Chapter 777 - 814: Seeking Outside Help, Rescue (Part 2)
"I’m going to take down Woodenshade Village!"
...
The next day, Adrian Desmond woke up, stepped out of the tent to relieve himself, and saw Barnes Smythe standing outside.
Barnes Smythe was covered in wounds, his face bruised and swollen, not a patch of skin untouched, and one eye was so swollen it couldn’t open.
"Sixth Master!" Barnes greeted respectfully.
"Not dead yet?"
"Thank you, Sixth Master, for showing mercy."
Adrian walked towards the depths of the jungle, with Barnes following him. Adrian stopped and asked, "Why are you following me?"
"I’ve decided to pledge my loyalty to you till death!" Barnes proclaimed.
Adrian looked Barnes up and down, then ordered, "When we return, train with me in close quarter combat for an hour every day!"
"Yes, Sixth Master!"
Barnes couldn’t hide his joy on his face. Watching Adrian walk away, he jumped up excitedly on the spot, only to pull at his wounds and grimace in pain.
Sabrina Conner watched Barnes, and said to Marion who was washing his face, "Do you think Mila had his brain scrambled by Sixth Master? Why would he willingly endure an hour of beating from him every day?"
"If Barnes is trained an hour every day by Sixth Master, in half a year, even if you and I teamed up, we couldn’t defeat him."
"You’re right. Isn’t it the old saying that getting beaten means love, and getting scolded means care?"
Sabrina figured it out, pondering whether she could learn a thing or two by sneaking around.
...
A week later, Jeffrey Turner finally returned from Mandanila.
Adrian took his people to Himakati, to Nong Lake in Kramut, where Jeffrey’s house was located.
The Black Grand Cherokee drove along the wide avenue, Adrian distractedly watching the street outside.
"Sixth Master, we’re here." Brandon Potter said.
The car stopped outside the Turner residence. Marion went to knock on the door. A man saw Adrian and his group, went in to announce their arrival, and after a while, the gates opened, allowing their two vehicles to enter.
"Sixth Master, our Boss is expecting you. Please follow me."
Adrian only brought along Brandon Potter, following the guide to meet Jeffrey.
In the living room,
Jeffrey and Ernest Turner were waiting for him. When Jeffrey saw Adrian, he stood up, walked over, and greeted Adrian warmly.
He patted him on the shoulder, scrutinizing him, "What’s this? Why do you look thinner? And your face so haggard, what happened?"
"My woman was kidnapped, and I also suffered a gunshot wound recently." Adrian didn’t hide it from him, though he didn’t want to expose his vulnerability and incompetence to others.
"Who? Tell me, I’ll help you take revenge!" Jeffrey said passionately.
Ernest, still maintaining his elegant, aristocratic demeanor, sat quietly reading beside his father. Seeing Adrian, he stood up along with his father and interjected,
"Dad, Uncle Desmond is injured, let him sit to talk."
"Oh, right, right... Someone, bring tea!" Jeffrey called out.
Ernest politely greeted Adrian, "Hello, Uncle Desmond. How’s Curly?"
"Good!"
Adrian didn’t mention Curly, leaving Ernest somewhat disappointed. They sat back down, with Ernest taking a seat next to his father.
Adrian had come to see Jeffrey for business. After waiting for a week, his patience was already exhausted, and he was not in the mood for tea chat with Jeffrey.
"Jeffrey, I have something I need your help with."
"Oh?"
Adrian got straight to the point, "I’d like you to take action, I’ll provide the money and weapons, and you help me eradicate Woodenshade Village! However, I need Xavier Young handed over to me for retribution."
Jeffrey was aware of Woodenshade Village and Xavier Young.
After several bloody battles, currently, the most powerful force was Wayne Manning, followed by himself, and then this Xavier Young.
Xavier Young’s rise was incredibly rapid.
The area of Woodenshade Village was originally controlled by another smaller force. Jeffrey had heard that one day Xavier Young brought people and subdued that force, gradually establishing his armed forces there, now even threatening to surpass his own.
Jeffrey scratched his head and said, struggling, "Brother, it’s not that I don’t want to help, but I’m afraid I can’t handle Xavier Young."
"..."
"You might not know, the place in Woodenshade Village is not easy to attack. It’s a valley terrain, and there’s a large reservoir there. Even if we manage to break through, all Xavier Young has to do is blow up the dam, and the valley will flood into a lake. Everyone will be doomed then..."
Adrian knew about the reservoir, but hadn’t considered that angle. "Does Xavier Young know about this?"
"He’s the one who spread the word. Originally, some people were envious of Xavier Young’s growing business and wanted to target him. After learning about this, they gave up."
Adrian said to Brandon Potter beside him, "Send someone to investigate whether it’s feasible to blow up the reservoir and flood Woodenshade Village?"
"Yes, Sixth Master."
"Go check right away."
"Yes."
As Brandon Potter went off to investigate, Ernest asked, "Since that’s the case, why don’t we blow up the reservoir and flood Woodenshade Village?"
Jeffrey hadn’t thought of this; he patted his son’s head, saying, "Son, you’re smart."
But Adrian wouldn’t do it; Sienna Johnson was still in there. Even though Sienna could swim, she was pregnant now, and he couldn’t take any risks.
"My woman is still in there, and she’s pregnant now. I can’t risk it."
"Just get her out beforehand, right?"
"Woodenshade Village has tight security, and they only allow familiar faces, especially where Xavier Young lives. It’s very difficult to sneak in and get a pregnant woman out.
I can’t let my woman take any risk."
"I’ve brought 500 new weapons this time; as long as you help me deal with Xavier Young, I’ll give you 300. What do you think?"
"300?" Jeffrey was tempted.
"Yes. Currently, I have only 500 in hand."
