The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day

Chapter 153: Not Dead!

Chapter 153: Not Dead!

Isaac Ross couldn’t bear to watch anymore, his legs gave out, and he knelt beside Summer Monroe with a pale face.

"It’s not your fault... it’s mine. Those guys deliberately blocked my way, but I should have ignored them and run straight over... From the beginning, I shouldn’t have brought that kid back from the beach... His death is all because of me!"

Isaac murmured, as if he was speaking to Summer, but also to himself.

He hammered the ground with his fist, and soon blood started seeping from the back of his hand.

Summer saw this and immediately grabbed Isaac’s hand, trying to stop him: "Are you crazy? If you keep hitting, your hand will be ruined!"

"Let go of me! If it’s ruined, then so be it. I’m the one who harmed him, I need to pay with my life!"

Summer refused to let go no matter what.

At that moment, the woman causing trouble earlier rushed over and slapped Summer hard on the face.

Summer was caught off guard, her face burning with pain.

However, the second slap followed quickly.

Summer instinctively tried to grab the woman’s hand, but a large hand acted first, firmly clamping down on the woman’s hand, and with a forceful twist, a "crack" sound was heard, followed by the woman’s scream of pain.

"Ahhhh— my hand! My hand is dislocated!"

Summer instinctively looked at the owner of that hand, and a face obscured by soot yet distinctly sharp came into view.

But even though the man’s face was covered in soot, those deep, endless black eyes, and the overwhelming aura he exuded made it impossible to look away.

"D-Damian Knight..." Summer spoke his name in disbelief.

Beside them, Isaac was overjoyed to the point of tears: "You kid, you kid, what a lad! Damn it! I knew you were tough as nails!"

Damian Knight cast a glance at the two, a faint smile in his eyes.

Summer’s tears started to flow again.

She immediately covered her mouth to stop herself from crying out loud.

He’s not dead! Damian Knight isn’t dead!

He kept his promise, he’s not a big liar!

Damian seemingly guessed what she was thinking, his thin lips curved up as he said, "Didn’t I promise you? Without your permission, my life won’t end here."

The hint of a smile in his eyes was mesmerizing, stirring one’s soul.

But the woman’s shrill voice broke the original atmosphere: "Give me back my son! You give me back my son! Why did you save everyone except my son? You return my son’s life to me!"

Summer looked at the woman, and even though her face and mouth showed indifference, her heart felt like it had been doused with cold water.

The feeling of being scolded despite doing a good deed was truly unpleasant.

Like a needle soaked in saline pricking the heart.

Not fatal, but painfully unbearable.

She bit her lip and slowly lowered her head.

Damian Knight’s eyes, which originally held a hint of laughter, were suddenly covered in ice and snow.

Along with it, his facial expression turned cold bit by bit.

He looked at the woman icily and said coldly, "Seems like I didn’t hit hard enough?"

"Kill me then! Kill me, I’ll seek you out for revenge in hell! It’s you who let my son die in there! You’ll die a horrible death!"

Damian lost all patience, reaching out to strangle the woman’s neck.

Suddenly, a child’s voice rang out, "Mom... stop yelling!"

The woman looked in shock towards where the voice came from, only to see her son emerging disheveled from behind a firefighter.

The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief, brightening with the rekindled hope in her eyes.

"Son!"
