Chapter 957 - 929: The Hopper Family Offends the Sixth Master_2
A few people were making a scene in the Johnson Family’s house, trying to cling on and refuse to leave. Sienna Johnson was just as impatient with them, had Sally call a few people over, and simply threw them out.
The Hopper Family members stood at the Johnson Family’s gate, cursing and swearing, then called the police, and only then did the matter end.
"They’re all gone?" Sienna asked Sally.
"They refused to leave, later the police came after we called them and took them away."
Adrian Desmond said to Sally, "You go deal with this. Don’t let them ever appear in front of me again!"
With Curly around, there were some things Adrian couldn’t say too explicitly, but Sally understood perfectly well.
"I’ll go handle it right away."
Sienna glanced at Adrian and said, "Why dirty our hands over people like that."
"They cursed my son to be born without an asshole. There’s no way I’m letting them off!" Adrian made his stance clear—he would no longer leave any way out for the Hopper Family.
"You actually believe that crap? Your son is perfectly fine." Sienna chuckled lightly.
"Other people curse my son and I’m supposed to just swallow it?" How the hell was that possible!
Adrian didn’t argue with Sienna. He already knew what he was going to do about the Hopper Family.
Sienna thought of a way to kill with a borrowed knife and instructed Sally, "Go check which loan shark the Hoppers borrowed from, and give those people the Hoppers’ whereabouts.
Evildoers will always be dealt with by other evildoers. I hope the Hoppers suffer a bit and learn a lesson."
Sally glanced at Adrian, still hesitating over whose order to follow.
Sienna sighed and said, "I don’t like doing things too absolutely. People like them, even if I let them off this once, they’ll still walk themselves to a dead end.
You don’t need to dirty your own hands over trash like that. Just treat it as... accumulating some good karma for our son."
"Mm." Adrian reluctantly counted that as agreeing.
Sienna smiled at him, grateful for his understanding. Adrian didn’t say anything more.
...
The Hopper Family members came out of the Police Station and hid in a village-in-the-city in Sileria City.
In that kind of urban village, most of the original residents had basically moved out. Most of the people living there now were migrant workers who’d come into the city.
"That bitch Sienna Johnson went way too far. It’s all her fault. Everything was fine, and once she shows up, we end up as strays with nowhere to go." Milton Hopper said furiously.
He was missing three of his front teeth, and when he talked, the air whistled through.
Ashley Hopper asked worriedly, "What should we do now?"
"How the hell should I know?" Milton roared at her, "It’s all because you’re useless. You couldn’t get control of Marvin Rafael.
If you’d managed to keep Marvin Rafael wrapped around your finger, we could’ve used him to climb up to the Johnson Family. Once those loan sharks knew we had no money, they’d naturally go to the Johnson Family, go to Sienna Johnson for it."
Ashley said, feeling wronged, "Why are you yelling at me? Back then weren’t you the ones who forced me to divorce Marvin?
You blame me, but I blame you too."
"You dare talk back?" Milton said, raising his hand to hit Ashley.
Ashley covered her head with her arms, but Milton didn’t actually swing down. Ashley glanced at her family and just kept crying nonstop.
If it weren’t for her own family, she’d been living perfectly well with Marvin Rafael. How would she have ended up like this?
"Wuu wuu..."
"Cry, cry, that’s all you know how to do. You’ve damn near cried away all my luck with money."
Ashley said, "Fine, then I’ll go! I’ll leave, that’s good enough, right?"
"Get lost!"
Ashley looked at her family, hatred rising in her heart. She’d loved them, wanted to help them so they could live a good life, and this was how they treated her.
"I really regret it..."
"..."
"I regret that after I married Marvin, I ever brought you all over to live with us. If I hadn’t brought you over, none of this would’ve happened."
Jenny looked coldly at her Sister. "Sis, saying that now is just burning the bridge after you’ve crossed it, isn’t it? You don’t even think about how you married Marvin in the first place?"
"..."
"You chased Marvin for so long and he still didn’t like you. If I hadn’t slipped something into Marvin’s wine, you think with that ugly face of yours he’d have given you a second look?"
"You... you... how could you do that?" Ashley was mortified and furious, covering her face and sobbing uncontrollably.
Jenny said in disgust, "Enough. You don’t need to worry about them forcing you to sell yourself. Looking like a damn ghost, no man would want you anyway."
Milton snapped irritably, "All of you shut up. Think about what we’re going to do now."
Jenny said, "Everyone knows my Sister married Marvin Rafael, but not many people know they divorced.
Just let those debt collectors go to the Johnson Family for the money. The Johnsons are loaded anyway."
Milton hesitated. "But that Sienna Johnson definitely won’t pay our debt, and that Adrian Desmond guy, one look and you can tell he’s not someone to mess with..."
Mother Hopper also still had lingering fear. "That man is clearly no good person. His whole face reeks of killing. Just looking at him scared the hell out of me. We’d better not provoke them again. Milton, look at the injuries on your face, they still haven’t healed yet."
"Then tell me, what are we supposed to do now?"
Before the Hopper Family could figure out a plan, the flimsy wooden door was kicked open with one solid blow.
"You really know how to hide. Actually managed to hide yourselves here." Scarface said.
"Mom, Dad, it’s the loan sharks." Ashley hid behind her father, trembling all over with fear.
There was a knife scar running through Scarface’s right eye. His face already looked vicious to begin with, and that scar only added more murderous ferocity.
Two more men followed behind him. The three of them sat down in the cramped little room, while the Hoppers huddled together like a bunch of rats.
"Interest on high-interest loans just piles up and up. It’s already been a week and you still haven’t paid. Planning to skip out on the debt?"
Jenny said, "We really don’t have the money to pay you back, but we have a rich relative. Their family’s loaded. You go to them for the money, you’ll definitely get it."
