Chapter 333: Chapter 334: The Curse at the Wedding
"After four years, you still haven’t won Adrian’s heart. Do you think this love is worth continuing?"
"Sienna Johnson! What do you know? You don’t really love Adrian! If you loved him as much as I do, you wouldn’t have just left four years ago!" Melanie Carpenter glared angrily at Sienna.
"I left four years ago because he chose you. I love him, but I love myself more. So, even though I left Adrian, I can still live a good life."
Melanie was silent.
"Melanie, you should learn to love yourself more. Only then will you find happiness."
Melanie has always blamed Sienna for stealing the love that belonged to her. But if Adrian truly loved her, Sienna would never have been able to take him away. She left for four years, and Melanie still hasn’t won Adrian’s heart. Yet, Melanie foolishly, pathetically blames it all on Sienna.
"Sienna Johnson, why don’t you just go die!"
Melanie suddenly swept all the wine glasses off the table. They shattered on the floor with a sharp, piercing crash.
Adrian, who had been on high alert, stepped forward and pulled Sienna into his arms. This sight further provoked Melanie.
"Sixth Brother, I hate you, I hate you..." The woman covered her face, tears streaming through her fingers.
Adrian said coldly, "Go back to Abyanabad!"
Melanie stopped crying. She looked up at the man holding Sienna. They had grown up together, they should have been the closest of all. But it was this man who had utterly ruined her. No, the one who had ruined her was that woman named Sienna Johnson.
"I won’t let you two get what you want!"
There was a tense silence.
"Adrian, you’ve broken your oath! You’ll go to hell!"
Adrian’s hands were stained with too much blood. He wasn’t afraid of going to hell. As long as he could hold Sienna tightly while he was alive, that was all that mattered.
"AH!" Someone screamed, having seen Melanie pull out a knife. Adrian, holding Sienna, retreated a step. Seeing that his daughter had also been safely taken away, he relaxed; Melanie couldn’t harm the people he cared about now.
"I curse you! I curse you with my blood! May you never find happiness!"
Everyone thought that Melanie hated Sienna so much she would use the knife to kill her. They never expected her to turn the blade on herself, stabbing it into her own heart.
"Adrian, when I see Father, I’ll tell him what an ungrateful villain you are! I’ll tell him everything you’ve done! You’ll face retribution! You will pay!"
Adrian saw the sharp knife embedded in Melanie’s chest. She had used so much force that half the blade was buried in her body. Her love for him had driven her to madness. Adrian didn’t know what to do with this unhinged woman.
"Melanie!" Adrian walked over and caught her swaying body. Melanie looked at the man she had been infatuated with her entire life and asked, her voice tinged with obsession, "Sixth Brother, if I die, will you finally love me then?"
"Why are you so foolish?"
"You want me to let go? If I let go, I’ll die... I’ve only ever loved you in my entire life. If you won’t let me love you, then I can only die!"
Adrian was speechless.
"Sixth Brother, I hate Sienna Johnson! We were supposed to be together! Why did she have to appear?"
Adrian remained silent.
"Sixth Brother, if it weren’t for Sienna, we would be so happy right now."
If it weren’t for Sienna, Adrian would have been like most men from Abyanabad: he would have married several wives, had several children, and experienced no soul-stirring love, only a placid, uneventful affection.
Melanie closed her eyes, her hand still tightly gripping Adrian’s clothes. She wouldn’t let go, not even in death. Sienna didn’t know what to say.
"Mom..." Devin Desmond was terrified, sitting there and crying incessantly.
The joyous wedding ended in bloodshed. Melanie had successfully ruined Sienna’s wedding.
"Call an ambulance, quickly!" Sienna ordered.
They were in a villa on the mountain, and it would take some time for an ambulance to arrive. Sienna went to Adrian’s side and said, "We’re too far from the hospital. You should carry her down the mountain and intercept the ambulance halfway. That might save precious time."
"Okay." Adrian picked up Melanie and strode out.
The wedding was forcibly interrupted.
Her expression unchanging, Sienna calmly addressed everyone, "Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize. There has been a slight accident, so the wedding will conclude here. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend. We have prepared small gifts for all our guests. Staff at the entrance will hand them out as you leave."
"This way, please..." The staff began to lead the guests out.
The guests had never expected to witness such a bloody incident at a wedding reception. A joyous wedding had been marred by a woman’s suicide attempt—an incredibly ominous turn of events.
Under the staff’s arrangements, the guests dispersed and began to head down the mountain.
"President Johnson’s luck is truly terrible. A pregnant woman ruined her engagement banquet, and now a woman’s suicide attempt has ruined her wedding," one guest remarked with a sigh.
"That man is so handsome, he attracts admirers without even trying. It seems when choosing a husband, it’s better to pick an ugly one. At least no one would try to steal him from you."
"TSK. Could you even bring yourself to be with an ugly one?"
"You bitch!"
Sienna ignored the gossip. Adrian had rushed off with Melanie for treatment, leaving poor Devin on the ground, crying, with no one paying him any attention. Devin was about the same age as Curly and looked a lot like Melanie. Sienna knelt, offering a gentle smile.
"Don’t cry. Your mom will be fine."
"You’re a bad woman!"
Sienna helped him up and comforted him, "You’re a big boy. How can a big boy keep crying? Shame on you..." She took out a handkerchief and wiped his tears.
"Can you please not try to steal my dad?"
"Is Adrian Desmond really your dad?"
Devin lowered his head. "Dad says he’s not my father, but Mom says he is."
"What about Jule?"
Melanie must have instilled so much into this child, Sienna thought. Even if I tried to explain, he wouldn’t understand. She patted his head. "Are you hungry? I’ll take you to get something to eat."
"I’m not hungry. My mom won’t die, will she?"
"She’ll be fine."
Devin looked at Sienna and said softly, "You don’t look like a bad woman."
"Silly boy, you’re too young to be judging women already."
Pauline Briggs was furious. How could Sienna be so magnanimous? The child’s mother had just attempted suicide, bringing them such misfortune, and yet Sienna still had the presence of mind to care for the boy!
