Chapter 293: Chapter 294: Danger in the Night Alley

"What about you? Don’t you dream of a passionate love affair?"

Adrian Desmond looked at her, finding her drunken appearance quite adorable, and his fondness for her grew. "I don’t!"

"That’s true. A rugged man like you doesn’t have the patience for sweet nothings. When you see a beautiful woman, you just take her to bed." She reached out and poked his forehead. Adrian Desmond looked at the woman before him in surprise.

Adrian Desmond regarded her, his eyes darker than the night sky. "Isn’t the matter between a man and a woman just about that trivial thing in bed?"

"Adrian Desmond, isn’t there something more important between a man and a woman than physical pleasure? It’s the connection of souls, the resonance of spirits."

Adrian Desmond scoffed. "And then? You say all these pretty words, do all these useless things, and in the end, it’s still about sex in bed!"

"Adrian Desmond, a man like you should stick to large-breasted, brainless women, those **** types, so you can enjoy physical pleasure every day."

Adrian Desmond suddenly leaned closer, his nose touching hers. Her scent was intoxicating, unsettling his thoughts. "I can also enjoy physical pleasure with you every day."

"..."

"Sienna Johnson, you’d better understand. I’m marrying you to make use of you, not to gawk at an ornament." He looked at her as if she were his prey. "What am I supposed to do? I want to ravish you right now."

"Adrian Desmond!"

"Shy little thing!"

"...Adrian Desmond, I don’t like you at all."

"I know. You only like pretty boys."

Adrian Desmond found the beer too weak and ordered white liquor instead, drinking it down as if it were water.

"Adrian Desmond..."

"Hmm?"

"What is it you like about me? Can’t I... I change it?" She let out a drunken burp.

"I like everything about you!"

He leaned closer, lowering his voice to a level only they could hear. "Sienna Johnson, if you want me to take you, you don’t have to be so coy, making excuses about being drunk. I’m more than willing!"

"Adrian Desmond, don’t say that word!" Sienna Johnson flared up.

"Which word?"

He kissed her lips, his eyes, like hooks, ensnaring the dazed, intoxicated woman.

"I’m full. Let’s go."

"Okay."

Adrian Desmond called out loudly, "Boss, check please!"

"Twenty dollars and ten cents. I’ll charge you twenty dollars," said the Boss.

Adrian Desmond didn’t have his wallet. He took Sienna’s, opened it, and found a thick stack of cash inside. He pulled out two bills, handed them to the Boss, pocketed the change, and then helped the unsteady woman walk towards the street.

Adrian Desmond was quite drunk himself and didn’t notice four young men sitting three tables away. Adorned with dragon and tiger tattoos on their arms, they had been eying him. They watched him handle the cash, exchanged glances, and then stood up to pay their bill as well.

"Little drunk kitten, I’m going to find a place later and eat you all up."

Adrian Desmond had his arm around Sienna Johnson, who was very drunk. "Adrian," she slurred, "this is so annoying! Why is the road swaying? Is there going to be an earthquake?"

"The road isn’t swaying, you are!"

"Nonsense! I’m clearly not swaying."

"Look at you now. Who would ever guess you’re that serious corporate Boss?"

"What’s wrong with being a corporate Boss?"

"Adrian Desmond, you’re drunk. Can you stop swaying? You’re making my head spin."

"I’m not swaying. You’re the one who’s drunk."

"I’m not drunk! Look, I can still walk in a straight line!"

Adrian Desmond was speechless.Arguing with a drunk about whether they’re intoxicated is as pointless as playing a lute to a cow.

After a while, Adrian Desmond, unfamiliar with the area, seemed to have lost his way. He noticed the streetlights becoming scarcer and the surroundings growing increasingly quiet. He stopped to look around. Feeling they had taken a wrong turn, he turned to head back.

As they walked into a narrow alley, the four young men from the restaurant approached them. Adrian Desmond glanced at them briefly and had a bad feeling. Ordinarily, he wouldn’t fear them, but today he hadn’t brought his bodyguard. The woman in his arms was completely drunk, and he himself had had a bit too much to drink. As they drew near, the four young men surrounded Sienna and the intoxicated Adrian.

A bald young man commanded, "Hand over your wallet."

At this point, Adrian Desmond didn’t bother arguing. To avoid trouble, he tossed Sienna’s entire wallet to them.

The young men were clearly surprised by Adrian Desmond’s compliance. Their surprise quickly turned to greed. One of them, emboldened, said, "Brother Silas, that chick is gorgeous. Why don’t we... hehe..."

Dutch courage had set in; they had all been drinking. Seeing how incredibly beautiful Sienna was, they thought that even dying would be worth it if they could just get a taste of her.

"You, leave the girl and scram! Or we’ll stab you to death." One of them brandished a switchblade, its blade flashing with a cold light that seemed to make Adrian Desmond’s eyes turn icy.

These men are courting death!

"Did you hear that?"

"Take the money and get lost, or I’ll make your lives a living hell!"

Despite being drunk, Adrian Desmond, accustomed to being the Boss, still had an overwhelming aura. However, these young thugs were ignorant of how dangerous the world could be. They completely underestimated Adrian’s ruthlessness, dismissing him as merely a handsome drunkard and not taking him seriously at all.

"Haha, brothers, did you hear what he said?"

"Brother Silas, he threatened to make our lives a living hell?"

"This pretty boy is even better looking than a woman! How about we make him ’wish he were dead’ instead?"

"Good!"

The men continued their lewd talk, stirring Adrian Desmond’s bloodlust.

They’re looking for death!

Adrian Desmond took off his coat and spread it on the ground for Sienna to sit on. "I’ve run into some punks," he told her. "I’ll take care of them. You just sit tight, okay? I’ll take you home later."

"Hmm." Sienna was quiet.

Adrian Desmond stood up, his steps a bit unsteady. Damn it, I really did drink too much today, he thought. I was planning some ’private time’ with Sienna and didn’t want an audience, so I didn’t bring a bodyguard. And now these punks have caught me off guard.

"Get him!"

The men rushed at him simultaneously. Adrian Desmond caught the nearest one with a punch square to the face. The man’s mouth filled with blood; he spat, and a mouthful of teeth clattered out. "Brother Silas..." the now toothless man stammered, shocked by Adrian’s ferocity.

"All of you, get him! We’re going to kill him tonight!"

The men pulled out their daggers and jabbed at Adrian Desmond simultaneously. Adrian Desmond’s vision was blurred, and the four men seemed to multiply into eight. He swung a few empty punches.
