Chapter 945 - 922: Fierce Battle (Part 4)
Chapter 945 - 922: Fierce Battle (Part 4)
The blood of the injured shark quickly attracted other sharks.
Generally, members of the same species don’t attack each other; it’s the result of evolution. If a species becomes so ruthless as to harm its own, it would quickly become extinct.
Sharks eat their kind because their eyesight is poor; they follow the scent of blood.
A few sharks shared the injured one, and with just a few bites, the water was stained red. The bloody water gradually expanded, faded, and disappeared.
Sabrina Conner watched from the side, her face turning pale. "Sixth Master, this isn’t just five or six sharks; there are at least ten."
If he had swum any slower just now, he wouldn’t even have his heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys.
"Oh, maybe the sharks had a few more pups over the years."
Sabrina: ...
...
Cliff,
The top of the cliff was smooth, with nowhere to secure anything, so they used people pulling on ropes from above while those below climbed up. The climbers lowered ropes to pull up those at the base.
Over five hundred people quickly gathered on the cliff top.
Adrian Desmond said, "I’ll repeat the order: kill the Night Owl! Capture Doctor X alive! Do you understand?"
"Yes!"
"Move!"
One by one, like agile leopards, they quickly infiltrated the interior of Death Island.
The rain continued to fall, and besides the smell of earth, there was a strong scent of blood in the air, which meant it wasn’t just one or two people who had died.
It seemed the battle ahead was fierce as well.
Adrian Desmond had lived on Death Island for years and was familiar with its terrain.
They soon reached the laboratory where Doctor X was located. Adrian raised a hand, and the team’s pace came to a halt.
There was no one at the entrance of the lab. Adrian recalled that the lab was usually heavily guarded. Had everyone moved to the front to fight?
With a loud rumble, Adrian saw that the armory had exploded. Adrian didn’t know who was so skilled to have blown up the Night Owl’s armory.
"The Night Owl lost this battle!" Adrian said.
Marion said, "No matter how skilled the killers on Death Island are, they can’t withstand an attack from so many people."
Adrian added, "Especially those who are determined to dig up the treasure on Death Island!"
Underneath Death Island, it’s mostly filled with human remains, not treasure.
"Jule, send a few agile and good shooters inside to scout and see what’s going on."
Jule received the order, selected three people, and they quickly infiltrated. About five or six minutes later, there was news.
"Sixth Master, there’s a man inside who looks exactly like the Night Owl, but his heart is missing. Should we kill him?"
Sabrina asked, "Without a heart, isn’t he already dead?"
Adrian suddenly thought of Shade Jervois, who also looked exactly like the Night Owl on Death Island.
"What’s that man’s condition now?"
Jule relayed Adrian’s question, and the report quickly came back, "He’s unconscious, with tubes all over his body, sustained by machines."
"Besides the unconscious man, is there anyone else inside?"
"No one else."
Adrian felt a sense of unease and quickly ordered, "Half of you surround the lab, and the other half come with me inside.
Jule, Marion, take a few people and check if there are any helicopters on the island. If there are, destroy them all!
Aaron, infiltrate Death Island’s network and pull up all surveillance. I need to know the positions of the Night Owl and Doctor X."
"Yes!"
Everyone split up to carry out their tasks, while Adrian led his team into the empty lab. Adrian ordered them to spread out and search for Doctor X and the Night Owl.
On Death Island, the lab was a hell.
Injured people carried in here never came out alive.
Doctor X was a scientific madman conducting human experiments on Death Island; he was a demon!
"Sixth Master, over here."
Sabrina led the way, and they quickly reached the ward where the heartless man lay.
Passing through a transparent hall, Sabrina almost vomited. Various corpses soaked in Formalin for a long time—those appearances...
"So disgusting!"
Adrian saw a formed fetus by his feet and felt a pang of discomfort, thinking of his soon-to-be-born son.
"What kind of monster is Doctor X? Is he a pervert?" Sabrina cursed aloud.
It might have been tolerable if they were just human specimens, but Doctor X went as far as to hybridize human cells with various animal cells, creating many bizarre, nonexistent species.
Barnes Smythe said, "He sees himself as a god capable of creating all things."
"God? Ha! This god’s sense of aesthetics is flawed. Look at the ugly things he’s made!"
Adrian continued to advance and saw a man lying on a bed in a clean ward.
"Shade?" Adrian stood by the bed, speaking softly.
It was so quiet. The unconscious man, Adrian couldn’t quite distinguish if it was Shade Jervois or the Night Owl.
The intercom buzzed, and Aaron Faber spoke to Adrian, "Sixth Master, I’ve spotted the Night Owl. He’s being carried towards the northeast corner of Death Island."
"..."
"There are several planes parked in the northeast corner. The Night Owl plans to escape by helicopter."
Adrian quickly ordered Jule, "Jule, the Night Owl will escape by plane. Don’t destroy the planes, just attach time bombs. Once the planes take off, blow them up.
Also, station the best sniper nearby. Once the Night Owl appears, shoot him in the head!"
No escape route was left for the Night Owl.
"Yes, Sixth Master!"
"Sixth Master, they’re on the plane now," Aaron Faber reported.
"Proceed as planned!"
"..."
"Aaron, what about Doctor X? Is he with the Night Owl?"
"Hold on."
Aaron quickly scanned the computer screens using facial recognition, rapidly locating Doctor X.
Seeing Doctor X’s hiding place, Aaron was briefly surprised, and then smiled.
Aaron laughed, "Sixth Master, guess where Doctor X is hiding?"
"Where?"
"Under the bed!"
Adrian frowned, "Which bed?"
"The one right in front of you!"
"..."
"Does he take us for fools, daring to hide right under our noses!"
Adrian: ...
Adrian gripped his gun tightly, pointing it at the bed, coldly saying, "Come out!"
There was no response!
Adrian continued, "Come out! Or I’ll shoot!"
No response came!
"I’ll count to three. If you’re not out by then, I’ll start shooting... 1, 2..."
Bang, bang... Adrian fired.
"Bill, damn it, you didn’t even count to three before pulling the trigger!"
"Come out!" Adrian coldly demanded.
Doctor X crawled out from under the bed, and everyone finally saw the true face of Doctor X.
"Ha? Just a little old man, I thought he would be something remarkable," Sabrina said, disappointed.
