The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day

Chapter 255: Forgiveness

Chapter 255: Forgiveness

Summer hurriedly quickened her pace and walked in.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t bear to watch Clarissa Stanton get beaten, but the harder she got beaten now, the guiltier Henry Stanton would feel towards her later.

And that wasn’t a good thing.

Summer stepped into the hall.

She saw Henry Stanton holding a belt, lashing it down hard on Clarissa Stanton’s back.

Clarissa Stanton was already covered in blood, looking quite terrifying.

"Dad!" Summer strode over and stopped Henry Stanton’s hand before the belt could strike again.

Henry Stanton saw her, and his gaze softened slightly, but he was still fuming.

"Sadie, don’t stop me, you don’t know what this damned girl did! She almost made Evan Hughes die of anger!"

Summer did not let go and glanced at Clarissa Stanton, explaining, "Dad, I just got back from the Hughes Family, and I understand the situation. Please listen to me, this really isn’t much related to Clarissa."

Only then did Henry Stanton slowly draw back his hand, frowning as he asked, "What exactly happened?"

Summer briefly recounted the incident and finally said, "In short, Coralie Hughes wanted to frame Clarissa. This really isn’t much related to Clarissa, so Dad, please don’t hit her again."

Henry Stanton was immediately stunned.

Meanwhile, the prone Clarissa Stanton started crying even louder.

Clarissa Stanton wasn’t completely foolish. Seeing the situation explained, naturally, she had to milk her grievance in front of Henry Stanton.

Henry Stanton couldn’t help but show a look of guilt on his face. After all, she was his biological daughter, raised by him since childhood, and his feelings for her ran deeper than for Summer.

He guiltily crouched down to lift Clarissa Stanton himself, apologizing, "I’m sorry, Clarissa, it’s all my fault. I got impatient and lost control. You should have told me earlier."

Clarissa secretly thought she’d been explaining for ages, but outwardly, she shook her head pitifully and said, "It’s okay, Dad, you just didn’t know the situation. But after coming back from the temple, I’ve really reflected a lot. I promise I won’t do anything to make you and my sister angry again. It was all my fault before, please forgive me."

Seeing Clarissa Stanton being so understanding, Henry Stanton felt even more guilty.

He carefully helped Clarissa Stanton up and then instructed the butler, "Call the private doctor to have a good look at Miss Clarissa’s wounds."

"Yes!" The butler turned to leave.

Just then, Summer spoke up, "Wait!"

The butler stiffened, nervously turning to look at Summer and asked, "Miss Sadie, is there anything else? I need to call the doctor for Miss Clarissa now..."

Clarissa Stanton saw Summer stopping the butler, and her eyes narrowed, assuming Summer wanted to leave scars on her.

Indeed, Summer was still that malicious country girl!

She immediately put on a pitiful face, grabbed Henry Stanton, and said, "Dad, why is my sister stopping the butler from calling the doctor? Does she still refuse to forgive me? I’ve clearly admitted my mistakes..."

Henry Stanton saw Clarissa Stanton’s tearful eyes, turned to Summer with dissatisfaction, and said coldly, "Sadie, your sister has already apologized and assured she won’t do it again. Why won’t you forgive her? Can’t you be more generous as a sister?"

Summer sneered coldly in her heart.

Now they’re calling her ungenerous?
