Chapter 415: Chapter 416: Dreaming of Father

"Why do you mother and daughter have such bad taste?"

"Sixth Master, one shouldn’t do bad things. See? Now you’re paying for it!" Sienna Johnson said with glee.

"What bad thing did I do?"

"Sixth Master, have you ever heard of the saying ’a woman adorns herself for the man she loves’?"

"Never heard of it!"

"Alright! Let me explain it to you, a man of Abyanabad. It means that women love to look pretty. Their faces are very important to them. But today, you made me walk around with an ugly face.

This is truly unforgivable!"

Sienna spoke earnestly, as if Adrian Desmond had committed some heinous crime.

In fact, he had just wiped her face and accidentally smeared it.

"Such a petty woman!"

"I am petty!"

Adrian walked over, scooped Sienna into his arms, and tossed her onto the bed. Sienna clung tightly to Adrian’s neck, reminding him, "Adrian, I’m pregnant! Be careful of your son!"

"I’ll show you petty!"

Adrian lifted her high, as if he were about to drop her, but in the end, he gently placed her on the bed. He found her most ticklish spot and began to tickle her.

"AAAH..."

"Do you still dare?... Speak!"

The two of them played on the bed for a while until Sienna was laughing so hard her stomach cramped. She cried out that her stomach hurt, and only then did Adrian relent.

"Do you still dare? Huh?" Adrian asked.

Sienna hooked her arm around his neck, pulled him down, and kissed him. His kisses trailed downwards, from her flushed lips to her fair neck. The woman beneath him softened; he had been holding back for too long...

Sienna had only intended to give him a goodnight kiss, but it unexpectedly ignited something more intense. He lifted her nightgown, and a large hand, calloused from years of work, slipped in from the hem, brazenly covering her...

"Sienna, I want you..." Adrian whispered in her ear, his voice rough.

"Adrian, I’m pregnant now!"

"I’m really pent up..."

Sienna hugged him and gently stroked his back. "Let me sing you a song, alright?"

"What song?"

"I’ll sing you a love song from Blackwood."

"Alright."

"Forsythia in bloom, fresh water celery,

Picked a branch and held it near my lips;

A refreshing scent fills my heart and soul,

Endless love surges like waves on the shore.

Long water celery, fragrant forsythia,

Full baskets, large and small, all gathered up;

But my lover’s ocean of love,

What can I use to hold the surging tide?"

Later, Adrian also sang a song in the Amwan language to Sienna. It was the first time Sienna had ever heard Adrian sing. His voice was deep, with a hint of hoarseness, but hearing it up close like this was a unique experience.

That night, Sienna fell asleep to Adrian’s singing.

When Adrian finished the love song, he looked down and saw Sienna was asleep. Her lips were still moist and tempting. He didn’t dare kiss them again, afraid of reigniting the fire within him. He gently touched Sienna’s face and whispered, "That song just now was a courting song from Abyanabad... Sienna, did you hear it?"

"..."

"Sienna, I’ll never let you leave me. I’ll never let you stop liking me... Especially now that I know how good it feels to be with you, how good it feels to love you... I love you... I even love it when you’re being unreasonable..."

Sienna slept soundly and naturally couldn’t respond to Adrian’s heartfelt words. Adrian chuckled to himself. Finally, he leaned close to Sienna’s ear, softly whispering her name, "Sienna..." Then, he gently moved her head onto his arm, letting her use it as a pillow.

Adrian gently held Sienna in his arms, letting her rest against his chest, and patted her softly, as if comforting a child.

He enjoyed this intimate sleeping position, feeling the comforting weight of her in his arms, his dreams filled with her image.

...

In the middle of the night, it suddenly began to rain. The window had been left open, and a cold wind swept in, raindrops pattering against the glass, creating a sound that disturbed one’s dreams.

Sienna "woke up."

"Adrian, it’s raining..." She habitually reached out to the side, but found that Adrian wasn’t there. "Adrian?" she called out, but Adrian didn’t respond.

"Sienna..." A familiar yet strange voice. Sienna followed the sound with her eyes and saw a man standing by the window. Startled, Sienna asked, "Who are you?"

Sienna thought she had encountered an intruder and reached for a vase on the table. The man slowly emerged from behind the curtains. Sienna clutched the vase tightly, her body on high alert.

"Sienna..."

"Dad..." Sienna looked at the man before her in astonishment. How could it be Dexter Johnson?

"Sienna!" He smiled at her. Sienna rubbed her sleepy eyes and stared at Adrian, finding it hard to distinguish between reality and dream.

"Dad, didn’t you already...?"

"Sienna..." He reached out to her, and Sienna instinctively stretched out her own hand. The vase in her hand rolled off, shattering with a CRACK.

The scene suddenly changed, and Sienna found herself standing in front of Dexter. He reached out to gently caress her face.

"Dad, you..." Sienna tried to hug Dexter, but she couldn’t touch his body.

"Sienna!"

"Dad, what did you come to me for?"

He just kept calling her name, his expression growing sorrowful... "Sienna..." His final call was laden with emotion, as deep and dark as the night. Then, Dexter turned into a pile of white bones before her, collapsing onto the wooden floor. Sienna stared at the pile of bones and suddenly screamed.

"Sienna, Sienna..."

Sienna broke out in a cold sweat, unable to tell who had called her name. "Sienna, are you having another nightmare? Wake up, quickly..."

Sienna was trapped in the nightmare, screaming in terror as if she had encountered something dreadful. Adrian kept shaking her, trying to wake her up. "Sienna! It’s alright, it’s just a dream. None of it is real..."

"..."

"Sienna, wake up!" he yelled at her. Sienna’s eyes flew open. She was drenched in sweat, panting heavily, her eyes still wide with horror.

"You had a nightmare!" Adrian held her in his arms, gently comforting her. "Don’t be afraid. It was all a dream; it wasn’t real."

Sienna came to her senses and hugged Adrian tightly, her body still trembling slightly. "Adrian, I dreamt about my dad."

"That’s what they call ’what you think about by day, you dream about by night.’ We visited your dad’s grave today, so it’s perfectly normal for you to dream about him."

Adrian’s heart ached for her. If he had known she would have a nightmare, he wouldn’t have let her go.

"But the dream was so strange... Dad was standing by the window, and then he suddenly turned into a pile of bones..." Sienna surreptitiously glanced up and pointed towards the window. It was indeed open, and rain was falling outside, exactly as in her dream. The only difference was that Adrian hadn’t been in the dream.
