Chapter 151: Damian Knight Is Dead?
Chapter 151: Damian Knight Is Dead?
After a flurry of orderly activity, Summer Monroe was given an oxygen mask, and the parts of her body that had been burned were given temporary treatment.
"The patient is severely dehydrated and has varying degrees of burns; she needs to be taken to the hospital immediately," the nurse said, instructing two hospital staff to move Summer onto the stretcher.
Summer felt intense noise in her ears; she frowned slightly and slowly opened her eyes.
What she saw was a sky full of white clouds and blue. She blinked twice to confirm she wasn’t dreaming.
She was out!
Summer hurriedly looked around; she was not far from the building outside. She quickly searched for any sign of Damian Knight but did not see him. Everyone, including herself, was evacuating.
Summer instantly sat up, grabbed someone at random and asked, "Why is everyone retreating?"
The person froze for a moment, then cheerfully spoke, "Miss, you’re awake? When I carried you out, I almost thought you had stopped breathing... Was it you who saved the children?"
Summer didn’t answer, instead jumping off the stretcher and anxiously asked, "Did you save me? After I came out, did my friend get out? He’s very tall, wearing a suit and shirt..."
The man asked in shock, "There are still people inside?! The building will collapse in a minute! It’s already leaning over..."
Summer’s heart raced, "You mean he hasn’t come out?!"
She grabbed the man’s collar and said, "Quick, get him out! He went to look for a child who got separated from us, he’s inside!"
As Summer spoke, tears involuntarily streamed down her face.
The filming crew, hearing this, asked in shock, "Is Young Master Knight still inside?"
"Hurry and save him! Inside is Damian Knight, the CEO of Knight Group!"
"If something happens to him, we’re all doomed!"
At this moment, an employee from the Stanton Group came running over, crying and grabbed Summer’s sleeve, questioning, "They say you brought the children out? Where’s my son? Why are everyone’s kids out except my son?"
Summer’s arm was injured; the woman’s tug caused a tearing pain.
Summer endured the pain and said, "Your son... might still be inside. He got scared by the explosion and got separated from us, but my friend has already gone to find him..."
The woman didn’t listen to the latter part, hysterically shaking Summer’s clothes.
"You owe me my son! Bring me my son!"
The assistant immediately protected Summer, loudly saying, "Auntie! Please be careful, Miss Sadie is injured!"
"I don’t care! The company is owned by them. If anything happens to my son, I won’t let you go!"
The woman glared venomously at Summer.
Finally, the fire captain couldn’t watch any longer and called over two team members to take the woman away.
The assistant, distressed, looked at Summer, holding her hand, saying, "Miss Sadie, you shouldn’t have kindly saved those children. Now that you didn’t bring out everyone, she’s blaming you—it’s completely unreasonable!"
The assistant felt it wasn’t worth it for Summer.
"You worked so hard to bring the children out; none of them even came to thank you, and now they’re scolding you! Is your arm injury okay?"
Summer shook her head lightly; in her distinctively beautiful eyes, there wasn’t a hint of regret.
She didn’t look at the woman who struggled and shouted, and said expressionlessly, "I saved those children not to receive gratitude from their parents. Even if I had to choose again, I would still save them."
