Chapter 158: Denying Affection
Chapter 158: Denying Affection
Isaac Ross was taken aback and quickly asked, "Did you locate them? But didn’t you fail to invade the terminal?"
Summer Monroe’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as she said, "Although I didn’t fully invade the terminal, they set up so many virtual points that when I found the correct terminal, I tracked them in the process. The last terminal is on an island off the West Coast. I can roughly identify the location and send it to you."
Isaac Ross felt a rush of excitement and, overwhelmed, could only say, "Amazing, Miss Monroe, you’re amazing!"
Damian Knight remained silent, but his gaze towards Summer Monroe deepened.
Summer Monroe did not find it amazing; it was merely a coincidence for her.
She said coldly, "They destroyed the building. Please help me catch that guy."
"Don’t worry! Leave it to me! As for the building, the Ross Family will fund the reconstruction for you!"
Summer Monroe’s gaze turned dim.
This building was her mother’s pride. Even if rebuilt, it wouldn’t be the same anymore, and the secret compartment—she’d never have the chance to see it again.
Just then, a wailing voice echoed—
"The company! My company!!"
The three of them turned to look in the direction of the voice, only to see Henry Stanton collapsed on the ground, crying hysterically.
The sight was quite comical.
Isaac Ross glanced at Summer Monroe sympathetically and said, "This old man doesn’t care about your life or death. All he cares about is this building."
Summer Monroe showed no emotion.
Ever since she found out Henry Stanton wasn’t her biological father, she no longer had any genuine feelings for him.
Without sincere feelings, nothing Henry Stanton did could stir any waves in her heart.
"I’ll go over first; please keep this for me. I’ll come back for it when I get the chance."
Saying that, Summer Monroe handed the tightly held diary in her arms to Damian Knight.
Damian Knight knew how important it was to Summer Monroe, so he accepted it solemnly.
"Rest assured, I’ll keep it safe for you."
"Thank you."
Summer Monroe nodded slightly, then realized she seemed to have said thank you again, her expression slightly stiffening.
Damian Knight smiled helplessly and said, "If you can’t change, just let it be. Go on. After you calm him down, remember to take care of your wounds. Don’t forget you’re still a girl; scars aren’t good."
"Okay." Summer Monroe nodded, then walked over to Henry Stanton.
As soon as Summer Monroe left, Damian Knight turned to coolly glance at Isaac Ross and said, "Don’t say those things in front of her again; it’ll make her sad."
Isaac Ross wasn’t Ryder Quinn or Julian Kingston; he had brains. Combining what Damian Knight previously said to Summer Monroe about "dumplings," he quickly gazed at him and voiced the doubt in his heart, "Do you like her?"
To him, Summer Monroe was now a powerhouse.
An incredibly powerful powerhouse.
Damian Knight immediately denied, "I don’t like her."
"You don’t like her but treat her so well? Don’t think I can’t guess; you almost died in there just to help her get that notebook."
"That’s because she saved my life. If not for her today, everyone in that building would’ve died."
"Alright." Isaac Ross shrugged. "Then how do you explain what you said about dumplings? And why did you trust her over me when you were doing acupuncture in the hospital? And..."
"I told you, it’s because I owe her my life. And didn’t you see? She healed someone; I didn’t trust the wrong person."
"Alright, alright, you don’t like her. Fine, you don’t like her," Isaac Ross said, then suddenly looked nervously past Damian Knight. "She’s being hit by her dad!"
