The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 380 - 381: The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 380 - 381: The Kidnapped Bride

This trip to the beach had quickly heated up the relationship between Kiki and Samuel Palmer. They both had gentle personalities and got along well. Not long after they returned, a wedding date was set.

Sienna Johnson was genuinely happy for Kiki.

However, when she saw Lucas Robertson, Sienna’s happiness was dampened.

Kiki was about to marry Samuel Palmer, and although Lucas didn’t say anything, his increasingly gaunt figure and the bloodshot sclera of his eyes told Sienna that he was not happy.

Seeing Lucas like this, Sienna didn’t know whether to scold him for not cherishing what he had or pity him for being trapped by love.

"Mm."

Lucas became even more silent and gloomy. Even Sienna felt a little frightened when she saw him. She hoped that going out and clearing his mind would help him think things through.

"When are you planning to leave?"

"Tomorrow!"

"So, are you coming back for Kiki’s wedding?" Sienna asked tentatively.

Lucas raised his eyes and looked at Sienna but did not respond.

Seeing the unusually silent man, Sienna always had a feeling of the calm before a storm. Lucas was strong-willed and not one to give up easily. Now that Kiki was getting married, was he really going to give up?

"...If you can’t make it back, Kiki will understand."

"..."

"Uh, do you have enough money? Do you want me to advance you some of your salary?"

"Yes."

"How much do you want?"

"The more, the better."

Sienna looked up and sized up Lucas; his tone sounded like he was planning to skip town. "Is 30 thousand enough?"

"Mm."

Without further ado, she wrote him a check for 30 thousand. Lucas accepted it and put it in his pocket.

Sienna watched Lucas with a scrutinizing gaze. She desperately wanted to know what was going on behind his emotionless face.

"Kiki is getting married. What are you planning to give her as a wedding gift? ...If it were someone else, you could just choose any gift and give it to her, but Kiki is different. I want to give Kiki a special gift, but I don’t know what to give... It’s such a headache."

"Miss, I’ll be leaving now," Lucas said, not directly answering Sienna’s question. With a cold attitude, he turned and left.

Watching Lucas’s retreating figure with a frown, Sienna felt a growing unease. She suddenly remembered a saying: One either erupts in silence, or perishes in silence.

Was Lucas going to erupt or perish?

"Lucas, I hope you can come to your senses and not cause any trouble," Sienna sighed.

「The next day, at dinnertime,」

Lucas didn’t show up. Not only was Lucas not there, but Kiki was also gone. Sienna began to worry.

She asked a servant, who said they hadn’t seen Kiki all day. Sienna asked Curly, "Curly, did your Godmother say where she was going? Why hasn’t she come back now that it’s time for dinner?"

Curly chewed on a piece of ham and said crisply, "Oh, I forgot. Lucas said he was taking Kiki out for a bit and wouldn’t be back for a while."

"..."

"Lucas said he’d bring Curly a gift, a really big one... Thaaat big..." Curly gestured, her eyes sparkling with the joy of an anticipated gift.

"What? Lucas took Kiki away?"

Sienna had never, ever expected Lucas to actually kidnap Kiki. She coaxed her daughter, asking, "Did Lucas say where he was taking Kiki?"

Curly shook her head. "No."

"Then when did he say they would be back?"

"He didn’t."

Sienna lost her appetite. She immediately called Kiki, but her phone was switched off.

After thinking about recent events, Sienna slowly pieced things together. Sure enough, Lucas hadn’t given up so easily; he had actually spirited Kiki away without a word.

"This Lucas is really going too far."

Sienna went to Adrian Desmond and said, "Adrian, did you hear that? Lucas took Kiki away! Hurry up and have someone search for them. With Kiki’s gentle nature, if Lucas bullies her, he could bully her mercilessly."

"..."

"Hey, did you hear me?" Sienna shook Adrian’s arm. He glanced at her coldly and said pointedly, "That Lucas Robertson is quite capable. When he kidnapped you, it took me four years to find you. As for Kiki...? Let’s just take our time searching. We should be able to find her in four or five years."

"This is no time to be settling old scores!"

"HUMPH!"

"Adrian, are you even a man? Look at how petty you are, smaller than the eye of a needle..."

"Daddy, being petty isn’t good for a man," Curly chimed in.

"Daddy’s being petty? Hmm? I just increased your allowance this month. Since you say I’m petty, your allowance can go back to what it was."

The threat of reducing her allowance was potent enough to make Curly clam up.

Unable to reach Kiki, Sienna called Lucas, and his phone connected.

"Lucas, where did you take Kiki?" Sienna demanded loudly.

"I took her out for a bit. We’ll be back in a while." Lucas’s voice was consistently flat, without inflection.

"What do you mean, ’took her out for a bit’? Did you ask Kiki’s opinion? Was she willing to go with you? Also, Kiki is getting married soon. There are so many things to prepare for the wedding! You’ve abducted her; when Samuel Palmer comes asking, how am I supposed to explain this to him..."

Lucas interrupted Sienna coldly, "There won’t be a wedding!"

"What do you mean?"

"..."

"Hello? Hello...? Damn it, Lucas dared to hang up on me!" Sienna looked at Adrian and said angrily, "That’s too much! How could he do that?"

Adrian ate and drank as usual, acting as if nothing concerned him. Seeing his attitude, Sienna became even angrier and said to him, "You, sleep in the study tonight!"

"’Heh heh, Daddy, Mommy’s angry,’" Curly chirped, giggling as she looked at her father with a hint of schadenfreude.

Adrian frowned and pursed his lips, then ordered Walter Klein, "Have someone search for Lucas and Kiki!"

"Yes, Sixth Master."

Seeing Adrian was willing to help, Sienna softened her voice and said, "Adrian, thank you."

"I’m only helping with the search. As for whether we can find them, I can’t say for sure. You know Lucas’s ability to hide people."

"It’s alright. As long as the Sixth Master is willing to help, I’m already deeply grateful."

"So, where am I sleeping tonight?"

"Of course, in the bedroom."

Sienna served Adrian some food. "You should eat more. Look, you’ve lost weight lately..."

Adrian’s eyes sparkled, and the corners of his tightly pressed lips curved into a handsome arc.
