find any clues, her computer suddenly emitted a ’ding’ sound and turned on automatically.

This seemed particularly eerie in the originally silent room.

Summer stood up immediately.

But she didn’t think it was a ghost like most girls might; instead, she frowned and approached the computer.

The computer was one she’d installed after returning to Henry Stanton’s; it was a new computer, so it shouldn’t be automatically turning on unless... someone hacked it!

Sure enough, just as Summer suspected, when the computer booted up, it didn’t go to the usual desktop screen but turned into a dark red color.

Summer coldly spoke, "Who are you?"

Soon, a line of black text appeared on the dark red screen, written in English: "Miss Monroe, do you like the gift I sent you?"

Summer quickly connected it to Clarissa Stanton’s incident, frowning as she asked, "Did you kill Clarissa Stanton?"
